sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was a better one than last week, but still a few hurdles, but some good things as well. I baked some brownies last weekend and they were really yummy. I got a new sign-ups post for a bookstagram blitz live this week and di a lot of assistant work. As I had less tour work I focused on some other Lola’s Blog Tours related things. I announced a new service Social Media Posts and a special discount price of $20 for that until the end of January.

I also sent out a newsletter to my authors newsletter about the new service and asked them about another idea I’ve been brainstorming about, namely if they were interested in combination packages were I combine two or more tours and they get a slight discount. Everyone who voted voted for yes so I am planning to work on that and put that on the site later this month. I already have some great ideas for combination packages and I am glad to hear this indicates there would be some interest in that.

At the start of the week we still had quite some construction noise to deal with from another apartment, in fact the first two days of this week had some of the worst noise so far, but the rets of the week we had hardly any noise at all. So I am hoping that means they are almost done. I am also have computer struggles again, it’s been going on and off for more than half a year now, were I have week with lots of troubles and then it seems to work fine for weeks or month son end and then I have some weeks filed with troubles again. It might be time to slowly start saving up for a new computer as I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it.

What did I read this week?

Cookie Dough, Snow & Wands Aglow

Cookie Dough, Snow & Wands Aglow was a fun read with some great revelations.

Book Haul:

The ReprisalDon't Rush MePack Ebon RedPack Violet ShadowPack Obsidian Gold

I got The Reprisal for review and already started reading this one. It’s the third and last book in a great series and I have read more than half of the book already. Don’t Rush me is a book I was really curious about since I first heard of it, so when it popped up on netgalley i couldn’t resist requesting it, even tough it’s a short notice, but I think I should be able to read it before the release date. The other 3 books I won a giveaway about a month ago and I receive them now. I heard good things about this series, so I am exited to have won the first three books.

Did you get any new books this week?

  1. I clicked into your Social Media offer when I saw it on twitter and thought it was a great idea. I can imagine it would save authors a lot of time, and it’s really good value too. Hope it goes well for you. And that’s sickening about your computer Lola, have you tried leaving it in somewhere for them to look at, to see if they can identify the problem? Or maybe it’s more economical to save for a new one like you said. Hate technical issues.

    • Thanks! I am glad to hear you think it’s a good idea :). I also got some positive feedback from some authors as well.

Not yet, but as my warranty expired a long time ago I just don’t know if it’s worth it to pay and fix it. I had hoped to be able to resolve it myself, but I cna’t even figure out what’s wrong.

  2. Wow, this past week went by quickly. I was not ready to think that it was Sunday Post time. LOL
Hey, we made brownies, too. Love those.
Glad your tour package idea met with approval and hope it really brings in the business for you and glad to see your witch series is still going strong. Hope The Reprisal gives you a good finish.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • That’s fun you made brownies as well :).

I hope to put the combination packages on the site next week as I have most of it planned out already.

The Reprisal was a great ending to the series.

  3. LOVE the social media idea! Let me know if you need help with anything. Plus if you need banners for it! that might be something to offer….maybe! πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to hear all your ideas! Sorry the construction is still causing you issues. I hope it’s over soon!

I hope you have an amazing week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • The Social media posts is me writing posts for authors, so not sure what you mean with working the banners in that? Or did you mean banners for their social media accounts? Just let me know and we can see if that’s something we can offer.

  4. Sounds like the work stuff is going well! That’s always nice. Glad the noise has died down some as well- how annoying that must be! And computer problems- ugh. I had some trouble with mine too this past week, and was worried it was on the fritz- but luckily it seems to be okay.

    The Reprisal- love that cover!

    • I’ve been having computer trouble on and off for about half a year now, so sadly I think I am not going to be able to fix it. But I just hope it can hold on for a few months longer.

The Reprisal was great! It’s a great dystopian series πŸ™‚

    • My computer is getting slow too, it’s already a bit older, so I think that’s part of the problem too. I just wish I could figure out what the cause of the current troubles is as some days it works great and other days not so much.

  5. Brownies, yum! That’s good if they’re finally finishing the construction. Ugh, I feel you on the computer problems. I really need a new one too, apparently, but am just not ready to buy one if I really don’t HAVE to right now :-/

Onion and pumpkin fried rice sounds really good and different??

All the books you got this week look really interesting from their covers!

    • The brownies were really good. They are still doing some construction work this week, but not as much noise, so i think they’re almost done.

Computer problems are so frustrating. But at the same time buying a new one is such an investment as well.

It was a good haul this week with all the pretty covers πŸ™‚

    • I hardly spent time figuring out the why this time as I didn’t get much further last time I had these troubles. It’s just so frustrating as there’s no pattern or anything and it’s difficult to figure out what’s wrong.

  6. I did get a new book this week! The newest book in the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. I’m excited to read it so I have to finish up all my other reads and get to it soon. Ugh, I’m sorry to hear that your computer is acting up again. I thought it had been resolved since you hadn’t posted about it in a long time. What a pain in the butt. πŸ™

    • I remember how much you enjoyed that series so I hope the newest book is good too.

I had hoped my computer troubles had been resolved as well as it went well for months, but now it’s starting all over again. Its so frustrating.
