The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week was a lot better than the previous one, less stress, but still busy enough. I’ve been working on marketing assistant work and some tours. A new cover reveal sign-up post went live on Lola’s Blog Tours!
And I tried to catch up on comments on the blog, as I had gotten behind last week. I pretty much stayed about a day behind with comments for the whole week, but I think I am finally caught up again, yay! I also made some time for reading, gaming and baking this week. Oh and I won an amazon gift card thanks to the New release Q1 recap giveaway Lexie from Unconventional Book Views did. So all in all it was a good week.
I made peach crumble this week, it was so good! I used my Apple Crumble recipe, but instead of apples added canned peaches. We had this can left from my boyfriend his Christmas package or something like that and I suddenly had this strange idea to give it a try for crumble as the apples we had didn’t look to good anymore, but I did want crumble. So peach crumble was born, yum! It was so good!
And there are so many good books being released lately, I wish I could read them all right now! I even made a list of books I have to read next (for both my Kobo and ipad!) and even then I know I can’t review them all close to release day sadly. And I never make a list of my next books, but I don’t mind at the moment as they are all books I want to read as soon as possible.
Random Picture(s) of the Week
Lately my boyfriend has been eating “Leverworst” more regularly, it’s a sausage which contains some liver as well so it’s called literally translated liver sausage, even though not even 30% of it is livers. Here in the Netherlands liver sausage is quite common, most stores sell multiple brands. And on birthdays you can usually see a plate with liver sausage, salami and cheese on the table or go around the room. Do they sell liver sausage where you live and do you like it?

Willow Truly doesn’t need a man. Never has, never will. At least, not in the long-term. She’s as keen for a roll in the sack as the next girl, but beyond that, a man’s usefulness runs out quick.A girl’s got to take care of herself, Will’s learned, because as soon as you start to rely on a man, he breaks your heart. She’s bound and determined to never let THAT happen again, so she’s sworn off love, marriage, and living happily ever after. As the writer of a snarky dating column in Du Jour magazine, she’s pretty much guaranteed no man will stick around for long…and she’s totally okay with that.
Unless, of course, we’re talking about Josh. Her all-around favorite guy and best friend outside of The Girls, Josh is the only man Will can’t date. Not if she wants to keep him in her life—and she does. More than anything.
However, to keep him, Will may have to go against everything she believes to be true and take a chance on love again. And on Josh. Because if she doesn’t…Will just may break her own heart.
I know what you mean about books. I have so many great sounding books in the house that I want to read them all NOW! Sometimes I can’t decide what to read next which really drives me bonkers!

I actually made a list of what to read first to help me decide, lol. Mostly in order of when I received them. It always seems all the good ones are released in the same month.
Great week!!! I’m off to check out your post about reading a series!!

I don’t think I’ve ever had liverwurst, and while I’ve never looked for it, I feel like it must be something we could get. I mean, I’ve at least heard of it before, so Americans must have been eating it at some point. I think it’s kind of old fashioned though. Liver and onions used to be kind of a popular family dinner, but I associate that with the 1950s and 19360s. I don’t think I would be opposed to eating it even though liver isn’t too popular a meat in America. In my neck of the woods (Michigan), coney dogs (a hot dog topped with a meat sauce, onions, and mustard) are very popular. In my hometown, the meat sauce is usually made with ground beef heart, which is not a typical cut of meat for American tasteuds. I had no idea that’s what it was when I had my first coney dog, but as it turns out, coney dogs are incredibly delicious, so I can keep an open mind.

