sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a stressful week and I haven’t been feeling good psychically or mentally. After realizing last week I had to pay more taxes I wanted to make sure I had done everything correctly, so this week I spend some time looking into that and calling to make sure it was all correct. Phone calls are always stressful for me and these ones even more so as they were so important. I had some bad luck with my phone battery dying while I was waiting for someone to get back at me and then later having to wait almost an hour to get to speak to someone. Finally I got my answers and after some more looking things op on the internet as well I concluded I did everything correct and I should make sure to expect this amount of taxes going forward. Not the answer I was hoping for, but it’s good to have the answer. I’ll have to save for this going forward which means almost no money left over for fun things like buying books.

Besides that my boyfriend and I have been looking into buying new mosquito netting for our windows, as they got replaced late last year we now have no mosquito netting anymore as they removed that and didn’t replace it. Unfortunately our new windows are shaped so weirdly we weren’t sure which ones we need to have so we had to email the company to see if they could help us out. Such a hassle. It really feels like one of those weeks with lots of little things not going smoothly. Hopefully we can figure that out next week.

I was quite tired after all of that and then my migraine hit so I tried to take it easy the rest of the week. I also switched to lower dose of one of my painkillers for my migraine and I think that’s working out well. I feel better and not as out of it with the lower dose, but it still works almost as good to the pain. The painkillers worked well and I didn’t have much pain, but a lot of brain fog and trouble focusing and concentrating.

Besides that I did a bit of de-dusting around the house. The bathroom sink is again not draining properly and I tried to fix it that multiple times without much luck. I still have something I want to try, but that’s for next week. I did get a bit of work done for one of my authors, I am done with prooflistening the book I was working on and did a bit of other work as well.

What did I read this week?

This week I blogged about:

Ah, so sorry to hear about this.. everything is getting so bloody expensive and life has become very, very stressful. I also hate dealing with phone calls it gives me anxiety… Fingers crossed, you will be able to sort those mosquito nets, and you will get some peace of mind and relax.
If you enjoy ebooks and have a Kindle, use the daily deals! At the moment, Water Moon is at 0.99 GBP, that’s about $1.28. I managed to save so much on books thanks to this!
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely week starting today and that the negative stuff is already behind you. Take it easy and take care of yourself

    • I agree things really are getting expensive and stressful. I hope we can sort the mosquito netting soon as we didn’t get around to it this week.

I definitely like discounted books and am subscribed to some emails with discounted books, I don’t have kindle though.

Yeah, I started having extra taken out of every paycheck to try to avoid having to pay so much all at once every year. Hoping to get my taxes done this week and see if it made any difference. Glad the lower dose seemed to help with your migraines, those have to be so frustrating to deal with. Ugh, I hope you don’t have to deal with those mosquitos again this year! My bathroom sink has been having issues draining, so I need to buy the drain cleaner liquid and probably try to clean it out again. I hope you have a better week!

    • I think I have everything planned correctly now so I can save enough for next year as this year was a mess with the taxes. I am glad I tried to lower dose and that made me feel better, they are frustrating to deal with every month. And I definitely hope we don’t have to deal with the mosquitos again this year. At least i finally resolved the bathroom sink issue by taking it all apart this week.

  3. I’m sorry it was a rough week. My daughter has been doing well with Qulipta as a migraine preventative and only has 1-2 migraine days a month instead of 25-31. Big difference. She also has a abortive Rizatriptan which stops the pain if one starts. It’s much better than last year. I hope you get the mosquito netting sorted before they start again.

    • That’s nice your daughter is doing so well on her migraine preventative with only a few migraines days, that’s a huge difference. I definitely hope we can get the mosquito netting sorted before they become more active.

  4. What a week! I’m especially sorry to hear about the migraine, I have them, too, and they are zero fun. I hope everything gets sorted nicely and this week rolls out smoother than last 🙂 Take good care of yourself!

  5. Ugh.. just the thought of all those calls makes my head hurt, I have to make one today as well.. to the social security office on behalf of my dad.. not looking forward to it.
