sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a busy week, but mostly a good one. I did have a few days where I felt a bit off and worried too much and thing didn’t go fully smoothly, but besides that it was a good and productive week. I got a lot of work done this week, some marketing assistant work, got two new cover reveals and a tour open for sign-up and wrapped up two tours that were going on. It was one of those weeks were I didn’t seem to be able to get enough sleep though and I even took a nap on two days. I hope I can get caught up on sleep soon.

I’ve been playing a clicker game called Plantera this week, you run your own garden/ farm and you have to click on things to get money. When you’re not playing your helpers still collect money and with the money you can more plants and animals. It’s very low key and addictive at the same time. Perfect for playing after a long day work or as a small break.

Lats weekend we watched the movie Ratatouille and I ended up writing a whole review about it as I loved the movie! I knew writing something in my Sunday post wouldn’t do it justice. Although it did make me miss our pet rats. It was great to see a movie that displays rats in a positive light.

Picture of the Week

Sorry forgot to take a picture this week πŸ™

What did I read this week?

His to ProtectI'm Not Afraid of WolvesJared

It was a good reading week! I managed to finish four books! Besides those listed above I also finished I Found my Rhino by Erin Hayes, cover isn’t revealed yet, so I haven’t included it above. I had a lot of fun with that one. His to Protect was a good one, a steamy romance and focused on coats guard/ rescue work. I’m Not Afraid of Wolves was a great read with so many twists. Jared was a great ending to the trilogy and I really enjoyed it! I hope to start the spin-off series Wilding pack soon.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

Book Haul:

Wreck of the Nebula DreamLady of the Star WindMuffins and Mourning Tea

Wreck of the Nebula Dream and Lady of the Star Wind were both 0.99$ and I got them with my amazon gift card money. I read one of Veronica her short stories in a sci-fi anthology and was curious to read a full length novel by her. I got a bit of a scare when I saw Goodreads listed Lady of the Star Wind as book 6, but the author said they can be read as standalone and she send me to the reading order on her site. And I got the next oxford Tearoom Mystery book for review! It’s an amazing series and I am really excited to be reading this one now! Oh and the cover is green, which fits my blog design nicely ;).

Freebies I grabbed:

I got the following freebies this week (they were free when I got them): Legacy (science fiction), The Last Descendant (Fantasy), Sourdough Creek (Historical Romance) and The Medium (Paranormal Historical Romance)

  1. Yay for a good week. Love to see you keeping busy. Ratatouille was adorable and I’ve re-watched it a few times. Bet you loved it since it was rats and food. πŸ˜‰

You got some good reading time in with four books, but sorry your sleep is a bit messed up.

The Coast Guard rescue story looks good and yay that your shifter triology ended strong.

I snagged the Legacy freebie, too.

    • I do plan to re-watch Ratatouille in the future, it was such a fun movie. And yes that’s exactly what I say in my review, it has rats and food and I love both :).

Not sure what happened with the sleep, Just got a bit too little sleep each night and it adds up.

I had to think of the rescue type series you reviewed recently when I was reading the coast guard one. It was interesting to get a glimpse into that world. And I really enjoyed the shifter trilogy and one of the side characters will be the main character in the first Wilding Pack book. So I am hoping to start the spin-off series soon.

  2. Sometimes busy is good πŸ™‚ You had never seen Ratattouille? It is cute, and I can definitely see why you’d like it even more because of the rats!

Wow, four books! And it sounds like they were good ones too. I’m glad you had a good reading week πŸ™‚ And haha, I love when book covers fit with my blog’s color scheme.

I grabbed The Medium freebie. Admittedly I didn’t read the blurb, but you said it’s paranormal and historical, and it’s free, so nothing to lose lol. Have a great week!

    • Nope until now I hadn’t seen Ratatouille and I am so glad we finally watched it. the rats were one of my favorite parts of the movie. I love rats!

I felt so happy with the four books read in one week and I just finished another one today, so that’s a good start for next week. The Muffins and Mourning Tea fits so well with my blog scheme it was nice. Maybe I’ll have to do a green cover posts once.

I am glad to hear you grabbed one of the freebies. The medium sounded very interesting and it has an interesting combination of genres as well.

    • My problem is more going to sleep too late and then forcing myself to stand up at a reasonable time again. This week went better luckily.
I am sorry you had such a bad slump this summer. I hope Harry Potter will help!

    • I hope you get the chance to check it out! I thought it was a really good movie. I haven’t watched zootopia yet, but it’s on my list of movies I want to watch. It sounds like a fun one.

