The Challenge
The 2017 New Release Challenge is hosted by Lexxie at Unconventional Book Views and Stormi at Books, Movies, Reviews Oh My.
I am going to take it slow with reading challenges in 2017 and have decided that this one and Coyer will most likely be the only ones I am joining. Last year about half of the book I read were new releases and I enjoy participating in this challenge so I am joining again this year!
You can read the full rules for this challenge on Lexxie or Stormi their blog. It’s a yearlong challenge and books have to be at least 100 pages to count.
Goal
I am setting my goal at 31-60 books per year – New Release Pro. I read about 65 new releases so far this year, so I am confident I can read about the same amount next year. So I think reading 50-60 new releases next year should be doable, if I can read more that would be great, but I am setting my goal on a doable level.
I joined this one for the first time so I’ll be challenging right there with you for the Pro level. We can cheer each other on.
I sent my post with the list of my challenges over to Shari just today so you can see what I signed up for then. I was not frugal and went for a bunch of them. Haha!

Yay I am glad to hear we will be challenge buddies for this one. And what a fun coincidence we’re going for the same goal level too. I hope we’ll both reach our goal!
Good for you! I’m sure you’ll achieve this one.

I am pretty sure I will, if I read as many new releases next year as this one.
Oh, that’s a great challenge!
I am doing a Historical Romance Challenge, Flights of Fantasy, and a Contemporary Romance Challenge. 🙂
Those sounds like fun ones!
Good luck with this challenge! I feel like I end up reading a lot of new releases, with review books. I really want to focus on books that I already own next year so I might just do the Goodreads challenge.

Same here, I get a lot of new releases though netgalley, review copies and ARC teams. I tried to focus on reading older books, but it seems easier to keep up to date with the new books and I enjoy reading them. So i decided to just embrace that and go for this challenge.

I think I’ll pass on this one this year but I think you’ll do great with this challenge Lola. Good luck!

Thanks! I think so too, but it’s fun joining and see how many new releases I actually get read :).
I signed up for this challenge and am doing the New Release Newbie. This will be my first time participating in this challenge. It should be fun and I picked up a bunch of new releases last year, so I’m good.
I’m also sign up for 2017 Library Love Challenge, 2017 New To Me Challenge, 2017 Pick Your Genre, & 2017 Blogger Shame Challenge. I love that all of these will crossovers in one way or another.

Glad to hear you’re participating in this one as well! Ad I hope you reach your goal. I joined the pick your genre and blogger shame challenges this year. They were fun, although I did better with the genre challenge.
I’ve never don the blogger shame, but informally I picked up some NetGalley books and have yet to read them and they are all over 4months =/ (hangs head). Hope to nock them off at the beginning of the year and hopeful I’ll not get behind on review books. I picked up a bunch of new releases, so I excited to do the 2017 New Release Challenge.

I still have some review books I got months if not years ago, but I seem to have a hard time getting to them. I just try and get to them whenever I feel like and focus on reading what I want (often the new releases) first.
This is a great challenge, and one I need to commit to because my reading this year totally sucked! But like a New Year’s resolution, I know I will hopelessly fail. (lol) But it’s great to know that I can find out about a ton of new authors and titles by hanging out with you, Lexxi and Stormi. Hugs…RO

Lexxie does even better than me with this challenge, she really reads a lot of new releases each year. I find that it’s easier for me to focus on new books I get and new releases, so that’s what i am hoping to keep up next year too.
I find myself unable to set reading challenges so this year I’m going to do an audiobook challenge! I’m sure you’ll hit your goals. 🙂
