sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?
This was again a busy week and I am thinking that it will probably stay that way for a while. I had multiple blog tours running with Lola’s Blog Tours and had two new tours open for sign-up this week.

Last Sunday we put Pita back into the cage with the other girls and they all seemed happy Pita was back again. She’s recovering well and you can almost see nothing more from her surgery. The other girls seem happy they are getting a bit more attention now.

I also tried making a Pecan Cheesecake last sunday and it turned out pretty well. I used this recipe for the crust.
And I made the Chocolate Snickerdoodles cookies again this week, these cookies are so delicious. One of the best cookies I ate, really you should try making these. The recipe is easy and the cookies are so good!

And I had so submit some tax stuff this week for Lola’s Blog Tours and I did pretty well these last 3 months, so I am pretty happy about that and hope this upward trend continues! Some days I dare hope that I actually can make enough money with this to pay the rent and that thought makes me so happy! I really love my job and even though I work pretty much on a day and can’t take a break very easily, I don’t mind because I am doing the kind of work that I love and that’s the best feeling there is. My mom always thought me to follow my dreams and days like that can make me feel like it’s really worth to follow your dreams and you can even make a living from it.

I didn’t check my hosting stats for the whole week. I was busy with other things and didn’t wanto the added worry and stress if it wasn’t solved. I did a quick lok friday and my changes seemed to have worked a bit, but not enough yet.

I’ve been working on some posts for sci-fi November, I have 3 of the 4 Lola’s Ramblings posts scheduled for that month. I want to interview some sci-fi authors during November, but I haven’t made the time to contact any authors yet. I better do that soon! But for some reason the thought of actually reaching out to authors is still scary.

And something exciting happened this week I won a signed copy of Forbidden by Kelley Armstrong! I enter a lot of her giveaway, but you know hundreds if not thousands of people probably enter those giveaways, so even though I enter I know I have almost no chance of winning, I don’t even think about the giveaway anymore after I enter. But this time I was clicking through my e-mails and suddenly read I won the giveaway! I was so excited! I love Kelley Armstong her books, but I just can’t afford her Subterranean press novella’s as they are quite pricey, so that makes me extra happy to have won a signed copy of a book I didn’t own yet! I can’t wait for my copy to arrive!

Random Picture(s) of the Week:

It’s not a perfect picture, but this is the Pecan cheesecake I made last sunday. It was pretty good, although next time I make this I plan on using another dough as I wasn’t 100% satisfied with it. The dough itself was good, but didn’t fit the pecan pie.

It’s going to be difficult enough to make it as the first female manager in the league and prove to her overly critical father she’s worthy. No distractions. No missteps. Meeting Sanaa Griffin in the dōjō is not the kind of first date Jiro had in mind. In fact, teaching her to sword fight is more like a cruel joke. He’s told not to get involved. He’s told to instruct her and make her fight, but that’s it. No flirting, no dating, and keep it business. Though she’s small and nervous, Sanaa surprises him when he puts her to work, and a slight but cautious friendship develops between the two. Who is Sanaa really, and why is Jiro expected to train her when he has so many other things he should be doing? Where does she stand in his life, as lover, friend, or enemy?

REVEALED is a collection of companion short stories to REMOVED, Book ONE of the Nogiku Series. Read REVEALED first or read it later, but don’t miss this look into the other side of Sanaa’s story.

Approximately 13,000 words (Five chapters).

Nice read again 🙂 Glad to hear you love the job so much! I am really happy for you! Hope your can make a living out of it some day would be pretty awesome 😀 Also the cookies were indeed super delicious 😉 and hope next time I might get a bite of the pecan pie ;D haha have a nice sunday 😉

    • Indeed, it would be pretty awesome if I could make a living doing what I love.

I will certainly make the pecan pie another time and then double the recipe as this one was really small and there were only 4 pieces, it was gone in two days ;). I am making cookies again today, so maybe you can take a few to your internship tomorrow :).

  2. YUM!!! The Pecan Cheesecake looks really yummy! going to have to pin that recipe to check out later and the cookies 🙂 So glad Pita is feeling better and can go back to hanging with her friends.

