The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week was very busy, but mostly because of good things. I celebrated Lola’s Blog Tours 4 year anniversary. I did a post about it on my site, sent out newsletters to my tour host and authors list about and I am celebrating with a discount on book blitzes and a giveaway for everyone. You can enter the giveaway here.
I also put two new sign-up posts live this week (one book blitz and one bookstagram blitz), sent out a media kit for a tour that starts next week and did some assistant work. On Wednesday I had a visit to the dentist, which is never fun, but luckily I had no cavities. We celebrated by buying a cinnamon bun.
Remember how last week I was afraid I would get into a reading slump? Well this week totally changed that around. I read a 5 star book and I bought a bunch of new books. Some of these I was waiting to release and others caught my attention.
Picture of the Week
Sorry no picture this week.
What did I read this week?
The Release was a 5 star read, Rituals was a 4 star read. It was a good week fo reading. The Release was so good. I actually e-mailed the author to let her know how much I enjoyed it. This series hit all the things I am looking for in a good sci-fi book. Rituals was a great ending to the series, but I had some issues too like a big bad guy that suddenly came out of nowhere and the choice thing that was a tad predictable.
What did I cook for dinner this week?
- Sunday: Mapo Tofu
- Monday: Tomato Pasta
- Tuesday: Tomato Pasta
- Wednesday: Spices Pointed Cabbage with tofu and cashew nuts
- Thursday: Spices Pointed Cabbage with tofu and cashew nuts
- Friday: soup with bread
- Saturday: Japanese Curry

– Review: Danger in the Stars by Veronica Scott
– Review: The Chase by Athena Grayson
What to expect next week on the blog:

Book Haul:
I splurged on books a bit this week. I bought al of these with some gift card money I won :). Except for A Chance this Christmas which I got for review through Netgalley. All of these books were $0.99. Some new to me authors and some I already know.
Freebies I grabbed:
You can stop by my facebook post here to see some freebies and cheap/ discounted book I found last week. Here’s the Facebook post for next week.
Hey! That’s great that Lola’s Tours is Four. Glad to see your business going strong and doing well. 🙂
Oh very nice with the latest of your series being a five star. And your second book a four. Definitely a good reading week.
Look at all the books. 🙂 I’m not familiar with these so I look forward to your thoughts on them.
Have another good week, Lola!

Thanks! It sure feels great to be celebrating my fourth anniversary already :).
It was such a good series and I heard there will actually be a season 2, so more books! Yay!
Yeah I got a lot of new books this week. I am really excited about all of these.
What a great haul!! And yay for no cavities….that is something to celebrate because getting teeth fixed is the WORST.

I really got a lot of books this week! I agree getting your teeth fixed is the worst, just like visiting the dentist. So I am always happy when I don’t have to return for a while.
Glad to hear you found a 5 star book. I’ve haven’t read anything in 2 days but I’m hoping to have some time today. Hopefully it’ll be a 5 star too.

I hope you get a 5 star read soon. It’s always great when you read a 5 star read 🙂
Happy blogoversary, Lola! I hope you have a lovely week, and I’m glad you had a 5-star book this week. Those always make the week brighter!

Thanks! You too!
Happy anniversary to your tour company! You’ve worked really hard so it’s great to see this success. I love how you treated yourself to something sweet after your dentist appointment. We do that too lol. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks! It really is awesome to look back now and see how far I’ve come.
Fun to hear you also treat yourself to something sweet after a dentist appointment.
Congrats on the blog tour anniversary! That’s awesome. And yay for no slump! I just got out of one myself. Also, glad to hear Rituals was mostly good. It does look like a fun end to a series.
Harvest and Dead in the Water both looks like they’re worth checking out.
Have a great week!

Thanks! I am glad I managed to evade the slump :). Rituals was a good ending of the series, even though I had some small issues with it too.
I read the first book in that Melle Amade series and it was great, so I had to get this one when it was $0.99. I read some books in Agatha Frost’s other series so I hope this one’s great too.
Oh look at the lovely book haul. I hope you enjoy ^_^. That’s great your book slump has turned around and that you had a great week.

It was a good haul this week :). And I am glad I managed to evade the slump.
Sounds like a good and productive week Lola! And yay for no cavities! Dentist always sucks, but the cinnamon bun sounds like nice compensation for a good visit 🙂
Enjoy all those new books! Have a great week 🙂

It was :). And I am so glad I had no cavities, I hate going to the dentist. There is a cinnamon bun store close to our dentist, so it’s hard to resist getting one after we visit the dentist.
I just realized I have a box set of the first three of those Athena Greyson books so I’m going to read those next after I finish the second Lindsay Buroker book in that box set that I got two weeks ago. I’m trying to take less time on social media and put it toward reading, and so far so good. It’s amazing how social media can totally entrap me though!
S. J. Pajonas recently posted…Sunday Update – September 17, 2017
Oh that’s awesome you already have some of Athena Grayson’s books. You probably have what now is book 1. From what I can tell she published them as 12 episodes first, then bundled them as box sets and now re-branded them and only sells them bundled in books. So each book contains 3 episodes :).
I have to try and fit in the first Lindsay Buroker book soon. I hope you’re enjoying book 2. That’s nice you’re spending more time reading. Social media can totally entrap me too, especially when i am tired, but I do enjoy it.
Happy Anniversary for your blog tours! That’s great you avoided a reading slump. 🙂

How exciting to reach 4 years, Lola and congratulations! You’ve got a great mix of books there for sure, and glad you got past the slump. No to the tofu, but yes to the Japanese Curry! Hugs…RO

Thanks Ro! It’s awesome to reach that 4 years milestone :). And I am glad I managed to avoid that slump. I really like tofu, but it definitely depends on how you prepare it. And Japanese curry is so good!
