The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a pretty decent week. My boyfriend started his new job this week and while it takes some getting used to the new schedule/ routine, this week went surprisingly well. So far he’s doing a lot of learning at his new job, so hard to say how it will be in the long run, but so far he’s liking it. While this week’s schedule was a bit different than usual and there was a night of not so good sleep, most of the week went quite smoothly. I just hope it continues this way.
I found some new moments to listen to my audiobook and am making some good progress on my current listen. I also got some baking done. I tried out a new recipe for mini cheesecakes which you make in a muffin tin, which turned out awesome. See picture below. I really like cheesecake and this was such an easy recipe and delicious too. The muffins forms make for a fun shape to eat it as well. What are your favorite types of cake and pie?
And I made some peach crumble as well, you can find my crumble recipe here. I also made some time for gaming, we’re still playing Outward and it’s a great game if you’re looking for a fun fantasy game with focus on exploring and with a more realistic combat system where losing actually has consequences.
In terms of work this week was back to normal instead of the busier weeks I had recently, which was a nice change. I did my usual assistant work hours and I worked on some future things for Lola’s Blog Tours, now that I had a bit of time available to spend on that. I sent out a newsletter for my author mailing list and got some great feedback about a new service I am hoping to add to my site soon.
I am running a giveaway for 2 e-copies of Finding Tranquility. You can read my review here, which went live on my blog this week. Scroll down a bit to enter the giveaway or visit my review post to enter it there.

What did I read this week?
The Dragon Mistress Book 1 was an awesome start of this series. I love being back in this world and it was fun to follow Frella’s adventures. I like her character and the four men she meets all seem interesting. There is a bit of romance, plenty of adventure and dragons. I dived right into book, The Dragon Mistress Book 2, after finishing book 1. And book 2 was great too, although I enjoyed it slightly less than book 1 as the pace could be a bit slow at times due to all the waiting. It had some interesting development both on the topic of the dragons as well as the romance and characters. Revenge is Sweet was a DNF, I didn’t care about the story or connect to the characters. The writing style didn’t work for me and the dialogue felt stilted. I liked the theme of a sweets shop and the basket shop though.
Food Corner
For today’s food corner I wanted to put my Couscous salad recipe in the spotlight. I made this last weekend and ever since I first made it, it’s been one of my staple recipes that I like to make now and then. It has such a great combination of flavors with the pistachio nuts, apricots as well as the couscous and the vegetables. My boyfriend also likes to add some blue cheese to his salad, while I stick with just a bit of freshly ground salt. You can also easily vary with different types of nuts or fruits or vegetables to easily change up this recipe or adjust it to your taste. I really hope you give this one a try.

Sounds like a nice week all-around for your boyfriend’s job, trying new recipes, and your work. Glad to see that!
I do a cous cous chilled fruit salad in summer, but your warm one does sound good.
Have a good week, Lola!

It was a nice week all around. This couscous salad is more half warm as some of the ingredients are warm and others not, it works well.
I love cheesecake, especially lemon with a swirl of lemon curd.
Wishing you a great reading week

I ate the mini cheesecakes with some lemon curd on top, it was great!
I love couscous but I’ve never used it in a salad so that sounds great. I love cheesecake and that looks good.

Couscous works quite well in a salad, or at least in this one. I love cheesecake and don’t make it nearly often enough, so I was glad I gave this mini cheesecake recipe a try.
I just got a look at your recipe because it looks so good and easy to make too! Have a wonderful week.
Yes it’s a relatively easy to make recipe. I hope you give it a try 🙂
I love the look of the couscous sald – and I’m glad that things are going well for your boyfriend. Being happy at work is so very important!
The couscous salad is great, I hope you give it a try :). I am glad his new job is going well so far.
I love cheesecake! And it looks very cute and delicious with the muffin form 🙂 I would love it if you shared a recipe for that as well.

Cheesecake is delicious and the muffin form was a great idea, they are easy to eat this way and look so cute. The recipe for it will be up in a few months :).
Yummy cheesecake is my weakness. I could go for a slice with lemon and maybe a nice earl tea. Hope this week is a good one too!
Same here, I can’t resist cheesecake, it’s so good! I ate some lemon curd on top, it was awesome.
You really can’t go wrong with cake or pie. Unless it is banana, I can’t stand bananas. Sorry about the night without much sleep. I hate those nights. I hope your boyfriend ends up really liking his job. I hope you have a great week, Lola!

I do like bananas and banana bread :). It takes a bit of time adjusting out scheduled with my boyfriend’s new job, hopefully in a few weeks we have it all sorted out.