I am sure Lola’s Blogs Tours will be able to do that for you one day. I will always recommend you for blog tours if anyone asks!

Have a great week Lola and Enjoy your reads!

    • The Pecan cheecake was really yummy, I am glad I tried it out! let me how it turns out if you try it 🙂

Aww thanks so much! That really means a lot to me, word of mouth is so important in this business! I really hope I can make a living doing what I love.

I hope I have some time to read this week, I have read the first few chapters of Silver Shadows and it’s really good so far!

  3. OMG that pecan cheesecake looks and sounds so yummy! I’m not much of a cook, but I’m a decent baker so I might just try it!

I’m glad to hear Pita is doing well – I’ve been out of the loop so I didn’t know she was sick 🙁 Surgery sounds pretty series, but sounds like everything went well, so that’s a relief.

Congrats on Lola’s Book Tours doing so well – I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that it will stay that way. Sure would be awesome if you could make it your only job! Go for it!

    Have a great week!

    • I love bakign and cooking, at least when I am in a good mood. When I am feeling happy I tend to bake a lot. I love trying new recipes.

Pita had a tumor that needed to get removed and after that she had to be kept seperate for about a week so the other two girls wouldn’t tear open her stitches. She seems happy to be back in the cage again with the other two. They’ve been making a mes out of their cage this week, lol.

At the moment Lola’s Blog Tours is my only job, but my mom still helps a lot financially because I don’t make enough money yet. I really want to be able to pay more of the rent as my mom has been helping for so long already. I’ve bene putting more work into Lola’s Blog Tours in the last few months and it seems lke it’s paying off!

    • Thanks so much for signing-up as a tour host and for a review opportunity and blitz :).

I loved Third Daughter and can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I enjoyed Karen Rock her books so far, so I am looking forward to reading A League of Her Own.

    • I really enjoy Karen her writing style and how she can make the characters come to live. I am looking forward to A League of Her Own, it sounds really good!

    • I am really happy the herd babes are back together and ofcourse they are making a mess out of their cage again, but I love them too much to get angry at them.
And a flourless chocolate pie sounds yummy! I am curious what do you have to use instead of four?
I am just heating up the oven for another batch of those Chocolate Snickerdoodles, I just can’t stop baking and eating them.

    • Thanks Kimba :). I love signed copies as well, but hardly ever have the chance to get my hand on them because I live in the Netherlands. So it’s really awesome to win one!
I am just making another batch of chocolate snickerdoodles, they are so yummy. I actually never made normal snickerdoodles, but as my boyfriend loves chocolate these ones might be more appreciated anyway.

    • I had to experiment with ingredients a few times as well, just two days ago I realized I didn’t buy coriander and trew in some other green looking spices instead, lol. I also have had isues sometime swith recipes that require a certian brand or product they don’t sell here in the Netherlands and I had to take another ingredients. I also have had my fair share of recipes that didn’t turn out to well and I am never making again, lol.

  4. The cheesecake looks amazing! I love cheesecake but they can be tricky. Glad to hear Pita is doing better and that the blog tour business is on the upswing! Great books this week! I’m really interested in the Kelly Armstrong book. I’ve heard some great things about the author and I’m really wanting to try her. Have a great week!

    • Cheesecakes can be tricky indeed, I think this is my second try at cheesecake and it turned out pretty well.

I am a big fan of Kelley Armstrong her books and I am so excited to have won a signed book by her! I hope you give one of her books a try!

    • Thanks Greg! I am really happy the blog tour business is doing better.

I baked Chocolate snickerdoodles again yesterday, they are so good!

I am so looking forward to sci-fi month and seeing what other bloggers come up with!

    • I would definitely recommend the cookies! I tried them another time this week without the chocolate in the dought but with chocolate pieces instead and those turned out really well! I already made banana cinnamon rolls this week and tried out some new dinner recipes, so I’ll have a few more links next week ;).

    • Aww thanks Lexxie! I certainly hope it continues to grow as well!

I just made next week’s random picture of the week and it will be something yummy again 😉
