sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

I hope you all had a nice Christmas if you celebrated. For me this was a nice and relaxing week and I still got some work done as well. I took a few days off this week around Christmas. I made plenty of time to relax by reading, gaming and I continued on my jigsaw puzzle that I hadn’t worked on for a while. We visited my boyfriend’s parents for Christmas, unpacked presents and had a nice dinner.

I also got a bit of blogging done this week. And I did a bit of work on some days, which also was nice after all the time off. There was some assistant work I did a few hours of and some Lola’s Blog Tours work, three media kits for tours starting on 6 January went out and I picked the winners of my Christmas giveaway. It was nice to have such a leisurely week.

I also got some baking and cooking done. I made another Babka (sweet bread) with chocolate filling and it turned out great. Picture below. And for my boyfriend I made some glazed ham. Recipes for both will be on my blog next year. I already wrote and scheduled those.

What did I read this week?

Love, Lies and Hocus Pocus: IdentityA Royal Guide to Monster SlayingWrite, Publish, Promote with Ellie and Amy

Love, Lies and Hocus Pocus: Identity was another great read in this series, although the pacing felt a bit slow at times. The ending was action packed and filled with reveals and interesting developments. I DNF’d Magic Destiny as it wasn’t grabbing me. Write, Publish, Promote with Ellie and Amy was a short read with some tips for authors, some good information, but for me personally not much new information and I thought it could’ve profited from some organization as now it mostly was a randomly organized list of tips. I also finished another story in Pets in Space 4, which was a fun one.

Food Corner

For this week’s food corner instead of sharing a recipe I wanted to ask you to share a recipe with me. A recipe you enjoy making or a recipe you think I might enjoy. Bonus if you have a link to share so I can check it out.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Stitches and Witches by Nancy Warren
Review: The Mousse Wonderful Time of Year by H.Y. Hanna
Review: Street Smart by Teyla Branton

Druid Vices and a Vodka

I got Druid Vices and a Vodka for review. I plan to start reading this one tpday, it’s the next book in a series I like so I hope this one is another great read.

Tell me about a recipe you like to make or would recommend to me?

  1. Glad you had a lovely, restful Christmas with visits to your boyfriend’s family, some fun activities, and good foods. I had a good Christmas going to my husband’s family for dinner and a hilarious White Elephant gift exchange.

Nice bit of reading done. Glad most of them were good even if you had to set one aside. I was able to get to some I wanted to read earlier this year which was great. I’m hoping to get through a few older series this year and stay on top of the new releases I snagged for review.

Have a Happy New Year, Lola!

    • Sounds like you had a good Christmas as well. I had to look up the term White Elephant gift exchange as I hadn’t heard of that before, sounds like fun.

It was too bad about the DNF, but luckily the others were good.

  2. I am glad that you had some days off Lola! And I see that you are reading Annette marie’s book! That’s my recent discovery thanks to Raven and Jen 😉

    • I really enjoy this series by Annette Marie. I haven’t read any of her earlier books, but this series and the spin-off are awesome. Glad to hear you recently discovered her books :). Which of her books did you read so far?

    • I am glad to hear you had a nice relaxing Christmas and I hope this week was relaxing too.

It’s such a great feeling to have some blog posts already written and scheduled to go. I hope you got a bunch of those reviews written!

  3. We have a delicious honey and pineapple glazed ham every year for Christmas lunch (and for the rest of the week).
I’ve always meant to make a Babka, but we had chocolate pudding for Christmas this year. Later today I’ll be making a Vanilla Slice for my son for his birthday, he doesn’t like cake!

Wishing you a great reading week and a Happy New Year

    • That sounds like an interesting flavor combination for a glaze.

Oh chocolate pudding sounds good too. Babka is a pain to make, but it’s so good! I hope your vanilla slice turns out well!

    • I really enjoy that series, Druid Vices and a Vodka was awesome. I hope you can listen to the rest of the series. I plan to maybe re-read them in audio later.

  4. I’m glad you had a good Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year, too! I don’t have any recipes to recommend that I could link to or anything. I feel like a lot of what I make are standards in this house, to the point that I made them up or have them memorized. I want to make more things in 2020, though! Hopefully we can both find some new recipes to try this year!

    • Thanks! I had a good new year too. I have a bunch of my recipes memorized as well, although I still have them written down somewhere usually. I hope you get around to trying some new things in 2020, I am looking forward to hear what you’ll try out. I plan to find some new recipes again to try out in 2020 to 🙂
