The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Itβs a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was another busy week, I am starting to sound like a broken record by now as every week lately seems to have been a busy one. It probably will be another few busy weeks, but that’s good. I worked on some new tours, some are on the site already and some others not yet. A cover reveal I organized took place this week and I also did some assistant work.
I am trying something new on facebook. As you know I already share which freebies I got during the week in my Sunday posts, but sometimes the books aren’t free anymore then or a book is free that I already own so I won’t list it at my book haul. So I decided to start a weekly post on my fb page where I post discounted and free books in the comments as I encounter them. You can see the facebook post for this week here. You can like the post or comments to get a notification of when I add new books. I hope this makes it easier for people to find cheap or free books and I like spreading the word. I am going to give it a few weeks and see how it goes. I also mention the genre, price and if I have read the book or not.
I managed to write a Lola’s Advice post this week (it’s scheduled for February), I suddenly had inspiration for a post and decided to make time and write it while I had inspiration. I haven’t been feeling very creative or had any inspiration a lot lately, so I decided to make use of it. I also wrote a sign-up post for a challenge I am joining next year and the four quarterly recaps, even though they didn’t take as much time and effort, it still feels good to have them scheduled already. I don’t have any Ramblings posts scheduled for the next year yet, which makes me a bit sad, but I am hoping to at least schedule a post for when I don’t have an Advice or Kitchen post in that week. maybe later this month I can make some time to write a post or two. The next few weeks will be a bit slow in terms of posts as I am not reading as much as I used to, but so far I will have at least 4 posts each week (that’s including the Sunday post).
Oh and last week was my four year blogoversary! It’s hard to believe it’s been four years ago I started this blog. Thanks to Nicole from Feed Your Fiction Addiction for reminding me about my blogoversary. I once filled in my blogoversary on her site and she tweeted me to wish me happy blogoversary, which was fun.
I tried my new kitchen aid this weekend. I made hummus (I don’t like the stuff, but my boyfriend does). The hummus was so much smoother and it was easier to make then with a blender. It was fun to try out the new kitchen aid. It took some time to figure out how to assemble everything, but after that it worked great.
Picture of the Week
Sorry, no picture of the week :(.

For next year I want to get ahead on my posts as well…that way if I’m tired or busy I still have something I can post ready to publish. I’ve been doing that this month with reasonable success but want to expand it next year. Have a good reading week!

Being ahead with posts really helped this past few weeks when I have been busy as I already had some posts scheduled in advance. I want to make sure get a bit of that buffer up again, but it’s been difficult to make time for blogging.
Lola recently posted…Sunday Post #208
I like having post scheduled out too. It’s nice to know if I don’t have the time to post for whatever reason there’s a cushion. Congrats on 4 year whoo hoo! I’m not sure how old my blog is, I think I started it in 2009, I’ll have to check on that. Have a great week!

I actually lost most of my cushion these past few weeks and I hope I can build it up a bit again.
That’s great that you are getting ahead on your posts for next year! I’m trying to do the same, but I feel like I never have enough time….
The freebie post on Facebook is an awesome idea. I do one as well on Fridays and call it my Freebie Friday Alert and try to post books I’ve read or grabbed myself during the week. I’ve slacked off recently though. I’m not sure the last time I posted it.
Hope you have a great week π
PS Happy Blogaversary!!

I normally am way more ahead, so it just feels like I am slowly building up a bit of a cushion again.
I didn’t realize you did a freebie post as well. I hope this way I can share more of the freebies and cheap books I encounter each week.
Some of your busy has been keeping me busy π but I love doing it do I don’t mind at all. lol
Facebook post is a good idea. I have an idea for books I find on my blog, just need to work out the details and hope to show it next year. I am always looking for book deals.
HAPPY blogoversary!!! Mine is in Feb next year, I can’t remember how many years. I think it will be 4 also.
I never had a Kitchen Aid, I always wanted one but we have no room for it. Maybe one day when I get a house, that will be my first purchase lol
Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

I am glad to hear that! I always like seeing the banner after you designed them π
I love book deals, but it’s hard to find a way to share it so as many people see it. I hope the facebook post will help. I am curious to hear what your idea is for books you find!
I didn’t realize we started blogging that close together :). I always forget when exactly my anniversary is, so it was fun to get the reminder.
I had some trouble finding space for the kitchen aid, but I am happy to have one. It really made making hummus so much easier, now to figure out what else to do with it.
Lola recently posted…Sunday Post #208
Congratulations on your blogoversary!!!! I think the holiday times always get super busy but hopefully you’ll find a much-needed break. I love my kitchen aid and use it for everything but I’ve never used it for hummus. My husband loves hummus so much must be a guy thing. I hope you have a great week! Happy reading!!!
My Sunday Post Β
I wanted the kitchen aid specifically for hummus as making it with a handblender was tedious, it goes so much easier with the kitchen aid. Not sure what else to use it for yet, but it seems like it has a lot of different options.
Awesome haul of books this week. I hope you love all of your new books this week.

They both sounds good, I hope to read them soon.
Always good to see your staying busy with work and getting new ideas like the FB freebies. I try to do that, too, but I’m not consistent.
Neat that you were able to do up some smooth hummus in your Kitchen Aid. I’m sure your boyfriend appreciated having it. I like it, too, and make it occasionally.
Looking forward to your new advice post.

