sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

After the stress and busyness of the previous weeks, this week I was just so tired. I didn’t have a lot of energy and didn’t get a lot done. I tried to take things easy and take extra breaks so I could recover a bit. And I baked red velvet cookies using beet powder, which turned out great.

Work wise I had 3 tours running this week which kept me busy as well as some assistant work.

Pets in Space 8 released this week. I always look forward to this anthology and already read Pajonas’ story in it as well as Carol Van Natta’s story, both were great. If you like scifi romance and/ or pets in books I can definitely recommend this anthology.

What did I read this week?

– Review: Master of Hounds Book 2 by R.A. Steffan
– Review: The Stag and the Baroness by Laura Greenwood

  1. I think you’re very wise to take the opportunity to take it a bit easy – you’ve had a tough time with everything that’s been going on, recently. I hope the coming week is a kind one, Lola.

  2. Yeah, headaches sap me of energy, too. Glad you had a recovery week with time to relax and do some baking. I’ve only read Gail Koger’s story in PIS8 and am reading Carol Van Natta’s right now. So far so good. 🙂

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • It was nice to take things a bit easier this week and do some baking, it’s been so long since I last did that. I look forward to hear your thoughts about Carol Van Natta’s story :).

  3. I am glad were able to take it easy a bit. I think we need to do that for ourselves sometimes. Probably more often than we actually do.

Spell House and Shadow Lords both look good. I hope you enjoyed them!

Have a great week, Lola. I hope it is less busy and stressful.

    • I agree, I think taking care of ourselves is very important, but it’s hard to admit that and take it easy sometimes.

Spell Hound was great, Shadow Lord unfortunately was a DNF.

  4. I think it’s the best thing to do some resting after stressful weeks. I hope you do get some more rest. I’ve never heard of red velvet cookies made with beet flour! How interesting. I think that would be a great alternative for someone with gluten allergies. My daughter-in-law can’t eat wheat or dairy.

Enjoy your new reads and have a lovely, restful week!

    • The beet powder worked really well in the cookies, it only took a tablespoon and a half to really add a lot of color. The cookies itself were made with normal flour, the beet powder is only for the coloring.

  5. I completely understand feeling exhausted and wanting to take it easy. I’m so beat. Here I am, finally getting around to reading blogs. I am weeks behind at this point. I hope your week this week was good! And thank you for reading and reviewing Tilli’s Second Chance. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.

    • It was nice to take it easy for a bit as I was so tired from the past few weeks. I hope to read one more story and then post a partial review of Pets in Space 8 on my blog as well with the reviews for the stories I read so far. I just finished Carysa Locke’s story which was awesome!
