Tarts & Tiaras is book three in the Falhaven Castle series, a cozy fantasy with a baking dragon, a princess who wants to be in the kitchen over the throne room, and the baker who wants to be there with her. There is a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance, with a pinch of steam in later books, and an ace heroine.

My Review

I really like this series so far and was excited to return to Falhaven castle for another book. In this book Evie’s birthdya is coming up and her mother wants her to meet with potential suitors, but Evie is in love with pastry chef Nate and he with her and she wants to spend time with him instead. She has to figure out how to deal with her mother’s matchmaking attempts and figure out what her relationship with Nate will look like and whether she wants to tell her mom about it or not.

There’s a lot going on in this book. Evie has some tough things to deal with when it comes to her mother wanting her to meet suitors and she really struggles with that and having to do things a certain way that don’t work for her. And she and Nate just confessed their feelings to each other, so they’re trying to figure out how it all works and what their future might look like. I liked how Veronica, Evie’s sister, is there again for her and helps her out a lot.

Nate and Evie are just so sweet together. I like seeing them figure out what it means to be together and Evie slowly realizing how this will impact their futures. I like how they talk about things and get to know more about the other and how their relationship will work. I am really excited to see how their romance continues. I also really like the baking scenes and seeing Evie and Nate bake together.

I like reading about Evie, she’s such a relatable character with her sensory sensitivities and social struggles. I really like how the author wrote her character and I like how she has a great sister in Veronica who helps her with a lot of things.

To summarize: This was a great third book in the series. I like reading more about Evie, I find her very relatable and fun to read about. Evie has to deal with meeting potential suitors her mother picks out for her, but she’s in love with pastry chef Nate and wants to figure out what their relationship looks like. I liked reading about Nate and Evie, they are so sweet together and I like seeing how they’re figuring things out now that they confessed their feelings to each other. I like how they talk about things as they’re figuring out what their future might look like. The baking scenes are a lot of fun too and I like seeing them bake together. I also like seeing how Evie’s sister Veronica helps her out of explains things to her. All in all another great book in this series and I can’t wait for the next one!
