sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a very mixed week, some good moments and a productive work week, but it also had lots of small things popping up. I dislike when those little things pop up, they don’t take much time to do deal with, but does costs some attention and as they’re important you can’t just shove them away till later.

The biggest issue this week was our internet again having trouble, after restarting the modem it stopped working altogether. So we had to figure out before I could start work. It seems we had to replace another part, so we bought it, it arrived the next day and now it’s fixed again, yay! In the meantime we had a temporary solution that worked. So at least it was an easy fix, but it was a pain to figure out why it wasn’t working. I feel like so many of our old products are suddenly needing replacing lately and the timing is always inconvenient.

Early this week I managed to hurt my back again, I didn’t even do anything strange, but it suddenly started hurting badly. I had this happen last year to, so I knew what to do. I’ve been careful with my back and did these back exercises that seem to help and by now it’s doing a lot better luckily. It’s still difficult to deal with as I have to stay conscious of it and move slowly as to not hurt it again.

Work wise it was a solid week. I got two new sign up posts live this week. One for a review opportunity and a non-fiction blog tour. I also got some assistant work done, sadly not as much as I had hoped due to all the other things going on.

I also found some time to bake some cookies, I baked these cookies with chocolate chips and pecans, they’re so good! Unfortunately I also made a recipe this week that didn’t turn out as well. I also had a video chat with my sister this week, which was a lot of fun, I enjoyed catching up with her. And it seems I found my way out of my reading slump as my reading has been smoother this week, which is such a relief as the past weeks were a struggle reading wise.

What did I read this week?

  1. it is very stressful when weeks don’t turn out how you planned. I feel you when it comes to all the crazy you had to deal with this week. I am glad you were able to fix your internet.

Your back and my knees we are like two little old ladies and we need to sit on a porch and just enjoy a day reading 🙂 lol

Have a great week, lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • I am so happy the internet was an easy fix, it was stressful enough trying to figure out what was wrong.

I definitely feel like an old lady when my back is hurting I even have the old lady waggle pat down. A day to sit in a porch reading sounds fabulous!

  2. It seems to be modem week with repairs. My husband spent a few hours last night over at his mom’s place trying to get her replacement modem working. He has tried several fixes and believes that she needs to contact the company and have them send out yet another replacement. The frustrating part is that the instructions and troubleshoots are on-line and he can’t get online unless he came home (his phone’s internet was acting up, too, of course) LOL so I know the frustration you write of. 🙂
Bummer about your back giving you trouble again. I’m glad you were able to video chat with your sister and it looks like you got some work done and got a nice batch of chocolate chip pecan cookies.

Hopefully this week will be a better one for you, Lola.

    • That was the exact problem we had a few weeks ago, we had to order a replacement modem as our modem stopped working. Now it was another part that was also old that stopped working. That’s the frustrating part indeed, trying to solve internet issues when you don’t have internet. Sorry to hear you had to deal with that as well.

I hope my back is doing better soon. I am glad I got some work done and baked some cookies at least and the video chat with my sister was fun.

  3. Yowza. I hate computer problems. So much. I can truly relate to your back problems as this is week 7 for me. I don’t even know what I did to hurt it and it’s never been like this. I am finally to the point of more good days than bad ones, but I have to be careful. I love pecans in cookies or anything. I made pumpkin muffins yesterday. I hope to make your pizza dough sometime and see how it is with gluten-free flour. I wish you a trouble-free, pain-free week!

    • Computer and internet troubles are so frustrating. I am just glad this was a retroactively easy fix.

Wow 7 weeks already that sound difficult to deal with. Mine only hurt for 1,5 week and that felt like a long time already. I hope your back is doing better soon.

Pumpkin muffins sound great! I hope the pizza dough turns out well if you give it a try with the gluten-free flour. Let me know how it goes!

  4. Urg! You’ve had more than your fair share of internet woes! Glad you were able to sort it out, though… I hope the coming week is a good one, Lola:)).

    • I am sorry to hear about your knee and hip pain, that sounds tough. I am happy my back is doing better by now and that the internet problems are fixed.

  5. Yes some weeks are like that- a mixed bag! Sorry to hear about your back. 🙁 I hope you are feeling better.

That pizza dough recipe looks delicious!

I hope you are well this week Lola.

    • Luckily my back is doing a lot better already, in a few more days I hope it’s fully back to normal.

I really like the pizza dough recipe 🙂

  6. RO

Always good when you can connect with family, so that was good. I’m so sorry that you’ve been experiencing back pain. That has to be rough when your job entails sitting at a computer for long periods of time. Glad the special exercises help out some. Yay to cookies! There’s noting more stressful than trying to deal with a nonworking computer. Slows everything down and then having to spend the time and money to get it fixed. Always a nightmare, but glad things are working properly now. Happy New Year, and please stay safe! Hugs, RO

    • It was nice to chat with my sister. The sitting actually felt nice for my back, but I noticed that as soon as I stand up it was all stiff, so I tried to move it regularly and luckily it’s doing better now. I am glad the internet troubles were a relatively easy fix once we knew what was causing, but it sure was a pain to deal with.
