COYER-ScavHuntLogo

Ever since last summer when I joined Coyer for the first time this has been one of my favourite reading challenges in part thanks to all the hard work of the hosts and the awesome facebook group. Coyer is hosted by Michelle from Because Reading is Better Than Real Life, Berls from Fantasy is More Fun and Stormi from Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My!

I am so sad that Coyer is over, I always have so much fun with this reading challenge. I had a crazy and busy summer this year and while I am glad summer is almost over, I am sad Coyer is over and that I didn’t got read as much as I wanted to. I still did great on most of my goals, seeing as I set them quite low.

My Goals

  • Read at least 12 books. 22 books read! Wow I hadn’t expected to read this many books as I felt like I skipped a lot of evenings reading and watching Star Wars instead, but I still almost doubled my goal!
  • Read at least 6 review books. Read 16 review books: The Hardest Fight, Love Games, Led Astray, Second Chance Summer, Freya’s Inferno, Mamachari Matchmaker, The Night Parade, The Wolf Wilder, Summer Haikus, A Lady’s Guide to Skirting Scandal, The Good Girls Second Chance, How to be a Mermaid, Storm Fall, Torn Sky, Delinquent and The Duality Bridge. You would think I made a dent in the my review pile huh? But unfortunately I almost added just as many new books.
  • Read at least 2 new releases. 11 new releases: The Stars Never Rise, The Hardest Fight, Led Astray, Second Chance Summer, Freya’s Inferno, The Wolf Wilder, Summer Haikus, The Good Girls Second Chance, How to be a Mermaid, Torn Sky, Thor’s Serpents and The Duality Bridge. Love Games, Mamachari Matchmaker, A Lady’s Guide to Skirting Scandal and Delinquent are also new releases, but not long enough to count for the challenge. And one 2016 new release 😉 The Night Parade. Almost half of the books I read were new releases, I never realized how many new releases I read.
  • Read at least 5 books that count for the Scavenger Hunt. 19 of the books I read counted towards the scavnger hunt. Which is pretty neat seeing as I just read whatever I wanted and then checked if the book counted.
  • Participate in at least 2 twitter parties. I participated in all twitter parties! Even though I wasn’t as present during two of them because of sick rats, I still managed to attend all of them.
  • Be active in the facebook group. I did pretty well with this goal and commented on almost all posts, although I did mis one week of questions in the week after Snickers died and was less active two other weeks as well.
  • Be a Supportive Participant. I kinda stopped counting after the first weeks or so, so I am not sure how well I did. I didn’t have as much time to stop by and comment as I hoped. Hopefully next time this will go better.

Love comes in many forms and always at a price.

At twenty-three, Princess Isabella must settle down for the sake of her kingdom. Caught up in a secret affair with her lady-in-waiting, Hannah, the princess knows it can only last for so long.

When Prince Alexander arrives to court her, he confides that his father is on his death bed, and he will be crowned king soon. Isabella hastily agrees to the proposal, desiring to be queen, knowing little about her soon to be husband.

Murder, secrets, and lies combine with menage, spanking, and erotic encounters in this steamy medieval romance.

Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she’s too busy trying to actually survive. Her town’s population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago.

When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she’ll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie’s sin has put her in serious trouble.

To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie?

There’s no backing down this time.

Lucy Everhart expected her opposing counsel to be a slick, soulless corporate lawyer. Who else would represent developers intent on turning Chicago’s Safe Haven women’s shelter into condos? But she never imagined it would be Dylan Hunt. Clearly, he’s no longer the idealistic young man she fell for in law school. This is Dylan 2.0. The man who let her go without a fight five years ago—along with his passion for social justice, apparently. He may have compromised what he believed in, but Lucy hasn’t. Dylan has no idea what kind of fight he’s in for. But then again, neither does she.

When Regis braves the aisles of a video game retailer, he’s swept off his feet by Mars, the tall, dark, and gorgeous salesclerk who works there. But there’s very little chance that such a savvy gamer would ever notice a man who can barely use his computer.

Deciding the obvious solution is to fake it, Regis enlists the aid of his cousin to convince Mars he’s a high-level gamer. The plan works perfectly right up until Mars invites him to a prestigious gaming conference, where even Regis’s high IQ isn’t enough to fake his way through dozens of real gamers—and will definitely cost him the man he’s been lying to the whole time.

As #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong’s new Cainsville series continues, Olivia’s power to read omens leads to the discovery of a gruesome crime with troubling connections to her new hometown.

Omens, the first installment in Kelley Armstrong’s exciting new series, introduced Olivia Taylor-Jones, daughter of notorious serial killers, and Gabriel Walsh, the self-serving, morally ambiguous lawyer who became her unlikely ally. Together, they chased down a devious killer and partially cleared her parents of their horrifying crimes.

Their success, however, is short-lived. While Olivia takes refuge in the old, secluded town of Cainsville, Gabriel’s past mistakes have come to light, creating a rift between the pair just when she needs his help the most.

Olivia finds a dead woman in her car, dressed to look like her, but the body vanishes before anyone else sees it. Olivia’s convinced it’s another omen, a sign of impending danger. But then she learns that a troubled young woman went missing just days ago—the same woman Olivia found dead in her car. Someone has gone to great lengths to kill and leave this young woman as a warning. But why? And what role has her new home played in this disturbing murder?

Olivia’s effort to uncover the truth places her in the crosshairs of old and powerful forces, forces that have their own agenda, and closely guarded secrets they don’t want revealed.

  1. Awesome job my friend! You did great! I am so sad it’s over too. I might try and keep the questions going in the social media group so we can stay active until the winter but everyone is already very active so I might not have too do to much 🙂

Next COYER will be here before you know it and it will be nice to get back to basic again!

    Have a great day Lola!

    • Oh I like the idea to keep some of the questions going! The social media group is always one of my favourite parts, although I wasn’t as active as I wanted in the past few weeks.

I am already looking forward to next COYER!

  2. Wowsers! You did really well for this challenge. I did a Summer Bingo-style reading challenge last year, but this year, I did only a week long TBR pile challenge beyond my regular year long challenges. No one book really stands out as a favorite summer read.

    • It takes place twice yearly, durign summer and winter and it’s such a fun challenge with a fun group of bloggers who participate each time and there’s a facebook group with lots of questions and interactions. I hope you’ll consider joining next time! It’s a great challenge to read more and add even more books to your to-read list.
