sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a bit of a meh week. I had a headache that lasted almost two full days, which diminished my productivity and ability to have fun on those days. I was happy when the headache finally went away. I did got most of my work done, but felt like I was just a few steps behind on my work the whole week. I did some hours assistant work, there was a bookstagram blitz I organized that ran this week, I sent out the media kits for a tour that starts next week and put live a new sign-up post for a blog tour.

I made some good progress with my puzzle and got some reading done as well. Still a bit behind on replying to comments on my blog. I also have a bunch of reviews I still need to schedule on my blog, even one for next week, but at least I managed to keep up with writing the actual reviews.

What did I read this week?

Shifter Mate MagicEvolved

Shifter Mate Magic was really good, one of the best shifter stories I read in a long while The romance was great and I liked the characters. I also liked how they both were capable and smart and the romance moved to the side when they were in danger. Evolved was a decent read, I liked how it dealt with the whole androids topic and made me think, but I didn’t feel the romance at first and there were some things that were a bit creepy/ weird/ made me feel uncomfortable especially in the first half or so of the book which is a bit heavy on the sex.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Power of Five by Alex Lidell
Review: Tempted by Demons by Lidiya Foxglove

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Shifter Mate Magic by Carol Van Natta

  1. Ouch! Bummer about the lingering headache. Those sure do throw off your week. Neat that you got more done on your puzzle and at least got the books read and reviewed. You have me curious about the shifter romance.
Your mashed potatoes blend has me craving them now. I’ll have to do garlic mashed potatoes this week for one of my dinner meals. πŸ™‚

    Have a good week coming.

    • Yeah it really threw off my week and I was so glad when it went away finally. I am glad I got some puzzling done and I managed to scheduled two of the reviews I still had.

I hope you decide to give Shifter Mate Magic a try, it was really good and it’s only 99 cents at the moment :).

I hope you get to eat mashed potatoes this week.

  2. Do you take migraine medicine for your headaches? My brother and sister in law came into town for a little while this week. They’re moving to Northern Nevada and were moving all their belongings from California to Northern Nevada and stopped in over night to say on on the way there and back.

    • I once went to the doctor about them and she said they were tension headaches. I usually just take some normal painkillers, but they don’t seem as effective when I have a bad headache like this one.

That’s nice your brother and sister in law were in town for a while this week. Sounds like quite the move.

  3. I’m really sorry to hear about the headache, Lola – it certainly does take the shine off the week, doesn’t it? Evolved is a fabulous cover… I hope the coming week is less stressed and your sore head is a distant memory!

    • I agree it really does take the shine of the week and it’s hard to get anything done when you have a bad headache. The cover for Evolved is great, I just had hoped I would’ve enjoyed it more.

    • Sorry to hear about your allergies :(, that sounds annoying. I managed to get caught up on a lot of commenting again this weekend luckily. It hard to find the time sometimes to visit blogs.

    • I am glad I got some puzzling done and found a great shifter read, but the headache did put a bit of a damper on the whole week.

  4. Aw sorry to hear about the headache! Multi- day headaches are the worst. I don’t usually get them but when I do they are bad. πŸ™‚

Shifter Mate Magic sounds fun! Glad it was a good reading week too…

    Have a super week Lola!

    • My headaches usually don’t last that long luckily, but this was a really bad one.

Shifter Mate Magic was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to book 2.

    • As I read Fukusha Model Eight shortly before Evolved, it was quite the change as the androids are differently in both books.

It was interesting to see how they handled the whole android topic in Evolved.

  5. I too am sorry to hear about the headaches. My daughter gets multi-day migraines and does have medicine. They get so bad she is light and sound sensitive and has to take meds to not throw up. I’m also about Michelle’s allergies. I have those but found the combo which works for me so I have had no problems for years. Except when I go to SC in April or May, that brings on a 2 week attack. Texas in Feb has cedar pollen which also is not good. Anyway, I will have to look at your review tours when I can fit it in. I find lots of new, interesting authors / books that way. That’s great you found a solution that worked for your allergies. And thanks for saying you’ll have a look at my tours. I hope you find something that catches your interest :).
