The 2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge hosted by A Reader Lives A Thousand Lives and Because Reading is Better Than Real Life.
Every month on the 30th I will be doing my recap of that month. You can check out my goal post here
September Recap
Accept no more than 1 book with a deadlines each month.I failed this one in february already.- Read at least 3 (cozy) mysteries. Two mystery books read so far and I got two cozy mysteries book from netgallet, so I think I am gogin to reach this goal as well, yay! Does Visions count as a mystery? In my opinion it does, so I listed it here. Below the books I read for this goal:
- Visions by Kelley Armstrong
- A Spark of Justice by J.D. Hawkins – review coming early october
- Read at least 3 historical romances. Made it! I even read 4 historical romance so far and one DNF. Links to the books I read for this challenge are below:
- The Mine by John Heldt. It’s actually a bit of a crossover book with time travel and historical romance elements, but I thought the historical romance elements where prominent enough to count it as historical romance.
- In for a Penny by Rose Lerner, which was a lot of fun.
- Palace Secrets by Ravyn Rayne, which was okay and didn’t have much focus on the historical aspect.
- A Ladyβs Guide to Skirting Scandal (The Lords of Worth #2.5) by Kelly Bowen, was fun and original and I’ll be reading more of this author her books.
- Immersed (Immersed #1) by Katie Hayoz, this was one was very enjoyable. Great historical setting!
- Read at least 20 review books this year. I read 58 review books so far this year, totally powned this goal! I keep adding books to the list as well though, so I am not really making a dent in my for review pile.
- Organize at least 30 tours with Lola’s Blog Tours. Yay reached this goal! 31 tours organized so far!
Woohoo!!! That’s such a great achievement Lola!!! Congratulations! You definitely owned your resolutions ;)) the blog tour banners are just so lovely!!!

Thanks! It’s great to have achieved all my goals, I am currently reading my third Mystery book and then I really managed to finish them all. I love seeing all those tour banners in a row like that, makes me realize how much I already organized this year.

You really did an amazing job! You should definitely be proud of that π
Ooh! I rarely read any novels in the mystery genre (unless you consider romantic suspense under the same category :p) but I really love watching thrillers and mysteries in movies. Haven’t gotten quite a hang of it when I was reading though, but that’s definitely an area I would venture into in my future bookish adventures! I wanted to start off with The girl with the dragon tattoo series. The movie was great!!

I don’t consider romantic suspense mystery books, unless they have a strong focus on a mystery. Romantic suspense is another genre I want to read more books of. I am still relatively new to that genre as well.
My experience with mysteries in books is that I enjoy them, although I haven’t quite found my way in the genre yet. My favourite mysteries are those by Kelley Armstrong, she often adds mystery to her paranromal series and I love how she writes mysteries. The twe cozy mysteries I read were fun, but not awesome.
It’s fantastic that you’ve reached your Tours goal and you still have a quarter of the year left. It’s a sign of just how much your business of growing and I’m delighted for you. Hard work pays off π

I might be most happy about reaching that goal ;). I organizing 22 tours in total last year, so being on the 30 already is a great increase comapred to last year. It’s good to see my business growing like that.
I’m doing so-so on my goals. I’ve done better toward them, but haven’t quite reached a few. I’m taking less tours and reviews so I can finish up my older ones. I wanted to DNF books I didn’t like and I’ve done that a few times though probably not as often as I should. I wanted to stay off social media for at least one day a week and I’ve done it some times. I wanted to read more from my TBR pile and I’ve done that, but I also added several. Haha!
You are doing so great even if you’ve slipped a few times. The tours are amazing since that’s part of your livelihood. Still more time to keep adding more over the top on the goal. π

DNF’ing books I don’t like is still hard for me, but I think I did well this year. I DNF’d a few books, but also pushed through a few hoping they would get better.
I am really happy with how well I did with my tours, it’s great to see I organized more tours this year than the last one. I am hoping that upwards trend continues.
Woohoo! You’re making amazing progress with your resolutions, Lola. That’s wonderful! I did giggle over you having read so many review books but that you continue to add to the pile so you’re not really making a dent…*grins* It totally counts that you’ve read them. The ones added don’t count against you. π Keep up the good work!

I agree it counts that I read them, but the reason behind the goal was to put a dent in the pile, ah well not having it icnrease too much also is a good goal. It’s nice to see I read so many review books, part of that is probably as I started reading boosk during breakfast on my kindle app and most of those are netgalley review books.
Holy smokes! You achieved a lot in September! Congrats! I’m looking forward to your reviews of the cozy mysteries. π

Thanks! I finished reading two cozy mysteries so far, the first one I’ll review on tuesday. I haven’t really found my way in the genre yet though as both were 3 stars reads.
