The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
I am still struggling with feeling burned out and trying to take care of my mental health. The first half of this week was feeling tired due to lack of sleep and trying to catch up on some sleep, then I got my usual period migraine later in the week. The medicines worked pretty well, still some pain and brain fog though. I am glad I finally figured out a good schedule and combination of medicines for my migraines as that really helps.
I really focused on my mental health this week and it’s been tiring, but I feel like I am making some good chances. I’ve been focusing on figuring out what brings me energy and what drains it. Once of the changes I already made was use less social media, I’ve reduced that even more. And now I also added less checking of my email, I also unsubscribed to a lot of newsletters that just clutter up my inbox, but that I wasn’t actually interested in and deleting them every time they came in still took time and effort. I realized how much FOMO I had around emails and I subscribed to so many of them. I hope this unsubscribing means less emails going forward and makes it easier and quicker to check my emails.
Besides that I’ve been focusing on doing more of what makes me happy and gives me energy. I’ve also started watching some more videos about burnout and being neurodivergent as well as reading a book about toxic productivity. I baked a yummy banana cream cheese pie which I had made before and it turned out really good. Before I got my migraine I managed to do a work task for one of the author I do assistant work for that I hadn’t gotten to for a while and it felt so good to finally got that done.
As an update on our mosquito situation, this week was a lot better. We still found some this week, but less than previous weeks, so hopefully that trend continues. I started this week with some really bad mosquito bites, I am allergic to them and I had one on my hand that was swelling really badly so I decided to try something I had heard about, anti-histamine pills. And it worked so well, after 2 days of taking one pill per day most of my mosquito bites had lessened a lot and were just minor welts, which usually would take at least twice as long if not longer. They also itched a lot less and hurt less, which was great. So if your allergic to mosquito bites I can definitely recommend trying anti-histamine pills. I am keeping some on hand in case I get bit again.

I’ve got a bunch of your reviews to get to soon! Glad you’re figuring some things out, but yeah, I’m guessing it will be a constant thing you have to think about as things never seem to go the same way! I had wanted to up my anti-depressant because of my horrible school year and then finding out my stepfather had only two months. But now I’m feeling okay not upping it and trying to stay at the lower level. As hard as losing him was, it’s like now I don’t have to worry about him being in pain or watching him suffer, and I think that is helpful. I hope you have a better week!

I agree it’s probably going to be a constant thing to be aware of, but so far some of the changes I am making are helpful.
That’s good to hear you didn’t have to up your anti-depressant, but I feel bad you had such a tough school year and then losing your stepfather.
Hopefully the mosquito situation gets even better. They have moved in here too and I’ve been getting bitten at night when I take the dog for a walk.

The situation seems to have improved even more this week, so fingers crossed it continues that way. Sorry to hear you’re getting bit when walking the dog.
Figuring out what is making you less productive and happy is definitely a must for you – well done with sticking with it. It’s not easy, but can be so rewarding. I think it’s something that everyone should pay attention to anyway:)). I hope you’re having a better week, Lola.
I definitely think it’s very rewarding figuring this out, but it’s definitely tough to figure it all out. Hopefully it all gets easier going forward.
