sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was an okay week. I still struggled with being tired, but I got quite a bit of work done and had some fun too. I did my best to sleep enough every night in hopes that it would help against my feelings of tiredness, but most days I still felt tired. I think I am doing a bit better now, so I hope it stays that way.

It was a good week for work. I am working on a new blog tour sign-up, that I hope to have live next week. I did some other Lola’s Blog Tours work. And I did some hours of assistant work.

My battle with the mildew continued this week. The mildew is getting less, but it is very slow going. After starting with baking soda and vinegar and I now switched tactics. I bought a sprayer like the ones you use for plants and I fill that with vinegar and water and spray that on the spots each day. I also did some other cleaning around the house. It’s always nice to do a bout of cleaning and have the house look nice afterwards.

My boyfriend and I went out for lunch at a place close by that we wanted to try. We both had a scone and a piece of pie. The scones were really good and the pies were great too. I had a great cheesecake and my boyfriend had a chocolate cake. Definitely will be back as they had lots of other pies (both savory and sweet ones) that I want to try.

I finished a puzzle this week! I’ve been into doing my jigsaw puzzles again lately and I finished the one I was working on. It had been on the floor for months as I took a break from puzzling for a while, so it was great to finally finish it. And I already started a new one. I also bought a new plant this week (it was discounted, lol!) as a while ago some plants died and we had some empty plant pots around. I really like the new plant and it’s nice to have some extra green in the house.

A while ago this site re-launched and it’s a great resource for sci-fi romance fans. They feature books in the genre and you can sign-up for the newsletter and receive one weekly newsletter with new books that are added.

What did I read this week?

Spellcaster AcademyStarseersTails of the Deep

Spellcaster Academy was a fun introduction to the series, but didn’t fully pull me in. It was pretty fast paced, but only a few places that felt a bit rushed. There are some big happenings already in the first episode which was nice and I liked her cat Nine. Starseers was another great read in this series, I like how it continues with the same vibe as the previous books with lots of action and the characters getting in trouble and out of it again. In this book they meet the starseers, which was interesting. Tails of The Deep was a fun mermaid cozy mystery, while the mystery wasn’t as strong as in most cozies, it just was a lot of fun to read.

    • The sprayer is pretty handy. Sorry to hear you’re feeling tired too, that does sound tiring to work two jobs. And the heat also makes me feel more tired. I hope you can get some time at the pool soon.

    • Yes I would’ve guessed that right that paranormal romance is your favorite genre :).

The mildew problem goes quite slow this way, but I rather use vinegar than bleach, so guess I just have to be patient.

  1. The hot weather always makes mildew in my bathroom. No matter how much I clean it, it still comes back. I have a spray that is for mildew that works great and if I use it everytime I clean it keeps the mildew away pretty good. My kids take steaming showers and with it hot outside it can’t be stopped.

Sorry you have been so tired. The meds I am on make me so tired but I have been doing better with it but still trying to keep hydrated which seems to cause a lot of the tiredness I have.

The little shop sounds so nice and sounds super yummy!

Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • I hope once I get it all gone I can keep it up by spraying with vinegar regularly.

I am sorry to hear you have been tired too because of your meds. I am not sure what causes my tiredness, I need a lot of sleep, so that’s probably it.

      It was a great shop!

    • I don’t think I’ve had caramel cheesecake yet, but that does sound good as I liked most cheesecakes I tried so far

Same her,e I couldn’t just read one. I like switching between genres. And my fav genre varies from moment to moment.

  2. My favourite genre to read it UF or contemporary romance. UF with a strong romance is probably my version of reading heaven.

I’m glad you had a good week even though you’re still a bit tired! Hopefully your energy levels pick up.

    • I enjoy both those genres too! Although I haven’t been reading a lot of either this year so far, it really varies form time to time what i read most.

    • I am trying to get rid of some mildew that’s been here for a while, but it’s slow going.

The lunch was great. And I am so happy with the new plant.

    • I hope I’ll enjoy A Long Way, it sounds really good and after all the good things you had to say about it I am really curious about it 🙂

It was a great place and the cheesecake was so good!
