sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty decent week. Not really any good or outstanding things happened, but not too many bad things either, so I count that as a win. I went for a walk again most days. The weather was pretty pleasant this week, some overcast days, but no rain and most days were a good temperature.

On Tuesday the bookstagram blitz I had organized ended so I wrapped that up. And I worked on a new blog tour sign-up post that went live yesterday. I did some hours of assistant work as well. It was a pretty busy and productive week in terms of work.

On Thursday evening I had a bad headache and decided to bake cookies instead of doing some work and I made these delicious banana snickerdoodles cookies. This was my first attempt at making these, but they turned out great. Will share the recipe on my blog eventually.

Besides that I managed to finish two books, listened to some audiobook and got some new books for review. I also played some Islanders again. We finished watching The Orville season 2, which was great. But now we’re not fully sure what to watch.

What did I read this week?

Taboo For YouBelinda Blake and the snake in the grass

Taboo For You was a great romance read, I especially liked the sweet scenes, but there was a secret that bothered me. Belinda Blake and the Snake in the Grass was a decent cozy mystery, but not quite for me. Lost of small things that didn’t work for me, but the mystery was well done.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Grenville by JC Hay
Lola’s Kitchen: Bean Mix with bacon Recipe
I shared a review and a recipe post on the blog today. Grenville is a great scifi romance read with adorable umbra wolves that the rangers bond with. It had a good romance too. If you like beans you might want to check out the bean mix recipe, there are beans, corn and bacon in it and it’s served with potatoes.

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Doom And Bloom by H.Y Hanna
– Review: The Lion Mistress Book 2 by RA Steffan
For next week I have two review scheduled. Doom and Bloom was an awesome cozy mystery, the third book in this garden themed series. And The Lion Mistress Book 2 is the second book in a fantasy romance polyamory series. I love the world and the characters and this was a great sequel.

  1. A calm week is always welcome and glad you were able to finish up a few work projects. Those cookies sound good. I only got to walk twice, but hopefully I’ll get out more next week.
Nice that your first book was pretty good even if the second had some problematic stuff that kept you only liking it.
I finally read the JC Hay story in Pets in Space 3. It’s part of your wolf series. I loved the story and the world, but not that heroine. I’ll definitely be trying more.

    Have a great week, Lola

    • It was nice to have a calm week and get some work done. The cookies were really good. I hope you got to go out more this week.

I wasn’t a fan of the heroine in that story either, but it is a great world and I like the wolves!

  2. I am sorry to hear about your headache Lola! It seems many of us suffered from migraine this week. I hope next week won’t be just decent but fantastic!!!

  3. Bummer they don’t have Islander for my computer. The game looks really interesting. I have been back to playing Star Stable again. They are coming out with a new horse next week and I do love my horses 🙂

Sorry you had a headache! That is no fun but I am glad you were productive, I need to get productive lol. I finished your banner, check your email.

Hope this week is awesome for you Lola! Happy Reading! xxx

    • That’s too bad they don’t have Islanders for your computer :(. It’s a fun game. That’s nice you’ve been playing Star Sable again.

The headache was no fun, but at least i got to bake some cookies.

  4. I love that when you had a headache you baked cookies!

    • It was the perfect activity to do while I had a headache as it was easier to focus on and made me relax a bit. I should keep it in mind for my next headache.

It’s difficult to take it slow when you’re watching a series you really enjoy.

    • I am really happy I started walking, it’s a great addition to my days. The cookies were new for me too, but it actually was a great combination.
