sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week had a lot going on, but I actually felt pretty good about this in general even though there were some stressful and annoying moments as well. I think the biggest difference was that I actually had a normal amount of energy this week and it was so nice to be able to get things done.

On Monday I went with my boyfriend to a nearby city for lunch. We visited this cool building that’s curved over a food market and it was really fun to visit. The building was impressive to see and had this huge artwork on it that you could see from the food market. We had Japanese curry for lunch at a nice place and it was pretty good. Then we walked around a bit more and returned home for dinner.

My back pain got better this week, but I still have a spot that feels painful with some moves. I tried to take it easy. Later in the week my period migraine hit, luckily the meds seemed to worked well this time and I could still get some things done. I didn’t even have much brain fog like usual, one of the mildest migraines I’ve had a while.

I worked on my taxes for last year and finally got them all done, what a relief to have that done. I also got a note about a mistake in my taxes from 2021, so had to look into that and realized indeed we had a mistake and they were right. So I probably have to pay some more taxes for that year, but not sure yet, I’ll have to wait and see what they say.

I didn’t do as much work due to all the other things I had going on. One of the author’s I do assistant work for had her kickstarter end this week and it did pretty well, which was fun to see. I did some work on some upcoming tour sign ups posts and I got a new formatting job I made a start on.

Oh and my review for The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna went live on my blog this week. I really loved this book and would appreciate it if you would check out my review for it.

What did I read this week?

Homicide at the Haunted HouseViolet MoonLove Sugar Magic: A Dash of TroubleGhost with the Most

Homicide at the Haunted House was such a fun read, the mystery kept me guessing and the haunted house where supernaturals worked was fun.
I really liked the premise for Violet Moon as it has a pack of werewolves running a bakery, but the book slowly turned into a bit of a struggle with small issues that started adding up.
Love Sugar Magic: A Dash of Trouble was really good and fun. It’s about a family of Mexican witches who have baking magic and their power comes from sugar and love. Leo discovers she has magic and gets into some trouble.
The premise of Ghost with the Most is really good with the main character being a ghost, but I struggled a bit with the character dynamics in this book.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Berry Infusion and Lots of Confusion by Laura Greenwood
Review: Ghost Ship by Veronica Scott
Review: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

    • It really was nice to have normal energy, I definitely hope that soon that’s every week again. I was amazed at how much I was able to get done. I think I get some back, but also had to pay something and I think part of the payment was still missing form this as I already set some aside for that. Still have to look into it. Sorry to hear you have to pay some taxes too, that’s never fun when your financial situation is already tight.

  1. Glad things are looking up for you. Hubby did taxes last month so that out the way we always owe and we did our property tax payment as well. Hope you have a great week.

  2. I’m glad you’re feeling better, and that your monthly migraine wasn’t as bad as usual. I hope the 2021 taxes don’t come to much. I’m trying to avoid reading reviews of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches until I finish writing my own review, but then I’ll try to get over to check out yours. Have a great week!

    • It was a relief the monthly migraine wasn’t as bad this time and having more energy again is so nice. I really hope the 2021 taxes mistake won’t be too pricey. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches was really good, I look forward to hearing what you think of it once you read it.

  3. Yay for a winning week with your energy level and a mild migraine and even more for a fun lunch date and tasks done for work. Crossing fingers you won’t owe too much for the 2021 taxes.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • It was really nice to have a better week in regards to my energy levels and with the fun lunch date and mild migraine it was a good week. I hope the 2021 taxes won’t be much.
