sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty full week with a lot going on. I am still struggling with low energy levels. I think part of it is because of the stress from the last few months, but I realized another part is probably due to the days getting shorter and there being less sunlight. I often feel low on energy in the autumn and winter months and feel very sleepy throughout the day as if I can’t fully wake up. I know they have these lights you have to sit in front of every morning, but as that didn’t appeal to me, so I decided to try a different option. I bought some extra bright light bulb and now every morning sit in a very brightly lit room while waking up. And so far it seems to help and I feel more awake during the day even when I switch the lights back to their normal settings after the first hour or two of the day. I am glad it seems to work so far and hope it continues to do so even as the days get even shorter.

Besides that I had an important appointment for which I was really anxious, but it actually went surprisingly good. It was such a relief. We’re still waiting for some results that should arrive next week, so fingers crossed for good news. And we have again an issue with our kitchen sink being clogged and even worse as now the water comes up through a pipe in the scullery. After having to clean up the dirty water from there a few times we figured out how far we can open the faucet without it causing an issue, which makes for difficulties washing the dishes and such with a tiny stream of water. Next week was the first opportunity for an appointment to fix it so we’ll have to make due till then.

My boyfriend is trying another new medicine as the previous one he thought worked still gave him the same concerning side effect after using them for a while. So it’s back to trying another one. I also got a migraine this week, but the medicines seems to work decently and I mostly struggled with brain fog.

Work wise I didn’t get as much done with everything else going on. I did some of the usual replying to emails work and checking sign ups. I got materials for a new review opportunity, but it’s not live yet. I also did a little bit of assistant work that was important to get done this week.

  1. I hope you find the brighter lights work. My son told me to get up and go outside – even if it’s for just 5 minutes in the morning when I’m struggling with my energy levels. Sadly, when I’m really struggling, I feel too ill and dizzy – but it seems to help at other times. Fingers crossed you feel better soon, Lola.

    • The brighter lights seem to work so far, I think it also helps that I spend about 1-2 hours in a brightly lit room every morning. I tried going outside in the morning and haven’t noticed as much effect from that, but that’s probably as this time of year it’s often overcast and raining, sunny days seem to help more.

  2. Nice work around with the brighter bulb to help with the seasonal blues. Hoping your phone appointment will bring good results for you. Good that the plumbing problem will be fixed for you this week and you got another tour project for work. Hopefully, you’ll have a much better week, Lola!

    • I think the brighter bulb was a good idea as it seems to help so far. Sadly the plumbing problem won’t be fixed till next week, the company just called to change the appointment.