That’s partly where I got the idea from, I always like how you group the books in one post like that. I wanted a way to share freebies and cheap books that even more people would see and so I could list the books I already owned or don’t get as well. So I am hoping this will work for that.
Yes the hummus is already all gone and I made it yesterday. It was really easy to make it with the kitchen aid and I could easier adjust the recipe as well. The texture was so much smoother.
Hey glad it was another busy week! And happy 4 years! Funny how fast it goes by huh?
It’s funny how discussion posts go, the inspiration seems to come and go (at least for me). Like I’ll have a bunch of ideas and write em up (hopefully), then other times I draw a blank. Glad you got some inspiration for an Advice post. π And I’m thinking of joining some challenges next year, so you’ve reminded me I need to get on those.
I’m not a big fan of hummus either, and thought I was the only one! I want to like it, but just… don’t.
Greg recently posted…Sunday Post #172
I never realize how long I’ve been blogging until I get reminder of it. It feels like I’ve been blogging for a very long time and not too long at the same time.
I’ve been pretty low on inspiration lately, so when I suddenly got the inspiration for a post I decided to make the time I write it. Almost took me two hours to write the whole post and it got really long, but I got everything I wanted to say in there.
I am only joining Coyer and the New Release Challenge next year. I joined a bunch of challenges this year, but wanted to go with less of them next year.
Same here, I want to like hummus and I know it’s health, but I just can’t stand the taste. I tried it again this time, but I still didn’t like it.
Huge congratulations on your 4 year milestone – you’ve certainly achieved an amazing amount. Glad to hear you are still busy and hope you have a great week. I need to get myself ahead with my blog posts next year, as you have done:). My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/12/11/sunday-post-11th-december-2016/

Thanks! It was nice to realize I’ve been blogging for 4 years now. I actually put quite a dent in the amount of scheduled posts I had thanks through my busy few weeks and am slowly building it up a bit again.
Busy is good! And your FB thing sounds like a good idea. I used to have a sidebar section that I updated every day with freebies I downloaded. Then I tried a page on my blog. Eventually I decided both were too much work.
Yay for inspiration! I also got inspired to write a discussion this week. Injured wrists be damned, I had to write it while I was still feeling the inspiration lol.
Happy blogoversary! I love that it was Nicole’s post that reminded you lol.
Yum I love hummus! Glad your kitchen aid works well π

I want to find a way to share freebies that works as I like sharing the new about good deals that I find. But if I just tweet or post about it, less people see it, I saw someone else do one post with freebies in the comments. So I wanted to give that a try, but then have a weekly pinned post for it.
Sometimes you just need to write a post when you still have the inspiration. I had some work I wanted to do, but decided it could wait and wrote the post instead.
It was so neat to receive the tweet about my blogoversary as I had forgotten all about it.
Happy Blogoversary! I feel like I’m not reading a ton, but I’m not doing too bad. I just need to write and schedule my reviews. I did well the last couple weeks but I always get a bit behind! haha

Sounds like a really nice week! I’m glad you’re having a good one and keeping busy. That can be such a nice thing even if you’re tired at the end of the day. Hope you have a good one!

Yes definitely, I rather be busy and tired at the end of the day than having not enough to do in a day. It’s been a good few weeks π
We both have been so busy! It must be all the end of the year stuff. π And I’m glad to hear the hummus came out better. I bet you’re loving your new food processor.
I like your idea for posting your weekly freebies! I’m going to go over and like the post right now.
S. J. Pajonas recently posted…Sunday Update β December 11, 2016
Yes I am loving my food processor :). It really was so much easier to make hummus this way and it came out better.
Thanks for liking my post! I hope this will be a good way to share about freebies and cheap books. Just wondering what I should do with perma freebies or perma cheap books, it would be weird to list those every week. Maybe I just list those once every weeks.
Happy Blogoversary. 4 years is a long time. I’ve never tried hummus but I’ve thought about it.

Happy four years! And congratulations on a great achievement. Here’s to many more awesome years!
I also received Dawn Study although I hadn’t read any of the other books in the series. I have been enjoying them very much though as I’m binge reading now in anticipation! I hope you enjoy it!
Hope you have a great week!

I hope it’s a good one, I enjoyed the first book in this series and the whole Study trilogy, so I am pretty sure I will enjoy this one too. Looking forward to reading it!
Congratulations on 4 years! That’s an accomplishment. I’ve listened to the first two books of the Twenty Sided Sorceress this year. They are fair. I reviewed the first on on RabidReads if you are interested. I should probably pick up this and read the 3rd one for free, but then it’s probably not free anymore π I love the idea of you posting the freebies on your Facebook as I might have caught it earlier π
Lorna recently posted…Review: Winter Moon by Dannika Dark (@Mollykatie112, @DannikaDark)
Thanks! I figured I would pick them up now that they were free. I’ll check out your reviews for them. I hope the posting on facebook will help people actually hear about the freebies in time instead of only afterwards.
I’ve not gotten ahead. I wish I could. Maybe after the first of the year I will be able to do that. Congrats on getting ahead.
