sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

While not as busy as previous weeks, this week was still plenty full. I did some catching up on work that feel to the wayside in the previous busy weeks. I also was quite busy with Lola’s Blog Tours work this week. I put a new sign-up post live for a new blog tour. I also sent out the media kit for the tour that starts next week. Three new tours got booked this week too, so I will be working on those next week hopefully and have some more new sign-up post live soon. I am really excited to see my tour work picking up a bit again.

On Tuesday I visited my mom and we had lunch at her place, my sister was there too. We caught up, ate and drank tea. We also had a yummy smoothie that my mom made. She had baked pancakes and made scones as well.

I also visited the sheep close by again and fed them some apples. And I finally remembered to take some pictures so here they are. This is not from the same time as I fed them apples as they are way too excited when I feed them and won’t stand still for pictures. These pictures were taken on an overcast day when it wasn’t too warm, as when it’s warm they only sit beneath their shelter or one of the trees for shade. Their wool has recently been shaved, so that’s why it’s so short now.

Audiobook Challenge 2019 mid year check in

Audiobook Challenge 2019
My plan was to read at least 12 audiobooks this year. So I set my goal at Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15. I am now at 9 audiobooks, I listed the ones I listened to below. I am pretty happy with how many audiobooks I listened to so far and I hope I can get to the 15 at least. My favorite of these is Jumper’s Hope which got a rare 5 star rating, I loved this book. The Lily Singer series, the Love Lies and Hocus Pocus books are really amazing in audio format and I enjoy re-reading the series this way. Most of these audiobooks were great and I am really enjoying audiobooks so far.

  1. Whew, audiobooks are my main way of getting through books lately – so I’m going to guess 30+ audiobooks so far this year. I’m glad you’re enjoying them too!!

The sheep look so adorable, I can only imagine how cute they must be when they get excited for the apples 😁

Hope you have another good, productive week!

    • That’s awesome you listened to 30+ audiobooks. I am really enjoying audiobooks, but I notice some weeks I listen less than others.

The sheep are so cute. I just bought some apples so I can feed them again soon.

  2. Ah, cute sheep, and I’ll bet they’re happy to be shorn for the suumer months. Glad you enjoyed time with your mom and sister and got some side work done that you hadn’t had time for.

Way to go on the audio challenge numbers. I’m doing the challenge, too, and got ahead on my goal so I’m hoping to press forward to a new level by the end of the year. It’s funny you mention Jumper’s Hope as your favorite. I was just reading one of the author’s blog posts where she said that this is the story that originally came into her mind first, but then she knew she had to write the other stories as backstory for this one so the reader wouldn’t get lost in all the political intrigue side. Fun facts! 🙂

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I am sure they’re happy to finally be shorn, they only got shorn a few weeks ago and they seemed quite warm. They still aren’t very active when it’s too warm tough.

I am so happy to see how many audio’s I listened to already. Neat that you’re also ahead on your goal. That is a fun bit of info that Jumper’s Hope came to her first. I think she plans to release the next ice age shifter book next month, I am looking forward to that one.

    • It was hard to get some nice pictures of them, but that one sheep just kept looking at me, so I could get a nice picture of her. They seem to like it when I come by with apples, they run toward me and the apples are gone before I know it.

  3. I love the sheep, too:)). I’ve also been listening to audiobooks while decorating the bathroom and loving it! The glory is that there are more than a handful of books there that I wouldn’t want to trudge through by reading them, but listening is just plain fun:).Have a great week, Lola.

    • Thanks! Audiobooks are great for those times when you have the attention to listen, but not your eyes or hands available to hold and read a book. Reading while decorating your bathroom sounds like a good idea. I’ve had some books I probably wouldn’t want to read, but listening to them is fun.

  4. I am a baby as far as audiobooks are concerned as I began listening to them in January! So far I must have listened to 7 or 8 so more than one a month. I am hooked but also very peculiar on the voice.
Oh and your couscous seems amazing!

    • I only began listening end last year, so I am still pretty new to audiobooks too and still finding my way with them. I also average about one or a bit more per month. And I am pretty peculiar on the voice too, I always listen to a sample first and often can already hear whether a voice will work for me or not then.

    • I really like scones. I haven’t made them myself yet. I hope your scones turned out good if you decided to make some.

  5. Sounds like a productive week! I love sheep. They’re so precious, honestly. And, you’ve made some pretty good progress with the audiobooks! Especially compared to me. I was like, at the start of the year, this year I’m going to read (insert number) audiobooks this year! Six months into the year, I’ve accomplished absolutely none of them! Haha. Have a good week!

    • I agree, they’re so cute and peaceful. I am glad with how many audiobooks I listened to so far. I am still pretty new to audio’s so I hadn’t expected to do so well, but I found some ways to fit them into my schedule.

  6. I really need to start listening to audio more but I do love reading too. 🙂
I love the sheep, I think it’s so cool that you can go visit them.

I hope this week is awesome for you, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • I really like listening to audio’s, but I still read way more. I now always have an audio going on for those moments where I cna’t read, but can listen.

It’s really fun to have sheep close by that I can visit :). They’re so cute!

  7. I love audiobooks! You are doing good and I have listened to one of yours Murder’s a Witch and read two others from your list of audios so hope they were cool on audio! I love the Christmas Tree Farm mysteries!

How many audios have I listened to this year…hmmm…let me go see…29 so far! 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

    • The Christmas Tree Farm Mysteries were quite fun. I still have to continue the Murder’s A Witch series, but I enjoyed book 1

29 audios so far is awesome! I only seem to get through a little more than once a month at the moment.
