sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a tiring week. Again some days where I had a bit too little sleep and it just sort of piles up. It also was a busy week both with work and things going on. And just those small tiring things that need attention and that drain your energy that piled up. It was a good week for work, I got my usual amount of assistant hours work done and put a new sign-up post live on Lola’s Blog Tours.

I had lunch with my mom this week which was fun. The weather was nice, the food was good and we had a fun time chatting.

We got some rain here later in the week, which is nice for the plants as we hadn’t had rain in a while and the temperatures went down a bit again, but it was so humid that it wasn’t quite comfortable.

I am working to try and remove some small mildew spots around the house. I already successfully removed some spots that somehow got on a window and am still working on some spots in the bathroom that are more difficult to get rid of, but I am seeing some improvement so that’s good. I dislike using bleach, so I am mostly working with vinegar and baking soda for now.

I also continued on a jigsaw puzzle I started a while ago and started a new audiobook that’s pretty good so far.

What did I read this week?

Cat Got Your DiamondsWipe OutWhite water

Cat Got Your Diamonds was a decent audiobook, I liked the narrator, but the story didn’t fully pull me in. Wipe Out was a great fourth book in this series and I had fun reading it. I also finished White Water was an awesome way to wrap up the whole series with an epilogue and I enjoyed getting all 8 perspectives in one book.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Don’t Cheat Me by Jackie May
Review: Pirate Festival by Carysa Locke

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: The Lion Mistress Book 3 by R.A. Steffan
– Lola’s Kitchen: Tomato pasta Sauce with minced meat, mushrooms and olives Recipe

White Water I got for review and already finished. Hidden Gem I won in a giveaway from the author. I was so happy to win a copy as I’ve been really curious about this one. Spellcaster Academy I got for review from the author. I liked the blurb for this one and just started reading it. Dine With Me I got for review through Netgalley. I’ve been curious about that author for a while now and this one sounds very good.

    • That’s too bad your dad didn’t like the puzzle you sent him. I usually only do jigsaw puzzles of 1000 pieces. I have this cardboard thing for on the floor that fits that size and it’s my preferred size for puzzles.

    • It gets pretty humid here too. That sprayer you have attached to your garden hose sounds handy.

I don’t really like the really difficult puzzles and usually stick with 1000 pieces ones. That round white one you mentioned sounds really difficult!

  1. Yes – it’s been very humid and rather hot here, too, Lola. I am interested to see you are reading Star Seers – I’m really enjoying this series. I understand your dislike of bleach – I’ve heard that hydrogen peroxide with baking soda is an effective option, too.

I hope this week is easier for you and happy reading.

    • I am sorry to hear it’s been hot and humid there too. I just finished Starseers this week and quite enjoyed it, it’s a great series so far. I am now reading the prequel and already have book 4 so I can read that soon.

I’ll have to look up hydrogen peroxide, I read that somewhere online too.

    • I dislike humidity in the summer as it makes it feel even warmer and sweatier. The mildew sure is stubborn, but I dislike the smell of bleach so much that I am persevering with vinegar for now. My next option is to try tea tree oil if the vinegar doesn’t work, the internet says that should work too.
