Blurb:
Urban Fantasy with a Cyberpunk Twist
***seventh episode of the second season***
Recommended: start with Season One.

What’s your life worth on the open market?
In this gritty urban fantasy, debt collectors take your life energy and give it to someone more “worthy”… all while paying the price with black marks on their souls.

In the race to stop Moloch’s plan to shift the debt records of thousands of people, Wraith finds the corruption of debt collection runs even deeper than she thought.

Contains mature content and themes.

My Review:
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Corruption is one of the shortest episode in this season and I am pretty sure the last episode will make up for that. This episode on itself isn’t that interesting, it’s a chain to link to the last episode. It was a fun episode, but it only emphasizes the fact that there will be another episode and I am grumbling about having to wait for that one as I want it now.

There isn’t much to say about this episode that I haven’t said earlier and as it’s pretty short there isn’t that much that happens. There’s a twist at the end of the episode that I didn’t expect, but I wasn’t too surprised either.

I had fun reading the interactions between Wyatt and Wraith, Wyatt has only played a small part so far, so it’s fun to see a bit more of him. I am pretty sure I agree with Zachariel that Wyatt is in love with Wraith. I am also thinking it feels a tiny bit like a love triangle, as I have no clue with whom Wraith will end up in the end, with Zachariel or Wyatt. And to be honest I would be okay with either one. This series isn’t really about the romance though, so while it is present it isn’t at the foreground. And even with all the tension goign on the character stay focussed on their mission, stopping Gehena, which I appreciated. Although to be honest I also would be okay with a little bit more romance ;).

To conclude: this was a short episode, leading up to the last episode. There’s isn’t much that happens in this episode, some fun interactions, a twist at the end and a sort of love triangle, although the focus isn’t on it. The focus is on the story and how they are going to stop Gehena. I can’t wait to read the last episode to find out how this season ends!

  1. I’m an impatient reader, and have come to the conclusion that series that follow the episode format just aren’t for me. For one, they are a pain in the butt to review, and two, far too short. I’m happy that Debt Collector is working out for you, and I do like the sound of Urban Fantasy with a Cyberpunk twist… Oh wells.

    • I have to admit they are a pain in the butt to review and my reviews of episodes are usually shorter then normal reviews. But in cases like this series the episodic format works really well, Susan really knows how to write episodic books. As beside this author I usually don’t like episodic format either.
Next week the whole season is released then you can read them all in a row ;).
