The 2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge hosted by A Reader Lives A Thousand Lives and Because Reading is Better Than Real Life.

May Recap
- Accept no more than 1 book with a deadlines each month. I already failed this goal in February when I signed-up for two deadline books in March and in April. I did complete this goal for February and January. So I already failed this one.
- Read at least 3 (cozy) mysteries. No progress on this, still at zero cozy mysteries read. I have grabbed some free cozy mystery books though, does that count as progress? I guess not, but there is still time.
- Read at least 3 historical romances. I read 2 historical romances so far. I read The Mine by John Heldt. It’s actually a bit of a crossover book with time travel and historical romance elements, but I thought the historical romance elements where prominent enough to count it as historical romance. And I read In for a Penny by Rose Lerner, which was a lot of fun. I have grabbed a few free historical romances and own a paperback historical paranormal romance, so at least I have enough books to read in this genre.
- Read at least 20 review books this year. Last month I decided I am going to try and reach the 40 review books. At the moment I have read 33 review books! So I am doing really wel with this goal.
- Organize at least 30 tours with Lola’s Blog Tours. I organized 17 tours so far, one of them doesn’t have a banner yet. So that means I am still ahead with this goal. I am also doing well with my cover reveals and review opportunities.
This is such great goals you have here!! I do need to read Rose Lerner…so I am glad you enjoyed her.

It was one of my first historical romances I read and I quite enjoyed it. It definitely made me want to read mroe books in this genre.

Wow Lola:D! You’re going to reach your goal very soon:D :D! I haven’t made any book resolutions, for me it’s too much pressure, or I just rebel and don’t do it. lol, I’m bad at sticking to the black and white print.

I liked that this challenge let me choose my own goals, I am not really goal oriented, but I am very disciplined so when I decide to do something I probably will.
I am happy I am doing so well with my review copies goal, never expected I would end up doubling my goal.

You’re doing really well Lola – even if you failed at one goal, you’re kicking butt on almost all the rest. Cozies are so fun, I bet once you finally start one you’ll read several 🙂 Good luck in June!

Thanks! I am really happy with the progress I made so far :). I am hoping to read at least one cozy this month, I have at least two of them on my ipad that I want to read. I am pretty sure I will enjoy the genre, but it’s still hard to start reading books in a new genre. Maybe I’ll have to follow more bloggers who review cozies.
You’re doing pretty well on your resolutions! I bet you read those cozy mysteries some time soon. I’d love to hear how you feel about the genre. I don’t think I’ve ever read one!

Thanks! I am happy with my progress as well. I have two cozies on my kindle app, so I am hoping to get at least one of them read this month. I have read a few murder mysteries in the past which I enjoyed, so I am thinking I will enjoy the cozy mysteries as well, but not sure yet. Exploring a new genre is always a bit difficult at first.

I failed my first goal, but I am doing great with the other goals :). Setting these goals really helped, although I think some things like the review books would go well even without it, it’s still fun to count them and keep track of how well I am doing, makes me feel accomplished 🙂
You’re doing well, Lola. So you haven’t made progress on a few – that’s okay. There’s still time. 🙂 And as close as you are to some of your goals, it looks like you’ll be able to focus on those that need more of your attention. Keep up the good work!

I agree it’s boring to not have any progress to report, but indeed we’re not even on the half of the year yet, so still enough time. It’s nice to have achieved one goal already and I even doubled my goal for that.
