sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was a bit of a struggle again. I had some severe pain in my back that lasted the whole week, it’s finally getting better now. I also had some shoulder pain that came and went. I am pretty sure I overdid it last week when I went on a cleaning and de-dusting spree. So that back pain put a bit of a damper on my week, I took some painkillers and try to keep moving it a bit so it won’t stiffen up too much and it’s slowly getting better. I’ve been struggling with my mental health as well this week, it’s tough having so little energy and not being able to get much done and then with the back pain this week as well, it was hard. Luckily we had some sunny days this week, which helps a bit.

Work wise I got the sign up live for a new YA/ NA fairytale fantasy book, I organized a tour for book 1 and am excited to be organizing this one for book 2. A tour I organized started this week and I’ve been checking the tour stops daily. I’ve been emailing with another author about an upcoming tour as well. And I’ve been keeping up with some work for one of my authors who has a Kickstarter going on, it’s been interesting following along and seeing how it plays out.

What did I read this week?

Mischievous Familiars For Cordial FairiesWrenchedA Pose Before Dying

I struggled a bit with the start of Mischievous Familiars For Cordial Fairies, but it got better after that and was a fun and sweet romantic read with a cute corgi familiar.
Wrenched was probably my least favorite in this series so far as there was a severe health issue the love interest was struggling with due to an enemy attack in book 4, which made this one feel more heavy and sad in tone.
A Pose Before Dying was a solid start to this new cozy mystery series. It had a fun concept with a cat yoga studio and I enjoyed reading about the main character and the mystery.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Earl Grey and New Rules on Play by Laura Greenwood
Review: The Elf Tangent by Lindsay Buroker
Review: The Secret, Book and Scone Society by Ellery Adams

  1. I had some mental health struggles this past week too. Especially Friday. I went home and pretty much didn’t want to do anything but curl up and sleep on my couch. Even moved my nightly tv time to my bedroom so I could sit in my adjustable mattress bed and doze without getting a crick in my back or neck. Saturday night felt the same and slept almost 10 hours again. I need to get back on track this week and am going to try to not let work and people at work get me down again.

    • I am sorry to hear you had some mental health struggles as well this week :(. Hopefully you were able to relax a bit this weekend and that this week will be better.

  2. What a shame that you still had muscle fatigue from your cleaning and then got hit with some mental health struggles, but I’m glad you were able to get some big work projects done and read a few good ones from your book stack.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I think I hurt something wrongly in my back as it’s still not fully back to normal and that’s a long time for something to hurt. I am glad I got that tour sign up live at least this week.

  3. I know all too well how you’re feeling. I so horribly unfit after spending most of the last 3 years in bed that I end up with lots of stiffness and sore knees and hips after doing relatively gentle housework. I have a TENS machine which comes to my rescue with the hips:)). I hope the coming week is a far kinder one, Lola:).

    • I think I somehow managed to do something wrong to hurt something badly in my back as it’s still not fully back to normal. I actually move regularly, just not these moves I guess. Sorry to hear about your stiffness and sore knees and hips your struggle with when you do housework, that makes it even less fun to do.

    • It’s slowly getting back to normal, but I still have to be careful with some movements. The pain definitely made everything worse.
