sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week went a bit better than the last one. I am still more tired because of the bad reaction I had to the antibiotics. And then daylight saving time on top of that hasn’t been helping and I still feel off schedule and rushed most days as I am not back to my usual times from before the time change.

My infected toe has been doing better with the ointment I have for it, but it isn’t fully healed yet. I could only use the ointment for 2 weeks and had to stop after that, so I’ll have to see whether it recovers on it’s own or if I have to contact the doctor again.

On Friday I went out with my boyfriend to get some ice cream from a place nearby, the ice cream was good and we had a good time enjoying our ice cream and after that walked around a bit.

We had a few mosquitos in the house this week, but luckily later in the week the last mosquito netting we ordered arrived and we installed that in the last window, so hopefully no more mosquitos now. The mosquito netting was very good quality and fit well in the window. The DIY mosquito netting option on one of the windows we think we have to replace as it was already not sticking well anymore in some places, so we went ahead and ordered the custom made netting for that one as well. We really don’t want to deal with mosquitos again, the few we had this week were annoying.

I finished up the book I was prooflistening and hope to start on the next one soon. I also did some formatting changes to the books I formatted last week and those should be mostly done now.

What did I read this week?

Ugh, I keep hoping you won’t have to deal with the mosquitos this year. That is crazy that it comes from inside. I hope the new ones you order will help too. Hopefully you continue to keep feeling better after all that other stuff too, like your toe needs to get better! I am hoping to have some time this week or while I’m at the conference out of town next weekend to get some reviews read that I’m behind on. Hope this is a good week!

    • It sure was crazy how the problem came from inside last year, I think they fully fixed that late last year as I haven’t seen any mosquitos in the building yet this year. Now they just come from outside as we didn’t have netting until not. My toe keeps continuing to improve luckily, hopefully it’s fully back to normal soon.

  2. I’m glad the mosquito netting for the windows is working. Hopefully you won’t have to deal with them this year as much as last year. Sorry to hear the antibiotics gave you a reaction. Hopefully your toe will heal on its own.

    • I sure hope we won’t have many mosquitos this year, last year was so bad. I think my toe will heal on it’s own now, it’s just taking a while.

  3. I hope you’ll be feeling better this week and have less mosquitos. I’m trying to somehow save up my energy for the yard work this week since the temperatures will be cooler and I now have the supplies.

    • I hope you got to do your yard work this week. My energy levels seem to be finally back to normal, so that’s nice. And the netting seems to be working so far, just need to replace one of them when the one we ordered arrives.

  4. I’m so glad you’re feeling better and got in an ice cream date. Nicely done on the book jobs and having less mosquitos. So frustrating you had any, I’m sure.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • Indeed the few we had were frustrating enough, so I am glad we mostly got it fixed, just waiting on that last netting to arrive to replace the one that isn’t working as well and that should be it. The ice cream date was fun.

  5. Yes mosquitoes are annoying. My son has horrible reactions to their bites and get’s large, hot swollen areas that are often the size of a large orange. We went and got ice cream the other day when it was almost 80 degrees out. However, is was 28 this morning. Ugh.

    • I get bad reactions to mosquito bites as well with the large swollen areas, although luckily they don’t get quite as large as when I was a kid. I found out last year that anti-histamine pills work pretty well when I get bitten, maybe that works for your son as well. Glad you got to get ice cream too when the weather was nice.
