sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty good week. I got a bunch of work done, I am almost done with this month’s assistant work. I put two new sign-up posts live for two January cover reveals and I had a cover reveal, blitz and blog tour run this week. I am working on some sign-up posts as well.

There were a few hassles I had to deal with this week sadly, but besides that it was a pretty good week.

I also got some reading done this week and finished 3 books. I continued my mood reading, but I also got a review book read that i was in the mood for. I am hoping to find a balance of about 50% review books and 50% non review books (that I still review ofcourse) next year. I have my best books of 2017 post planned for next week and am excited to hear about other blogger’s their favorite books of this year. I also have a books I DNF’d in 2017 post planned and I have two more end of the year type of posts planned that I still have to finish.

I hope you all have a great Christmas!

What did I read this week?

Mermaid Fins, Winds & Rolling PinsUnknownFalling for a Cowboy

Two solid 4 stars reads and one 3 star read this week. Mermaid Fins, Winds & Rolling Pins was great, I had a lot of fun reading it and am looking forward to book 4. Unknown wasn’t as good as I had hoped, the book didn’t fully come alive and I never fully warmed up to the main character. But all the love interests had their own personality and the camp setting was nice. Falling for a Cowboy was a heartwarming and beautiful friend to lovers romance between a charming cowboy and barrel racer who becomes blind.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Etched in Tears by Cheryl Hollon
Review: The Truth of Letting Go by Amy Sparling

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Double Play/ Perfect Victim by Kelley Armstrong
– Lola’s Ramblings: Books I DNF’d in 2017
– Lola’s Ramblings: Best Books I read in 2017
– New release Challenge 2017: 4th quarterly recap

  1. Glad you got a lot of work this week.

I wanted to do a DNF post at the end of the year but with my slump I am not sure I DNF for the correct reasons. Some I know I did but next year I plan to do fun posts at the end of the year. 🙂

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy the day! (hugs) ox

    • I only DNF’d three books this year, but I still wanted to share my thoughts about those books as well.

There’s no wrong reason to DNF in my opinion and as long as you explain why you DNF’d the book, your readers will understand that at least.

      Merry Christmas to you too!

  2. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!! I’m looking forward to hearing about your best books of 2017. I want to add a few new books to my TBR so I’ll be looking at what you loved. I hope you have a great holiday week! xo

  3. Glad the business is still booming for you. And yay for getting three books read this week and that two were pretty great. I am of the same opinion about more balance between review and non-review books these days.
Looking forward to your end of the year posts.
Your pumpkin soup always sounds good.
Your outer space mystery does sound good.

    Merry Christmas, Lola!

    • It really was a great year for my business :). I am making it my goal for next year to do better balancing review books with other reads.

I always like writing the end of the year posts and am looking forward to other bloggers their end of the year posts.

    • I have a books I DNF’d in 2017 post, the best books I read in 2017, then a post about how I did with 2017 goals and my goals 2018 in one post and I still have to write a stat post as I kept track of all the books I read with a spreadsheet this year. I am waiting till the year has ended to write that last one as I think I might just finish another book this year. And I just finished a 5 star read that I still added to my best books post :).

    • Same here, but too often I end up with too many review books and don’t make enough time for the non-review books. I hope to do better next year and get even pickier about which review books I accept.
