The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Itβs a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a pretty good week! It was again a busy week, I got quite some assistant work done and some tour work as well. I announced the discount I am running on Lola’s Blog Tours in January and February! All tours that run during those months will be discounted with 20$!
Sadly I have fallen behind on replying to comments again, I didn’t get to catch up last Sunday, so I tried to catch up a bit during the week, which did work a bit, but I am still more behind than I like. I hope I can get caught up and do some blog visiting today. I also haven’t gotten much blogging done the last few months and if things continue like this I am afraid early 2017 won’t have many Ramblings posts as so far I don’t have any ramblings posts scheduled for next year, but I do have a few kitchen posts scheduled at least.
I got an amazon gift card from an author I did some work for this year. It was such a pleasant surprise to wake up to! And then the next day I got an e-mail I had won an amazon gift card during the Black Friday Book Bonanza hop on Second Run Reviews. I wa sso happy with the gift cards and I already bought two books with the gift card money.
We finished watching Star Trek Enterprise, really enjoyed this series. I really have grown the like all the main characters in this one and it’s been fun to see how Star Fleet and started out and how a lot of the technology was different then. Although i thought the last episode wasn’t as good. That seems to be a trend so far as the ending of Voyager and deep Space 9 both felt a bit off too. But this ending episode is the worst of all three, really didn’t like how they handled it, it just felt off the whole episode. Just going to pretend my own ending to the series that i like better. We’re probably going to watch Star Gate next.
Picture of the Week
I tried out a new recipe this week that tuned out pretty well. I already wrote most of the recipe post for this. It was rice with broccoli and tofu. the broccoli was baked with some onion in soy sauce. And the tofu had a sweet and salty peanut sauce. I am really happy with how the dish turned out. And I am always happy to find a new sauce that works well with tofu.
What did I read this week?
For a chance I had a really good reading week! I finished both The Jakkattu vector and Teach Your Heart early this week and already reviewed both of them on the blog this week. Then I finished Beauty and the Space Beast which was a fun read, although I had some issues with it as well. And yesterday I finished December, which was a great ending to the series and left me feeling happy with how things ended. Those last two books were both novella length so that’s why I managed to read so much in one week.

I enjoyed Stargate SGI up until season nine when a character I hated became a regular and the bad guys were bland. I loved Stargate Atlantis! Didn’t like the other spinoff with Robert Carlisle though-disliked too many characters. It’s funny that I love watching sci-fi TV but don’t read space related books!

I like both sci-fi tv and books, although it is a very different way to experience the genre. I hope I’ll enjoy Star Gate! I didn’t know there was another spinoff, I only knew of Atlantis.
That’s awesome about the gift cards π And wow, you did have a great reading week! You did better than me this time lol. We’re not in sync anymore!

It was really fun to get two gift cards in one week :). Well I did finish two of those books last Sunday and the other two were novella’s, so it sounds more than it is ;).

I have never tried tofu is it good? I’ve heard various things about it, and have always been slightly wary. Enjoy your books and have a great week.
I like tofu, but it really depends on how you prepare it. Tofu itself is pretty bland, so you need a good sauce or spices to give it some taste. So far my favorite ways to eat it are baked in a curry or in a peanut sauce like this.

Congrats on winning those giftcards! That’s always a good thing!
It sure sounds like you’ve had a great reading week. I hope the next will be just as good!
Happy reading! π

You have been busy!
I have been trying to find stuff for next year so this month will be light on reviews since I will be saving them all for next year π My December is filled up anyway so it works out.
You did a lot of grabbing this week! Look at all those freebie! Need to stock up for COYER lol
Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox
Yes I have been busy. My December is pretty okay, although I will have a few light weeks due to my few bad reading weeks.
Lol that’s a good excuse to grab them, right? It was a good week for freebies.

Glad you had a great reading week! Looking forward to your advice next week π Hope you have a great day! ~Aleen

After some not so good reading weeks, it was nice to finish so many books in one week. I hope you find my advice post next week informative!
Yay! Glad you had a good productive week. Look forward to the recipe for your new rice and broccoli dish. Finishing up four books this week probably felt good. Woohoo on the GC wins. π
Have a good week, Lola!

I think I have it scheduled for halfway through February, so it will be a while before I can share it, but it was a good dish. Yes I was pleasantly surprised when I realized I had read so many books, even with two novella’s, it was a good week.
Looks like you had a good reading week and getting two Amazon gift cards is really the icing on the cake. Your picture I loved until you said tofu. I just can’t do it. Sorry. But you did make it look very appetizing! Hope you have a good productive week!

Yes it was a good reading week and getting two amazon gift cards was such a lovely surprise.
When I just became a vegetarian I disliked tofu, but in my opinion it really depends on how you prepare it. But hey you could just as easily swap the tofu with chicken for example.
Yay for the gift cards, and glad it was a good week. I’ve heard the various star Gate shows were pretty good, although I haven’t seen them. I did like the movie though for the most part. Cool concept.
Your broccoli rice dish looks good, I love a good peanut sauce although I usually try to find them in the spicy variety. Good stuff.
Greg recently posted…Sunday Post #171
We just watched the first two episodes of Star gate, it has a bit of a slow start, but the concept is pretty cool.
You could definitely spice this sauce up a bit, but I like mine a bit milder as I don’t like too spicy food. But I actually included a variation tip in the recipe to make it spicier. I really like peanut sauces, they are so good!
That recipe sounds really good. I love tofu so I’ll have to try that. I’ve been busy too so it’s hard to get caught up on visiting blogs. But we just do the best we can and we all understand how busy we all get. I hope you have a great week!

I also like tofu and in this dish it worked really well. And you’re right, we all do the best we can and understand when they are busy, although I still feel a bit bad about it :(.
Surprise gift cards and wins are exciting. The recipe looks good, although I have tried something similar with chicken. I one clicked a lot for sales and freebies last week. Looks like you did well!

Yes it was really neat to get two gift cards in one week. This recipe would work great with chicken instead of tofu as well, will have to make sure to add that as variation tip to my recipe post.
That’s awesome you got 2 Amazon gift cards. Those are always nice. π At least you have some posts scheduled for next year! I have none. I’m currently trying to schedule more for December just so I don’t feel too behind. haha

I was happy with the amazon gift cards! I only have a few posts scheduled, but I am normally much more ahead, so I feel a bit bad about not being as ahead now.
I’m behind everything so no worries on my end.
Have a great week ahead and that dish looks so yum!

I’m glad you got a lot done this past week even if you’re falling behind with comments and blog posts. I loved loved loved Stargate SG-1! Such a great show. I’m sure you’ll love it. Get past the first season and it’s really enjoyable. Also, I want that recipe for the peanut tofu. π
S. J. Pajonas recently posted…Sunday Update β December 4, 2016
I only have 3 blog posts scheduled for this week, so I hope that allows me to get caught up on comments again. But I can’t complain as I am way too happy to have had so many busy weeks in a row.
So far I am not really enjoying Stargate yet, but we only watched 2 episodes so far and I heard it gets better, so I’ll continue watching. My boyfriend really enjoys the series and it’s a re-watch for him. For some reason those worms in people their stomach’s really freak me out. So creepy.
The peanut tofu recipe will be posted halfway February I think ;). I know you love peanut butter as much as I do, so I think you’ll enjoy this dish.
The broccoli and tofu looks really good! Glad you’re having a good business week!
