sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty standard week. I worked on a new sign-up post for a tour that I put live and did my assistant work. I managed to finish reading three books this week and did some puzzling. We’re almost finished with Killjoys season 2, which is still enjoyable.

We had some uncharacteristically warm days for this time of the year, which was a bit weird, but kinda nice too to see the sun and have some warm weather even with the autumn colors showing up.

I’ve been reading most for review books on my ipad and decide to take a short break and read a non review books before I have to dive into my November ARC’s. I decided to pick up The Horse Mistress Book 1 and it was so good I started book 2 right after it. I have received most of the November ARC’s I signed-up for so far, so I plan to start on those next. I got a bunch of new books that I am very excited about it.

What did I read this week?

Stolen PrincessThe Horse Mistress Book 1Darak

Stolen Princess was a great sequel, I am really enjoyed this series so far. If you like pirates, fantasy and magic, I would recommend this series. It’s really good. The Horse Mistress Book 1 was really good. The characters are great and I liked the romance and how caring the characters were. If you’re open to reading about a romance with three characters who all love each other, I can’t recommend it enough. their relationship was beautiful to read about. Darak was a fun science fiction romance read, it was a bit short tough and I would’ve liked to see some things explored a bit more.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

Review: Possessed with the Vampire by Kellie McAllen
Review: Stolen Princess by Kelly St Clare

What to expect next week on the blog:

Book Haul:

Pets in Space 3Dead in the GardenRenewing ForeverDire Wolf Wanted

I also got a copy of The Christmas Gift for review. I am really excited to return to the Barlow Sisters world for this novella. Pets in Space 3 I bought as I loved the previous 2 anthologies. Dead in the Garden is a cozy mystery with a gay couple, I think this is the first time I found a cozy mystery with gay couple, so I had to buy it. And it was only 99 cents. Renewing Forever and Dire Wolf Wanted I got both for review. I gave a 5 star rating to the book Building Forever, so I am really excited for Renewing Forever. And I am curious for Frank’s story, who we already met in book 1. And I am loving the ice age shifters series and plan to start Dire Wolf Wanted soon.

What do you like most about autumn?

  1. Your week sounds very productive. Yay for finishing three books and really loving on a couple of them. I got the third Pets in Space, too. 🙂 I’ll have to look up Dead in the Garden since I’d like to read an m/m cozy. Hope your other review books from series you like turn out great. I got the first Ice Age Shifters after you sent me the tag for it. Thanks a bunch!

We’ve got crisp fall weather here and I love it, but it is nice to have slightly warm sunny days, too. Have a good week, Lola!

    • It was a productive week indeed. That’s great you got Pets in Space 3 too, I hope we both enjoy it :). I just finished Dead in the Garden and it was pretty fun. I hop[e you’ll enjoy the first Ice Age Shifters books, I am glad you got it when it was free :). Not sure if you signed-up for her newsletter, but she often posts review opportunities for her books there.

It’s turning back to slightly crisp weather again now here.

  2. Glad that you, too, are getting the lovely sunny autumn weather that we have also been enjoying. I do hate the shorter days and longer nights, but the colours of the dying leaves and the profusion of berries this year has made it one of the most beautiful autumns that I can remember. I hope the coming week is also a good one for you, Lola:)

    • I am usually reading non review books on my Kobo e-reader and review books on my ipad, but as I read more on my iapd, I have to remember to fit in some non review books there now and then. Especially since September till November were full with review books, it was great to take a short break and read some non review books in between.

  3. Yay for a productive week, I owe you a banner! 🙂 I’ll have it for you this week.
I want the pirates book so badly but I am waiting for next month to finish all my spooky reads, lol.

I hope you have a fantastic week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • I’ll keep an eye out for your e-mail with the banner :). Next week is fine.

I hope you can get around to reading the pirates book soon. It’s such a great series so far and I am curious to hear what you’ll think of the books.

      Have fun your spooky reads!

  4. I always forgot that other people have cool weather at this time of year. It’s still hot here lol. The Horse Mistress has a pretty cover! And how great that it has some nice polyamorous relationship rep. I’m glad you have some upcoming books that you’re excited for! I have so many sequals coming out over Nov/Dec, so I’m excited for a lot of books too!

    • We usually get cooler weather here and lots of rain in autumn, but this week we had lots of sun and mild weather.

The Horse Mistress series is great so far, the polyamorous relationships is so well done and it also has a transgender/ gender fluid (I am not fully sure actually, I think gender fluid is what the author called it) main character.

It’s great to have so many upcoming books I am excited for :). That’s nice you have a bunch of sequel you’re waiting for that are released soon.

    • Here it’s like we were back to summer for a week and only now it’s cooling down again. That’s weird that where you live the weather has turned so cold already.

  5. RO

Kudos on finishing up 3 books. I’ve been reading spy novels, but I’m definitely because I keep picking up other things to do.(lol) It’s been a little cooler here in NC and I’m loving it so much. That potato and pumpkin mash sounds like an interesting and different recipe. Hugs and happy weekend! RO
