WinterCoyer

I am so excited to announce that I will be participating in the Coyer challenge this winter! I participated this Summer in Coyer for the first time and I had so much fun, so I decided I had to participate again!

The Clean Out Your E-Reads Challenge is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading. The winter Coyer runs from December 20th 2014 – March 6th 2015 and you can sign up here until January 25th!

For this Coyer there are some rules namely you have to read e-reads and they have to be free or nearly free (really cheap). I plan on focussing on getting some review books read for this Coyer.

My Goals

  • Read and Review at least a total 8 books. My current average is about 4 books a month, and as I wanted to set myself I goal I can reach I thought 8 books must be doable
  • Read and Review at least 4 books I got for review, so 50% of the total books read. I want this challenge to help me get some reviews books read, so I am planning to have at least half of the books I read be review books. I will primarily be focussing on review books I got for review in the recent months as I am still most excited to read those.
  • Participate in at least one twitter party. In the Summer Coyer I managed to miss every twitter party, so I want to make sure to participate in at leats one twitter party this time!
  • Participate in the Scavenger Hunt Read-a-thon. I always say read-a-thons are not my thing, but to be honest I never have participated in one. So I am going to give this one a try. It runs long enough that I hope I can read at least one book in that time period. And it sounds fun!

Books I want to read during this Coyer

It’s a losely based list and I might not read them all, but I thought it was fun to list a few. Most of these are review books, so I got them for free, which makes them count for Coyer.

This is a standalone novella, intended as a prequel to the Darkworld series. As it takes place one year before the events of Darkness Watching, it doesn’t contain any spoilers (although it does hint at things which will come into play later in the series).

Freakish powers and staring demon eyes aren’t part of Claudia’s plans for the future – and neither is ending up stuck at the gloomy, isolated University of Blackstone. But bad life decisions are the least of her problems, when a split-second decision to help out another magic-user puts her in the crossfire of both the shadow-beasts and the creepy organisation which hunt them down.

Claudia’s never had to worry about making the right choice before, but every decision matters when you have a Darkworld connection. Soon, she’s going to have to make a choice: turn her back on the crazy and try to live a normal life, or take the monsters down.

But in a world where everyone seems to have secrets, can she really trust her fellow magic-users – or even herself?

    • I really want to read them as I enjoyed the first book. And I agree Coyer usually adds books to my e-reader instead of cleaning it, but it’s a lot of fun 🙂

    • Last summer I participated in Coyer for the first time and I love it! Michelle and Kimberly really do a great job organizing this.
I have to be carefull not to sign-up for too many challenges as they can be a bit stressfull.

    • Making lists helps me remember which books I want to read and while I am a mood reader I foudn that I enjoy making lists for things like Coyer :). I already read two books from this list and am currently reading the third.