  3. Ratatouille is such a cute move and don’t think it gets enough attention like my favorite Wreck-It-Ralph. Don’t know why they push some movies and not others.

You had a busy week and I haven’t gotten enough sleep since school started. Getting up really early is taking a toll on me productively and reading wise. But I was productive this week and that made me excited. πŸ™‚

Is Plantra on the computer or mobile devise? I want to try it πŸ™‚ I have been playing Disney Kingdoms and love it. Need to get my app reviews done since I have a ton I want to write.

Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • I felt like Ratatouille never got as hyped as other movies, I had heard of it, but it didn’t seem as popular. Although wikipedia says the movie actually was one of their more successful movies so it must have sold well. It was such a great movie and I loved how they animated the rats. They all moved so realistically.

A productive week is always good. I hope you can get some extra sleep soon too! Getting not enough sleep can really make me grumpy.

I play Plantera on the computer, but it might work on mobile too, not sure. It really is a fun and low key game. I like checking in and see how my garden is doing, buying a few new things and clicking. It’s strangely relaxing to just click.

  4. I still haven’t seen Ratatouille but I’ve only ever heard good things, so I’m glad you enjoyed it. I can see how it would make you miss the rats πŸ™ Sorry you felt kind of off this week – I bet it’s because of the sleep. Hopefully you’ll get caught up and all will be good. Have a great week!

    • It really was a great movie, even though it did make me miss my rats. I wish I would’ve been able to watch it with them. They always liked sitting with us when we watched movies.

I think it’s because of the lack of sleep indeed, so I hope I can get caught up on sleep soon and I’ll feel better then. I already got some more sleep this weekend, which helped a lot already.

  5. I love the freebies and finding a really good deal on Amazon. Another blogger mentioned a book and I checked and it was 1.99, that was awesome. Glad you had a good week. Mine was pretty good too other than being sick, but that was only a couple days. Curious about Faerie Wrath, and I’m thinking of doing some challenges next year, since I didn’t do any in 2016.

    • I love finding freebies and discounted books. It always makes me happy when I can try out a new book or author for a cheap price like that as it means I can buy more books that way :).
Sorry to hear you were sick, but I am glad to hear you had a good week too besides that. I always find it fun to do some challenges, although there are some of them I am doing really bad on and others that I already met my goal for.

    • I am subscribed to a lot of author newsletters and then I get bookbub every day and I follow a lot of bloggers and author on social media. they often share freebies and discounts of books and when a freebie catches my eye I pick it up. To be honest by now I can’t even tell you anymore where specifically I found these.
There are also things like instafreebie and other free and discounted newsletter that talk about free books. I sometimes go directly to amazon and check freebies there, but only if I am looking for a specific genre, usually I hear form the freebies somewhere else and then get them on amazon or Kobo.

    • Naps can be great when you need one. I quite enjoy a good nap now and then. And yes it was mostly a good week and a productive one. Ratatouille really was a great movie!

    • This is a game for which you pay once I think and after that it’s only in game money that you collect by farming the plants and then use to buy new plants. Some of those free fb games can be a lot fun too. Japanese curry is really good, I hope you’ll give it a try!

  6. Oh yay! You got some Veronica Scott books! I love her. She’s a great person, along with a great author. I’m not familiar with clicking games, but to be honest, I’m horrible with video games. I never play them! My kids do though. πŸ™‚ I saw that you have a lot of new cover reveals and what not this past week. That’s great! I’m so glad business has been steady!
    S. J. Pajonas recently posted…Sunday Update – September 25, 2016My Profile

    • I’ve had some of Veronica Scott her books on my wishlist since I read her short story in Romancing the Stars. She really seems like a nice person. I e-mailed her when I got Lady fo the Star Wind as I was confused about the reading order and she quickly and nicely replied and showed me were to find the reading order for her books. Now let’s hope I can get around to reading these two soon. I was so excited to get them for such a good price.

I love video games, but not always have as much time to play. This game is really neat as you can just check in for a while, although I always end up playing for a few minutes and clicking away. Clicker games are basically games were all you have to do is click on things. It’s strangely relaxing and addictive.

It was a good week with the new tour and cover reveals. I hope business keeps being steady, but I figure I’ll probably have some slower weeks now. It usually seems to come in waves.

  7. I’m happy you had a productive week work-wise and a great week of reading! Hopefully this week has been better sleep-wise and that worried-feeling is gone. I have played catch-up this week as I spent 4 days in Portland visiting my daughter. It was great fun though! I’m looking forward to your reviews of His to Protect, I’m Not Afraid of Wolves, and Jared. πŸ˜€
