The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
Last week was quite eventful, so I tried to take it a bit easier this week. Instead of the warm and dry weather we’ve been dealing with, the weather turned colder and we had so much rain this week, which is great as we’re dealing with drought lately. The only downside it that our house is cooler down much less slower than the outside world, so it’s been warm and humid now most of the week in our house. Luckily in the past few days it has finally cooled down inside the house too.
Later in the week I had an migraine with aura. I don’t get these often, I think the previous one was more than half a year ago, so they always take me by surprise. The actual migraine is mostly annoying as there isn’t much I can do while having the aura in my vision, but the worst part is how scrambled my brain feels afterward and I usually get a heavy headache too. I knew to expect to headache so took some painkiller while the aura was going on and that helped as the headache didn’t last long.
I continued taking the new enzyme mix I bought for help with my gut issues and it seems to work well so far, but it doesn’t seem to help with the bloating sadly. I forgot to take the enzymes two days and could really notice the difference in my gut symptoms, so I am sticking with it for now.
I bought some glutenfree cake and cookies for my upcoming birthday as well as some whipped cream and strawberries, so I can assemble my own pie that way. It turned out really well and was very tasty.
What did I read this week?
I also DNF’d two audiobooks The Calculated Whisk and The Next Chapter Bookshop
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Tides Wait for No Witch by Natalie Summers
– Review: The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop by Annabel French
– Review: Tarts & Tiaras by Laura Greenwood
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Nobody’s Baby by Olivia Waite
– Review: Books, Iced Coffee & a Side of Dragons by Amanda Lovelace
– Review: The Dog Park Murders by Angela Barker

So sorry to hear about your migraine. It’s such a debilitating thing! It’s cooled down here a lot, too. Only we’ve only had a small amount of rain, so if you feel like sending more over our way, we’d be very grateful! I hope the coming week is an easier one, Lola.
I usually have the migraines without aura, so this one took me by surprise, luckily these don’t happen as often. I hope you’re getting some more rain soon, this week has been a lot dryer and warmer again.
Ugh, sorry about the migraine. And having to wait for your house to cool down, but glad it is finally there. Some good books, I’m so behind on commenting, hoping to get around to that soon! Hope you have a better week.

The migraine was annoying and especially the aftermath of it. I am glad our house finally cooled down it made this week a lot more bearable too.
Nice to get that cooler weather and the rain for you. Our house is slow to cool down, too. Ugh for the migraine. I call those kind which take a while to recover from my migraine hangovers.
Glad the enzymes are working well and you had a lovely strawberry birthday pie! Happy birthday!
Have a good week, Lola!
I was happy with the cooler weather especially when our house finally cooled down too. With these aura migraines the hangover is even worse than the actual event. And even with the non-aura migraines it always takes me a few days to feel back to normal.
Thanks! The birthday pie was lovely and the enzymes are working well.
Geez, I am so sorry to hear about the migraine and gut issues! I really hope things calm down for you next week! Migraines take so long for me to get over, even when the physical pain is gone.
Thanks! Yeah the aftermath of the migraine was really bad this time and took me days to feel normal again.
So sorry about the migraine. But the cake and strawberries sounds yummy! Happy birthday!

The migraine was annoying. I am glad the cake with strawberries worked out so well.
Happy birthday!
Sorry to hear about the migraine. I was hoping once they gave you something for the migraines that it would work and you wouldn’t get them so much.
Thanks! This was an aura migraine, not the usual ones I have, luckily I only have these very rarely.