Here it’s still pretty common and we have many different brands of liverwurst here. Before I became a vegetarian I quite liked it, although now just the smell is too much for me. Here liver isn’t really popular either, except for liverwurst then, but they do sell it here.
Sometimes it’s better not to know what you’re eating and try it first. I never heard of coney dogs before, so thanks for sharing that tidbit :). It’s so interesting to hear what people in other countries/ places eat.
Oh, man, Peach Crumble? Ok…I know what I’m making now!
Also, I’m just curious…why is there a wait time to post a comment?
Molly @ Molly’s Book Nook recently posted…Saying Thank You (again & forever) !
It was so good! I bought a new can of peaches so I can make it again soon! Did you end up making peach crumble?
The comment wait time is against spam, spam bots auto post immediately, so having them wait prevents some spam apparently. Not sure if it really works. I think I have it set reasonably low, but I can tweak it a bit and set it even lower if you’re having trouble with it.
not yet xD I have your apple crumble recipe saved though! I’ll try it soon & let you know <3
Also, for some reason, it tells me to refresh the page every now and then. It'll countdown then say "reload the page to leave a comment". Maybe it's just me, though xD I seem to have issues with commenting a lot lol
That would be great! I always love hearing from people who tried one of my recipes and how it turned out!
I think you should have half an hour or so to leave a comment and if you haven’t done so it says to refresh. I’ll look into the settings and see if I can set it a bit higher or maybe deactivate that part and see if it makes a difference in terms of spam.
So many good books, so little time! Well, it’s better than having nothing to read, right?
Your Peach Crumble sounds so good. And the recipe look so easy! (And here I was trying to cut back on sugar… without much success, unfortunately.)
Here in the US, that sausage is called liverwurst or sometimes braunschweiger. I love it — not for all the time but for an once or twice a year treat.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm’s Hoard recently posted…Sunday Post – 4/17/16
I totally agree! Sometimes I hear my sister say she is trying to read all her books on her e-reader first before she buys new ones and just the thought of that freaks me out.
Crumble is so simple to make! I always thought it was hard, until I tried it and it’s too easy. When I am craving something sweet and homemade in the evenings I can have a bowl of crumble within about 45 minutes and most of that is waiting while it’s in the oven.
Liverwurst, that sounds almost german. I just knew I was going to translate it wrong. I used to like it as a kid before I became a vegetarian.
Peach Crumble sounds so much more appealing to me than liver sausages! 😀 I’m not a fan of liver anything though so I am biased. It’s exciting to have so many books that you want to read as you have them all to look forward to. Hope you enjoy them all!
Trish @ Between My Lines recently posted…The Sunday Post : Get your Bookish News #recommitted
The peach crumble was really good, I’ve been craving peaches since I read a peach themed cozy mystery a few weeks ago, so I was glad to finally satisfy that craving.
I don’t think I ever ate liver before I became a vegetarian, but I used to like liverwurst. The thought of eating livers certainly doesn’t sound appealing.
It sure is exciting to have so many books I want to read.
Glad o hear that, even though the marketing assistance job is keeping you busy, this week less stressful. Though I rather if you didn’t stress about it, I think it is lovely that you worry about visiting us so much! you are the best Lola!
I won an amazon gift card too!
ohhh Apple Crumble! yummmmm
Not being able to read all the books I want is UGH.
WE have been eating a lot of italian as usual. Spinach manicottis, lasagna, pasta with meat sauce, etc. I don’t think I have been liver sausage ever in New England, US. But I do like sausages and liver so I think I would like it 🙂
Hope you get to go throw your list Lola
I always feel a bit bad when I am behind on commenting and I always enjoy visiting everyone’s blogs.
It’s great to win an amazon gift card and then all the options of what to buy with it! So difficult to decide.
Other people said it’s classed Liverwurst in english, so maybe you’ve heard of that name? I used to like it as a kid.
Italian food is good! I made pasta last week and also enjoy a good lasagna.
I wonder if Liver Sausage is the same as Liverwurst. I don’t like Liverwurst but my Dad and Sister love it. During parties we usually make an Antipasto. Which is a meat and cheese platter mostly Italian do that. (I think) My family always has it for special occasion and I love it. 🙂
Apple Crumble is so yummy, did you post the recipe for the? I might have to try a peach one.
I hope you have a great week, Lola! I will have the banners done this week 🙂 Happy Reading! ox

Yes I think it is, I probably just translated it wrong. Liverwurst sounds like the german word for “Leverworst”. That’s interesting you also do the meat and cheese platter thing, maybe it’s something European?
Yes I linked to my own recipe, I posted it last year or so I think. So when I make it again I like to link back to my own recipe again. It’s simple to make and so good! The peach version was a total win too! I’ve been craving peaches since a peach themed cozy mystery I read and then I saw we had that can and I wanted crumble, so it all worked out.
I am looking forward to see how the banners turn out :). You always do such an amazing job on them.
Here in the US they sell something similar to your liver sausage. Here it’s called liverwurst and another is braunschweiger. My husband likes both of those on crackers. He tells me that the braunscweiger has more spices in it than the plain liverwurst and he likes that better.
Mary Kirkland recently posted…Review: Amazon Baby Registry Welcome Box
I think it’s interesting those names sound so german. I wonder if we can get the braunscweiger here as well as it sounds like something my boyfriend would like, will have to check next time when grocery shopping.
I will pass on the sausages!!!
I am trying to catch up on comments too, I wish I had more time!
The H Y Hanna book looks good, I have the first book in the series but not got around to reading it yet.
Have a good week!

