The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week the temperatures were luckily a lot cooler, sadly it took many days before our house started feeling a bit more comfortable again and it got colder inside the house as well. Some cloudy days later in the week were helpful with that.
I got a bunch of smaller tasks done, like ordering some things and calling to check up on some things that I hadn’t gotten around to last week and it was good to get caught up on those before my migraine hit later in the week. Luckily the migraine was pretty mild, I had brain fog, but not much pain, so that’s good. I have been feeling a bit more anxious and on edge this week, so I hope next week is better in that regard.
I found out this week that one of the things I’ve been eating for breakfast for months now actually isn’t low-FODMAP. While most of my symptoms have gone down after I started eating low-FODMAP I still have quite a lot of bloating, so I felt like I was still missing something that caused symptoms.
Then one morning I ran out of my glutenfree ontbijtkoek (it’s a Dutch product) and noticed I was having less bloating, then realized it actually isn’t low-FODMAP. So I removed that from my routine now and will see if that helps. I also want to try swap out my soy milk for another vegan milk to see if that gives me symptoms or not and try glutenfree oats instead of the oats I’ve been eating as they often are contaminated with gluten and so far I’ve noticed I am very sensitive to gluten. So a little bit more progress has been made there. And I hope I can rid of most of the bloating I am still dealing with.
What did I read this week?
I also finished a Dutch book called Finisterre, I usually don’t read Dutch books anymore, but I am glad I picked this one up as it was really good. It was a nonfiction book about someone who hiked the Camino.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Field Guide for the Formerly Villainous by Autumn K. England
– Review: Eclipse by Celia Lake
– Review: The Frog Ward’s Journey by Laura Greenwood and Ariana Jade
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Careless Whiskers by Miranda James
– Review: Murder by Memory by Olivia Waite
– Review: A Demon Chef’s Recipe For Tasty Tapas by Ariana Jade

Happy Sunday!
Thanks!
I’m sorry you are bloating again, hopefully the removal helps quickly. Hope you have a great week!
I never got fully rid of the bloating even though my other symptoms have resolved, so I hope I can figure out whether I am still eating something that causes it.
Ugh, that sucks you’d thought that one thing was okay, but glad that at least now you know it isn’t what you need and that you noticed a difference when you stopped it. I just realized an English muffin brand I’d been buying because it didn’t have vegetable oil in, something I try to avoid, now is showing it has it in the ingredients. Glad your migraine wasn’t as bad as they are sometimes, and glad your temps cooled off this week. Hope you have a week with no migraines!

Yeah figuring out the whole food things stays a mess, this was a product I had switched out early on and didn’t realize it wasn’t low-FODMAP and thought it was okay as it was glutenfree. That’s a shame those English muffins have vegetable oil after you bought it because it didn’t have it.
Glad you discovered what was still causing your bloating – it’s always tricky tracking down exactly what is causing your discomfort. And you have my sympathy at the slow rate the house cooled down – our place also time before it was at the ambient temperature again! I hope the coming week isn’t too hard on you, Lola.
Especially now most of my symptoms have been resolved, it’s hard to figure out what’s causing the bloating still. The house definitely seems to hold the heat in way too well, but I am glad it has cooled down a bit.
*took* sigh…
It’s good that you were able to figure that out about the food that you had been eating. I hope you have a good week.
It was a shame as I liked that product, but hopefully the bloating will go down a bit now.
It’s a process figuring out what works and doesn’t. My daughter isn’t celiac but gluten bothers her. Then other foods don’t work for other reasons like ed meat, grapefruit, acidic things like oranges o tomatoes. I hope you find what woks for you.
