sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was a bit better than the last one with less stress, but it was still a tiring week. I didn’t sleep well for a few days and I quickly get tired then. It was a good week for work, I had two tours I organized started, I managed to keep up with the rest of the work surrounding Lola’s Blog Tours. I did a good amount of hours of assistant work and I did some preparation for an upcoming giveaway.

On Tuesday I visited my mom and my sister was there as well. We had a nice lunch with the three of us. we chatted and caught up on things and ate good food. I also got most of Christmas shopping done this week. I hadn’t done anything yet, so realizing Christmas would be here soon we made sure to get all the presents sorted this week. I am still waiting for one thing to arrive and I still have to gift wrap everything, but I am glad to have everything ordered and most of the items in home already.

I have this weird reading mood going on, I’ve been enjoying the books I read, but can’t quite find the book I am looking for. It’s frustrating as when i am tired like this I just want to lose myself in a good book. Luckily Lost Flyght arrived this week and I hope that cures this weird reading mood. I just started reading it.

What did I read this week?

The Good, The Bad and the DadGhostromanceThe Mousse Wonderful Time of the Year

The Good, The Bad and the Dad was another good read in this series, it was nice to see this one feature a polyamory relationship. It just would’ve liked to see a bit more of how they all made it work after they decide to give it a try and the start was a bit slow with 3 characters that needed to be introduced. Ghostromance had a unique and interesting set-up, but it wasn’t gripping me as much as I wanted and the main character thought and talked a bit too much about how ugly she was, which got annoying after a while instead of refreshing. I liked the romance so far and the paranormal world introduction was well done. The Mousse Wonderful Time of Year was a fun Christmas themed cozy mystery, the start felt a bit forced with getting all the characters in the same setting, but I did like trying to figure out the mystery and reading about a British Christmas. I guessed the murderer right, but had no clue at their motive until that got revealed.

Food Corner

Today’s feature is on baking with fruit in them. Or actually only with apple or banana as those are apparently the only two fruits I bake with, lol. Although I’ve done the crumble with peaches and blueberries as well, but the recipe is the same just swap the fruits. oh and this reminds me there’s this banana coconut cake recipe I still need to type out.

Book Haul:

The Mousse Wonderful Time of the YearLost FlyghtA Falling Starr

I got all these three books for review. The Mousse Wonderful Time of the Year and Lost Flyght are both series that I am following and I got the next book for review. I already finished reading The Mousse Wonderful Time of Year and just started Lost Flyght. A Falling Starr I got for review through Netgalley, normally I am not a fan of memory loss storylines, but sometimes about this one caught my attention and the scifi twist sounds interesting.

  1. Glad your week was a little better. Sometimes the holidays are worse even though there are so many fun things going on. Yay for getting all your gifts sorted and for a fun visit with family. I’ve got mine all purchased and had to order some so waiting for several to arrive then I can start wrapping and doing up the box to ship to family.
Wow, two of your favorite series came in one week. Neat that Lost Flyght got you excited about reading again.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • The holidays sure can be worse in some ways, it is a busy time. I am glad I got my gifts all sorted, so I don’t have to worry about that anymore and the visit was fun. I still have to do my wrapping.

It was awesome to have two books in series I like arrive this week :).

    • I hope you can find some time to get your Christmas shopping done soon. It really is nice to have all the shopping done already so I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I found some great reads this week luckily

    • I really like banana bread too. I have to make some again soon.

It’s annoying when you have one of those reading moods where nothing stands out to you.

  2. I’m glad this week wasn’t quite so stressful, and I hope you manage to sleep better in the coming week:)). I need to catch up on the Flyght series – I loved the first book. And many thanks for those scrummy apple recipes – a number of them could be converted to vegan treats, I reckon. Have a lovely week, Lola.

    • I managed to sleep a bit better this week luckily. I really like the Flyght series so far. I am sure you can convert some of them to vegan if you like, most of them only contain butter that you need to replace. Cookies I often make using flax eggs which works great to replace the eggs.

    • Thanks! I am happy to have my Christmas shopping done already. I hope you can finish your shopping soon, it’s nice you’re almost done with it.
