The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was another full and busy week. I put a new sign-up post for a book blitz live and a new Christmas themed review opportunity. I also fit in a bunch of extra hours for one of my authors and did my standard hours for most of my other authors.
I finished listening to my second audiobook, it was really good and I started listening to book 3 in the series already. It’s been a pretty good reading week and I like how audiobooks help me read more already. I haven’t had as much time for blog visiting and replying to comment as usual, but I hope to do more of that next week. I also hope to work on my favorite reads of 2019 post next week, so I can have it live by 31 December.
As for my burn wound update. It is recovering well, still a little bit red, but looking better each day. The smallest burns already colored back a lot more to my normal skin color, but the bigger burns take a bit longer.
I had some ereader troubles this week, after doing an update my e-reader was unresponsive and I had to do a hard reboot and lost all my books. Then when I tried to do the first set up again the Kobo program wouldn’t work well with my ereader. I spent a lot of time trying to fix it and then asking support for help. In the end we found a work around to skip the setup and use another program to put books on my ereader. It’s not ideal, but at least it works and I can still read on my ereader.
I’ve decided to join Hot Listens and Caffeinated Reviewer’s audiobook challenge. Now that I am getting into audiobooks I thought it would be fun to join this challenge. I hope to read at least 12 audiobooks next year. So I set my goal at Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15.
What did I read this week?
I finished 3 books this week. The Lion Mistress Book 1 was a good read, but due to my high expectations and the main character being a bit difficult to like at first I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I hope I’ll enjoy book 2 more as it is a great start to the series. Over The Falls was such a fun read with two great main characters who slowly fall in love and an awesome setting in a beach town. Minder Rising is the second audiobook I listened to and I love the narration for this series and it’s fun to re-read these before book 5 comes out.

Book Haul:
I Know Lucy and Set Me Free I bought as part of a box set that had both books and which was for sale for only 99 cents. Shifting Destiny I bought when it was only 99 cents as it has at least one story in it that I want to read and I hope I can find some new to me authors in this one as well. Breakaway also was 99 cents and had been on my wishlist for a bit, so I bought a copy. Lera of Lunos I got for review and it’s the fourth and last book in this series, I already read and enjoyed the first 3 books.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Thanks! I hope you had a lovely Christmas too.
I don’t usually join any reading challenges. But I do track how many books I’ve read throughout the year which I post on the last day of the year. I didn’t reach 100 this year but maybe next year I will. Glad to hear your burn is healing.

I also track how many books I read in a year. It’s fun to look back and see how many books you read.
Damn I would be really upset if I had the same problems with my ereader! I hope next week will go more smoothly for you Lola and Merry Christmas!
It made me quite upset. I am happy it’s sort of working again, but it’s a pain it’s not working correctly and I had to add my books anew.
That’s great that you are still getting steady business into the last weeks of the year. Good news that your burn is healing so well.
Ouch on the ereader woes, though.
Yay, I’m doing the audio challenge, too. It will be fun to see how you do in your first full year of listening to audios. I completely agree about CGC being a wonderful series on audio with Nicole Poole narrating.
Nice haul you were able to get with the sales going on right now. I picked up one book on sale, but added 3 review ones (they release in late March).
Have a wonderful Christmas, Lola!

I am happy I had some steady business these past few weeks, so I have three tours for January scheduled now.
It was a pain to have my ereader acting up, I am just happy I can read on it again.
How fun you’re doing the audio challenge too. I am curious how my first full year of audios will go. I love the CGC series and I might like them even more on audio, the narration is so well done.
It was nice to get some books I wanted while they were on sale.
Glad to hear you are healing up nicely! Burns always take such a long time to heal.
Enjoy all your new books!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Lola! Happy Reading!
I am surprised at how long the burn takes to heal. It’s still a bit red.
I got your Christmas card this week, thanks!
I am glad the burn is healing – they are always so very painful and horrible if they go squishy… I hope you have a lovely Christmas, Lola:)
Now the skin is mostly healed, just a bit red still. I never realized how long burn take to heal.
I signed up for another review you offered. I’ve been enjoyed the Spine Chillers series and was excited to see The Krampus book. I’m glad you are healing nicely and wish you a Marry Christmas, Lola:)

Thanks for signing up to review Krampus. I am glad you’re enjoying the series :).
At this moment, I am reading mostly audiobooks. I listen to them when feeding the baby, when exercising, and when doing housework. I get maybe 25 pages read in a day of hard or ebooks.
I am mostly reading ebooks, but I am glad to have added audiobooks as I get even more reading done now.
I’m happy to hear you are enjoying audiobooks. I love them. I’ll also be doing the audiobook challenge, as well as New Releases and Library Love. I also always do COYER. They all fit into my reading patterns well. One day soon I will need to consider a Beat the Backlist type challenge for all the books I own but haven’t read.
Happy Holidays! I hope you have a great week! Anne – Books of My Heart

I am so glad I gave audiobooks a try. I am also joining the new releases and coyer challenges. I tried a backlist challenge one year, but didn’t do so well.
Glad your burns are healing and that you’re still enjoying audiobooks 🙂 Sorry about the ereader situation. That’s good you at least got it working. Did you get all your books back though?

I am glad I got my ereader working again, but it sure was a hassle and still is. I saved most of the books on my computer, so I still have them there, but I can’t remember all the books that were on my e-reader so I just add them whenever I think of a book.
I’m glad your burning is healing nicely! That’s a relief. 🙂 I’ll also be joining the audiobook challenge at the stenographer level again. It seems like 12-15 audiobooks is the right challenge for me. I’ll be putting my post up this weekend.

I am glad it’s healing so well, it’s still a bit red, so I hope that goes away soon. How fun you’re joining the audiobook challenge at the same level as me :). 12-15 audiobooks sounds like the right amount for me for a year, but guess we’ll find out next year how many I can listen to.
