sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?
This was an okay week, pretty busy again, but in a good way. I again had quite some work for Lola’s Blog Tours. There are 3 new tours open for sign-up this week and I even made the sign-up post draft for a tour that won’t go live till september. If you want to know which tours are currently open for sign-up click here.

Beside that we went to the vet with our rat Skittles, she is acting a bit weird. She is very quiet and shaking her head sometimes, scratching her head often and she seemed a bit weak, she had trouble climbing for example. So we went to the vet with her and they think she has an ear infection in the inside of her ear, so we got some antibiotics and it should be better in two weeks. I really hope it helps :(. I feel so sad for her, she seems so down. We’ve been giving her some extra food she likes and take her out of the cage more often. It’s so sad to see her having trouble navigating the cage, I really hopes she improves soon.

And my boyfriend and I started watching Star Trek: Voyager. We’ve seen 19 episodes so far and I am really enjoying it. My boyfriend thought the Voyager series was the best to start with and we plan on watching the other seasons eventually as well. I am a big fan of Mr Tuvok, the Doctor and Captain Janeway, but most of the characters are really likeable and it’s fun to see them change, grow and learn.

Sorry for the blog being so quiet, I am a bit figuring out in which direction I want to be headed with the blog. I have gotten a bit more picky with tours and blitzes, I don’t just participate in them because I want to fil up an empty spot. But I don’t know what to post now. I have decided to keep reviewing Fate Core roleplay books i read here on the blog, because I enjoy reviewing them and so why not share those reviews here? I am also planning on doing more discussion posts or maybe participate in some meme’s to have somethign to post, but I am not sure yet.

Also I don’t usually share links to other blog posts during my Sunday Post, but I thought it was worth sharing this post by Anna from Herding Cats and Burning Soup where she talks about how authors approach bloggers and it even includes some advice for authors. I think she’s saying a lot things that many bloggers are thinking.

Random Picture of the Week:

Here’s a picture of Skittles, this is right after their cage got cleaned and she was doing a bit of exploring. She had some difficulties getting to the higher parts of the cage, but she did seemed to enjoy this spot.

Games I played this week:
I didn’t play any games this week, except for my usual games on my ipad. Every morning I play some Hay Day and wordfeud.

This week I posted about:
Blog Tour: Little Death by Roe Valentine
Review: Venture City

    • Yeah I am sure I’ll find out what I want eventually and I hope it will be worth it! I already made on descision this weke ot keep reviewing Fate Core roleplay books and maybe expand my reach a bit with game reviews or other reviews, but I am not sure yet.

    • I never really though about what I wanted and the mission for my blog except write book reviews, so that might be a good diea :). Thanks for the advice!

  1. Poor Skittles I hope she feel better!
Having a little change in direction in your blog is always a good thing. It lets you feel around what works best for you. I did that a while ago and have been thinking about it again. I love blogging but I want it to be more informative and not so much promoting (even though I love promoting) So I have been thinking of some new stuff. I do love your blog the way it is but it’s always nice to have a change πŸ™‚

Love the picture, I am not a rat person but she is a cutie πŸ™‚

    Have a great week Lola!!

    • So far we haven’t seen much improvement in Skittles, but her medicine was for two weeks, so we’re only halfway through.

I love promoting, but I want enough other posts as well and not mainly promotional posts. I especially like the blog tour posts with tens lists or review. I usually find interview too much effort when I haven’t read the book yet, so I don’t do those often.
And thanks for the compliment on my blog :), I am glad to hear you think so! I hope I come up with soem goood ideas for change, because so far I am drawing a blank.

Have a great week Michelle πŸ™‚

  2. I hope Skittles feels better soon, that’s hard when a pet is having trouble. Good luck with your blog plans, whatever they turn out to be- I personally like roleplay game reviews, and think that would be fun if you did those. It’s always fun to see what other people are playing…

    • Yeah it’s been hard with Skittles being sick, I hope she shows some improvement soon. She does have some good moments, but overal she seems so tired and weak.
I am glad to hear you enjoy roleplay game reviews, have you read my review of Venture City? I haven’t played the setting yet, but it was fun to read the book. Have you played any roleplay games yourself? And if yes which ones?

    • I worry so much about her :(, I hope she’ll recover. It’s so sad to see her struggling walking around the cage and she has trouble holding her food and it almost breaks my heart to see her like that. We gave her some cooked rice yesterday and she perked up a bit after that.

And I hope your post get’s lots of visits and maybe have some influence on authors :). I can’t wait to read your next blogger to author post!

    • She’s still not doing well unfortunately :(. She has some good moments, but overal we haven’t seen a lot of improvement yet. And it’s so sad to see her struggling around the cage.

  3. She’s named Skittles? Haaaa! So adorbs πŸ™‚ Yay that you got Silver Shadows, Lola! I need to get caught up with that. Planning on binging everything from TIS once the final book is out πŸ™‚

    • Yes our white rat is named Skittles and the other three are named Smarties, Snickers and Pita. They are really cute, I hope Skittles will be doing better soon.
And I can’t wait to read Silver Shadows! It’s a good series to binge as usually after finishing a book I want to start the next one.

    • I am really worried about Skittles as she doesn’t seem to get better :(.
I really enjoy Star Trek Voyager so far, I like the story and the characters are likeable and you really get to know them well. My boyfriend thought Voyager was the best series to start with for me.

    • Skittles seems even worse today :(, we’re not sure if she’s gonna make it.

And I agree Anna really touched on some good points in her post!

  4. I love your rat… my friend has a beautiful rat so fun to be around. I hope Skittles feels better. As for your blog and what direction to go… I always tell bloggers to do what makes you happy. If you don’t blogging won’t be fun and you will eventually quit. Good luck!

    • Skittles is a beautifull rat, she was my first choice as I lvoed her colouring. I hope she improves soon!

And doing whatmakes you happy is a good advice when it comes to blogging, the only problem is that I am not sure yet how to exactly answer that question. Or what I can add to my blog to make me more happy about it.

    • We’ll be watchign the other Star Trek series after this one, so after that I’ll know which one is my faourite. So far I am really enjoying Voyagar. you really get to know the characters and it’s fun to see them all interact and the story is interestign as well.

  5. Sorry to hear about Skittles, hopefully the antibiotics help and she’ll be feeling better soon.

I think a new direction can be such a good thing when we’re feeling lost or uncertain. It’s your blog, do what you want with it. We’ll still come πŸ˜‰

I remember when Voyager came out and I think it was my favorite, though I’m not sure I managed to finish it. I remember really liking the Dr. and 7 of 9. I liked 7 of 9 A LOT! Maybe I need to rewatch πŸ™‚

Hope you have a great week!

Is 7 of 9 a character? Don’t think I’ve encountered that character yet.
