sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week didn’t start off smoothly, but it got a lot better as the week progressed. The first few days of this week just didn’t go well, I was really low on energy and felt frustrated. I also messed up a dish for dinner, usually it’s really good, but this time it tasted bland. I am blaming the low quality tomatoes for that, but it sure didn’t help my mood. Then halfway through this week things started improving my mood was better and my energy was better and I suddenly came up with these things I wanted to do for my business and did them. The week continued to be pretty good. I am still doing my best to continue with taking enough breaks and taking care of myself.

Recently I haven’t done much extra work for my business and have been mostly focusing on doing the essential work and not much else due to my burnout/ funk. This week I started worrying about my business and thinking of what I could to and suddenly got inspiration and motivation for things. I started with trying to post daily on Instagram as well as Twitter and Facebook. Then I wrote and send out a newsletter to my author list announcing my upcoming book formatting service. I got the graphics for my new service, so I am almost ready to launch it. Then I wrote a blog post for authors that I hope to publish later this month. I felt quite productive. Next to the extra work I did, I also did the usual tour work and assistant work this week. I also got a new short job from an author that I hope to work on next week.

After listening to some episodes of my favorite podcast for the past week or so I decided to return to listening to an audiobook and picked up Sinister Magic. I really am enjoying it so far and already bought the next few books. I also started S.J. Pajonas’upcoming book. And I am enjoying my other read Witches and Stitches as well. Now let’s look at what I read this week.

What did I read this week?

The Demon's EyeGucci Girls Don't Date CowboysWrongfully Infused

This was a pretty solid reading week. I enjoyed The Demon’s Eye it was fast paced with a good romance and it kept my attention. I had some trouble getting into Gucci Girls Don’t Date Cowboys at first as I didn’t like the female main character, but the book got a lot better after that. I really liked her character growth and development and I liked the romance, as well as seeing how she interacted with his kids. Wrongfully Infused didn’t quite work for me, the mystery had interesting parts, but I didn’t like how the main character handled some things and did thing her boyfriend explicitly asked her not to as it could ruin his chance for a promotion.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Conquest of The Ten by Kay MacLeod
Review: Jousting and Justice by Elizabeth Pantley

    • Thanks! I am glad I got some inspiration for my business and got some of those things done. I am really enjoying Sinister Magic so far.

    • It was so frustrating to have the meal go wrong like that, especially as it was a meal I made countless of times before. It was nice that I got to do some stuff for my business and had some inspiration for that.
