sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty okay week for me. I felt a bit more tired than usual and did my best to get some extra sleep. Work was nice and steady this week, which I appreciated. There were a few things that didn’t go as smoothly at the end of the week, which was a shame.

Work wise it was a good week. I put a new sign up post live for a YA scifi/ fantasy book. I got a new tour request in this week that I am working on next. I sent out two media kits for tours starting next week and I did the usual assistant work.

What did I read this week?

Witchy ReservationsFatal FlossA Quiet Life in the Country

I DNF’d Witchy Reservations as I didn’t like the characters and the way the story was set up.
Fatal Floss was another great read in this series with a slightly different set up for the mystery. The mystery felt a bit slow at first, but I liked when it all came together at the end.
A Quiet Life in the Country was a lovely historical cozy mystery. This was my first try at a historical cozy mystery and I really enjoyed it. The narrator did an awesome job with this one.

This week I blogged about:

Review: The Demon’s Eye by Greta Van Der Rol
Review: A Girl Named Blue by Cecilia Randell

    • Welcome to the Sunday Post! I don’t read a lot of historical fiction and this was my first historical cozy mystery, I’ll definitely be reading more of them. It was a fun read.

  1. A quiet life in the country seems like my kind of read and I’m glad to hear you’ve enjoyed it too!

Glad to hear work is going smoothly and I am not even going to take a look at the new tour. Way to tempting and I have sooo many tours and reviews coming up and I’m still working too!!!

Have a good week Lola and take care!

    • I really A Quiet Life in the Country, I hope to pick up book 2 soon :).

It’s hard not to overdo it with requesting books for review at times. Good luck getting through your current tour and review books!

  2. Too bad about the up and down week. I had a cold for a few days, but feel better now. Nice, that you got a good amount of work lined up and had mostly good reading this week. I enjoy the Lady Hardcastle series on audio, too.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I am glad to hear you’re feeling better. It was your review for the Lady Hardcastle series that helped me decide to pick it up :). I really enjoyed it, I hope to start book 2 soon.

    • I finished it this week and really enjoyed it! I can’t wait for the next one. I requested it in Edelweiss, but I rarely get approved there for books.

  3. Even with the ups and downs it doesn’t sound like a bad week.
My brother had back surgery last week so I’ve been on the phone when he can’t sleep. Then when I thought I would get some sleep Falcor got sick and had to go out every 2 hours all night long. He’s better now though.

    • I hope your brother’s recovery is going well, that sounds like a tough surgery. Sorry to hear Falcor got sick, but I am glad he’s doing better now.
