sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty good week. It also was a pretty productive week and I got a lot of work done. I put two new sign-up posts live on Lola’s Blog Tours, one for a cover reveal and one for a blog tour. I sent out two media kits for events next week. I did a bunch of assistant work and my new schedule for that is working pretty well so far.

I also cleaned some things around the house a bit and removed the Christmas tree finally. It was nice to have the tree stay a bit longer, but it’s also nice to have it gone.

And my sister visited this week, she even bought some carrot cake, which was delicious. It was fun catching up with her and talking about books and other things.

I am making some good progress with my current jigsaw puzzle, but it is a bit slow going as it’s a bit of a difficult one with lots of green and white.

What did I read this week?

Dangerous MovesPawprints & Predicaments

Both were great 4 stars reads. Dangerous Moves is the first book in a new romantic suspense series by karen Rock and it was a great blend of romance and suspense. Pawprints and Predicaments was a fun cozy mystery and the thirs book in the series. I had fun reading this one and the mystery was a good one.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Mermaid Fins, Wings & Rolling Pins by Erin Johnson
Review: Touch of Rain by Teyla Branton

    • Jigsaw puzzles really make me feel calm as it’s such a quiet activity. That’s nice you can help your mother make hers. we usually let our tree stand a while longer, it’s nice to have that festive feel, but it’s also nice to have it gone now.

  1. Always glad to see you had a good week for work and personal life. Neat that you had a good visit with your sister. I see my brother about once a year since he lives on the other side of the US, but once in a while his job lets him get a flight layover for a few hours at our nearest airport and I can go there and have a few hours with him between flights.

Glad your puzzle and reading this week were good. Oh, and look at you only getting one book. I need to do better about saying no until I get caught up on books.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • That’s too bad your brother lives so far away and you see him rarely. Luckily my sister lives pretty close by so we visit every once in a while.

It’s nice to have one of those weeks were you don’t get too many books. I probably ruin it again with the next few weeks, lol.

  2. I actually miss our Christmas tree but it is nice to not have it in the house anymore.
Sounds like you had a nice visit with your sister. I love hanging with mine but we never do it as often as we should.

I almost bought a puzzle when I went to Barnes and Noble but I knew with the new kittens they might chew on the pieces so I figured I would wait until they are older.

Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • I agree it’s nice to have the tree, but also nice when it’s gone. My sister visits every once in a while and it’s great to catch up with her.

That might be a difficult to puzzle with the kittens indeed. I am so happy for you you’re getting two new kittens and am looking forward to see pictures of them.

  3. Pawprints and Predicaments looks fun! And jigsaw puzzles… I go through cycles with those. Sometimes I’m not at all interested, and then I’ll do three in a row (over a period of days or weeks, of course. I’m not that fast!) We just pruned our jigsaw puzzles down to about six that we would enjoy doing again. When I want to do some again, I’ll pick up a few at the local thrift store. Sometimes they’re missing a piece or two but usually they are all right.

    • It’s a great cozy mystery series so far :). And I am the same with jigsaw puzzles. i do a bunch in a row (it also takes me a few weeks to finish one) and then don’t pick one up for months or years.

  4. I haven’t don a puzzle in ages but they can be fun. I’m not sure what other hobbies I have besides reading- gaming I guess? Although I don’t get to play nearly as many computer games as I used to… πŸ™‚ I used to play a lot of online games but they take so much time…

It is fun to leave the tree up sometimes into the new year. Christmas goes so fast…

    Have an awesome week Lola!

    • I also don’t game as much as I used to, but I do enjoy it. Gaming does take a lot of time indeed. Puzzling takes time too, but I just do a little bit each evening and then I still make progress even tough it goes a bit slower.

I always like leaving the tree up for a while, it’s was up for almost two months I think.

  5. You have a lot going on this week. We love puzzles. We have this classic mustang car puzzle going on right now. We use our island in our Kitchen and we all go back and forth doing it. I like swimming (we have a pool), chillin with my kiddos and playing with my dogs, reading of course, blogging, and playing video games (sometimes). I hope you have a great week reading!

    • I thought it was time to remove the tree this week. The carrot cake (including icing) was really good. I love pies, but hate making them myself, so i was so happy my sister baked one and brought it over πŸ™‚

    • I never tried an app for puzzles, I didn’t even realize they had apps for that, although now that I think of it, I am not too surprised. Isn’t it weird not to have real pieces? But it does sound handy how it doens’t up as much space.

  6. I am VERY partial to carrot cake and wish I could honestly count it as one of my five a day – sadly I can’t! I hope you have a great week and continue to enjoy the jigsaw puzzle. Reading is my main hobby. When the weather is better, I like to go walking with Himself, but right now it’s just too wet and muddy. Have a great week, Lola:)

    • I really like carrot cake too. And while I like baking I usually stick to the cookies, so it was an awesome surprise my sister baked a cake.

I also like the walk when the weather is nice.

    • Sure that counts. I also like watching movies, but rarely go to a movie theater as I prefer to watch them from home. The puzzle is almost done now πŸ™‚

    • I also put my puzzles on the floor, that’s the only place I have space for them. I really like both puzzling and gaming and I’ll try and make time to do a bit of gaming or puzzling each evening.