A little bit of extra time would be nice. I was caught up and now I am a bit behind again.
I really enjoyed the first two books! One of my fav cozies series so far, so I am looking forward to read the third one. I hope you’ll enjoy the first book.
I had no clue about liver sausage, although liver is supposed to be super good for you since it has a ton of nutrients. I just can’t stand the smell when you cook it hehe ButI would try liver sausage. Hope you have a fun reading week!!
The smell of liver is horrible indeed, but the liverwurst doesn’t smell as bad luckily. Apparently it is called liverwurst in America, that’s what the other commentators say :).
I’ve been having trouble keeping up with comments too, it’s annoying. Not the comments, but forgetting/ not having time to respond, although hopefully this week will be better. Congrats on the giftcard!
I have no idea what hot lightning is, but I like the name and now I’m curious!
Enchanted looks good, I might take a look at that one especially if some of the stories are on the darker side. I like when the fae have a bit of an edge lol.
Greg recently posted…Sunday Post #138
I agree I love getting comments, but I feel so bad when I don’t have enough time to respond and comment back. I am behind again now.
I literally translated the dish’ name from dutch, so that’s why it has such a weird name. It’s basically mashed potatoes with apple from the oven. The apples can be hot, so that’s where the name comes from I think.
I also like fae stories with a bit of an edge, but not sure what kind of fea stories they are, but I like the idea of these bundles. I think it’s on sale for only 0.99$ at the moment.
I just love that cover for Two Down Bun To Go. LOL Some days I’m all over comments and then sometimes I realize I’m a day behind. Usually because I’m visiting everybody else! Enjoy those new reads, Lola:)

The covers for that series are fun and it’s a great series so far. I hope I can stay caught up for a few weeks again, but I am already behind again today, so that doesn’t bode too well.
Yay for less stress and catching up on comments! Your mention of peaches though made me realize I haven’t had a peach in YEARS. I mean, they were never my favorite fruit, but the crumble sounds good.
Ok, I feel like I have definitely heard of leverworst. Never had it though.
That cover for Enchanted is so pretty! And it sounds like you’ve got lots of great reading ahead of you 🙂 Enjoy all your books!

I am pretty sure that after today I will be behind with comments a day again, but let’s hope I can catch up again tomorrow. Peaches were never my favourite fruit either, but they were really good in that crumble. Very different than apple crumble. I just bought a new can of peaches so I can make it again this week!
Apparently it’s called Liverwurst there say the other commentators. Which sounds very german to me. I used to like it as a kid.
I agree the cover for Enchanted is pretty! It’s exciting having so many (probably) good books ahead of me!
I’ve never eaten liverwurst. I’m not a fan of liver, so I don’t know if I could eat it as part of a sausage or not. I’m pretty sure you can find it here, but it isn’t very popular. Yay for the gift card win! I have a ton of books I want to read all right now. I even have a ton of backlist books that I’m really wanted to listen to right now. I need more time in the day for books. LOL

I’m glad you had a better and less stressful week. The peach crumble sounds awesome – that’s great it worked out with peaches since you didn’t have apples to use!!!
I feel like there are a ton of great books coming out soon. I need them all! I do have some newer releases on my Kindle that I really need to find time for too.

It always seems that all the exciting new releases all come in the same month. So many good ones being released lately!
There are so many great books coming out and I’ve been reserving copies from my library. This way I don’t have to spend so much money lol. The peach crumble sounds delicious. A coworker brought in an apple crumble and it was so good. I’ll have to try your recipe. I only had liverwurst once and I didn’t like it. I’m not a fan of liver. I hope you have a great week!

Great Week 🙂 A collection of Fairy stories sounds so great.
I like these genre themed bundles and am looking forward to reading it 🙂
We have different types of meats for crackers, not sure I have tried that. The Sunday Post has gotten so big I either have to sit and reply, visit, comment all day or break it into 2 four hours sessions. So I do half Sunday and half Monday..meaning I commenting on Monday’s posts on Tuesday and so forth. It works otherwise I would get all twitchy commented all day Sunday! Have a wonderful week!
Some of the other commentators say it’s called liverwurst there, seems I translated it wrongly.
The Sunday post sure has gotten big, I am still enjoying this meme, but I never manage to visit everyone. I can imagine it would take a lot of time for you to reply to all comments.
I’m glad your week this past week was much easier! Sounds like you have *just* enough going on.
I was never a fan of liverwurst even when I ate meat. Totally an acquired taste!

Omgg, I LOVE that cover for Enchanted! It’s so beautiful and whimsical. Eeeeep.
But omg I’ve never heard of liver sausage. 😂 I’m sure there probably is some in Australia, but it’s probably not mega common? I probably wouldn’t eat it (although I loooove sausage, but I’m not into liver).
