The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week was a bit less busy than last week, which was kinda nice. But for some reason I was really tired this week, it felt like I had caught a cold, but like I was stuck at that stage right before the full symptoms hit. So I never really got to the being sick stage, but I also didn’t really feel 100% healthy. It was weird. I also had a headache one day and took a nap that helped and yesterday another headache hit, but painkillers took care of that. Mostly it was a pretty okay week.
As for work, I had two tours running this week, I sent out two media kits this week for tours that are starting next week and I did some assistant work. And this week my mom stopped by for a visit this week, which was fun, we talked and drank tea.
I read two books this week and scheduled reviews for them and I am still making my way through Pets in Space 2, which is a great read, but very long as all the stories are a decent length. Lots of great stories in there so far. I also bought some new books, a box set of a series I started this week and two new releases I was curious about.
Picture of the Week
Sorry no picture this week.
What did I read this week?
I read through two novella’s this week on ym Kobo. Both were only 60 pages or so, so they are fairly short reads, hence why it still looks like I read something. Both were 3 star reads, a lot of fun, original setting, but a bit short. Pride fo Afrika felt a bit rushed, but Night Spots was a lot better paced. I already bought the rest of the series. Pets in Space 2 is about 800 pages long, so it’s taking me a while to get through that

Book Haul:
I bought the box set with all 6 books in the Hotel safari series as I am having fun with these stories so far. Let There Be Love sounds so good! It’s been on my wishlist since I first heard about it and now it got released so I grabbed my copy. Shattered Heir is a YA Fantasy, I was curious about this one and bought a copy when it released. Both Let There be Love and Shattered Heir were only $0.99. Southern Fried was only $0.99 so I bought it as I already have book 1.
Freebies I grabbed:
You can stop by my facebook post here to see some freebies and cheap/ discounted book I found last week. Here’s the Facebook post for next week.
I think you should name this week ‘Curry Week’.
Oh I have a great idea, maybe from now on you can have a ‘theme’ meal every week! That would be amazing.
Have a great week~!
I eat a lot of curries, so almost every week could be curry week ;). You have a great week too!
I’m glad your cold wasn’t as “coldy” as usual 🙂 maybe just a little bug?
Have a great reading week 🙂

I am glad it didn’t turn really bad, but it was still annoying to feel a bit off for so long.
The Japanese curry sounds interesting. I went and looked at your recipe. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to grate apple into a curry, but I’ll bet it’s good that way. And curry was probably a good way to help ward off whatever cold bug you were fighting, too. I hope you feel better this week!

I really like Japanese curry, adding an apple might sound a bit weird at fist, but it really adds something to the curry :). And as you grate it, it becomes part of the sauce.
I still don’t feel fully well again, but I hope later this week I do.
I’m glad you didn’t get really sick. Yesterday I woke up with a migraine and had to take the medicine for it, it pretty much makes me useless. So, I got nothing done. I hate that too. So, I feel ya about having an awful headache. Hope you are feeling better now. Enjoy all the new books you picked up this week. 🙂
Have a great week.
Sorry to hear about your migraine. It’s so annoying when a headache hits and then it;s so hard to focus.
That sounds like my son. He sounds like he is getting over a cold he never had and it just seems to be lingering. He had a temp but was cold to the touch. I told him he was turning into a zombie, he didn’t believe me. LOL
Awww, a nice visit with your mom. That must be awesome! Mine is away that the moment and I do miss her when she isn’t here.
I give you lots of credit for tackling an 800 page book! I don’t know if I could do that. I’m such a slow reader, it would have to be 800 pages of complete awesome! 🙂 I hope you are enjoying it.
Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

It was so weird. I was tired, a bit achy muscles and a headache. Cold one day and then warm the next second. But it never really turned into a cold, it was so weird.
My mom lives closer to here again, so it’s nice we can go for a quick visit now and then :).
I don’t usually read such long books either, I much prefer the 200-300 pages lenght books. It is weird as normally I read a book or two per week and now I am reading the same book for two weeks already. But it is a great read and it’s an anthology, so it’s actually 12 (I think) shorter stories instead.
Kinda a bummer that your cold didn’t get into a full cold. That’s kinda the worse when it lingers. Hope you have a great week.

It was annoying how it kept lingering.
Sorry you were zapped this week – it sounds a bit like the thing I went down with the previous week, but alongside the headaches, I also had aching limbs and a mild temperature. Glad yours didn’t progress to that stage. How lovely to have a good catchup with your mother – it’s nice she lives close enough to have regular get-togethers.
I hope you have a busy, successful week – though with sufficient downtime that you don’t get too tired:).
Yes I also had the aching limbs a few days. I didn’t measure my temperature, but I did have some of those hot or cold moments. I still don’t feel fully normal again. But it was so weird to not be really sick, but still don’t feel good either.
My mother lived on the other side of the country for a while and recently moved closer back here again, so we’ve been seeing each other more regularly now. It’s easier to stop by for a short visit now.
I’m glad you had a fairly good week, but I hate when I’m sick or just FEEL like I’m getting sick. That’s the worst.

It kept up this week a bit too, it’s just annoying to keep feeling like I am about to get sick.
Lots of stuff going around seems like- must be the change of seasons. Glad it didn’t get too bad! It’s been chilly at night here until last week when we got super hot, even at night. that’s gonna pass though.
Glad you had a mostly good week! I have to say Pets in Space 2 sounds fun!

I still don’t feel fully well, but it’s nice it didn’t get too bad, but still annoying to have so many days where I felt slightly off. definitely seems like there;s something going around.
Pets in Space 2 is great. It has a bunch of short stories by different authors, some author I already knew and some new to me ones.
I snagged Southern Fried while it was on sale too. I loved it! From what I gather each book is better than the last. I’ll also be looking forward to your review for Dial Meow for Murder. I loved the first on in this series too!

Good to know each book gets better! It sounds like a great series. Dial Meow for Murder was really good!
I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with headaches but at least you can take medication. The only stuff that helps me with headaches is percecet and it makes me as sick as a dog so I don’t take it unless I can barely see straight. Hope this week is a good one for you.

Sometimes the medication works really good and other times I just have to wait them out. Thanks sound difficult that you have to make that hard choice between a headache and medicine that makes you sick.
I do love your Japanese curry and been meaning to cook one myself 😉
The shattered heir looks so good. Hope you’ll have a great week Lola!

Japanese curry is so good :). let me know how it turns out when you give it a try!
I was really tired this past week too! And I really couldn’t figure out why. Still, every night I was on the couch barely awake at 8pm. I’m glad you’re enjoying Pets In Space 2. I pre-ordered it so I’m excited to read it when it hits my Kindle.

It was so strange to be so tired, this week too. Weird to hear you also felt tired.
Pets in Space 2 is great :). I hope you’ll enjoy it when it you get around to reading it.
Sorry you didn’t feel well. I know exactly how that feels. It’s not fun. I hope that this week is better. Those novellas look good. Are they shifter books? I see giraffe and elephant. That could be really fun. I can’t wait to see your thoughts.
