sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty okay week. I started the week very low on energy and feeling slumpy, but it got a bit better as the week progressed. I actually baked some cookies late this week as I finally felt like baking again.

Someone mentioned my slump might be a seasonal thing and I gave it some thought. I usually feel like this in the winter so I figured that might be possible. Especially as the last few weeks we had a lot of grey days here with either mist or lots of clouds and not a lot of sun. I always take vitamin D in the winter already, but now I increased the amount as I figured I might not be getting enough. We had one sunny day later in the week, which was nice too.

My boyfriend and I got my booster shot for covid-19 early this week. We both had some mild side effects, headache, light fever and a sore arm. We’re both feeling better now and I am glad we both got our booster. Most of our family also got the booster shot now, so it’s nice to know we have some extra protection.

I had some motivation to work on scheduling my back log of reviews this week and I worked through a lot of reviews that were written, but not yet scheduled. It was nice to get that all done.

Work wise it was a good week too. I put a new blog tour live on my website. Two tours I organized started this week and another one is still running. I also did some assistant work, including a new task for one of my authors. I am waiting on some materials for other tours and hope to work on those next week.

What did I read this week?

The Long-Forgotten Winter King by Annette MarieStolen FlyghtSewn at the CrimeHexes and Vexes

I finished 4 great books this week. The Long-Forgotten Winter King was a great read and I really liked seeing how the story developed in this book and all the reveals.
Stolen Flyght is the last book in this series and I now finished my re-read of this series in audio. I really enjoyed my re-read, this series is so awesome and I really liked experiencing the whole series again.
Sewn at the Crime is the sixth book in this cozie series and I really like this series. It had a great mystery with plenty of twists and turns, as well as likable characters who are there for another.
Hexes and Vexes was a first book in a new series I picked up by authors I already new. The main character was so fun and quirky and I liked reading about her and how she helps the magical police solve a murder. I already bought the next 2 books.

This week I blogged about:

Review: The Long-Forgotten Winter King by Annette Marie

    • Same here, I don’t mind some gray rainy days, but when you have multiple in a row I get tired of it. That’s nice you had a sunny day there 🙂

  1. Sorry I haven’t been around in a while. My laptop quit and I lost all of my bookmarks and have been going through comments on my blog to try and find all of the blogs I visit. Plus things have been crazy here. I got Covid and was sick for a whole month.

Hope you start to feel better. Glad to hear you guys got the booster and didn’t have too many side effects from it.

    • I am so glad I hear form you. I was wondering what was going on. I am so sorry to hear about your laptop quitting and you getting Covid. I hope you’re doing better now! I’ve been feeling a bit slumpy lately and very low on energy, so I haven’t done as much blog visiting as I would like.

  2. I FULLY believe that sunshine makes a difference – I have even considered buying one of those lights that replicate sunshine.

So glad you were able to get your booster – and with mild effects! Feels good to have another layer of protection. I hope you have a great week!

    • I do think sunshine makes a difference, I actually have been thinking of one of those lights to and wondering if that would help.

I am glad to have that extra layer of protection and only some mild side effects.

  3. I definitely know that a lot of my blah days are caused by gray, cloudy weather. I am not as upbeat or full of energy in the winter as I am in the summer, so I try to take it easy in winter. As much as possible. I’m so glad you enjoyed your read through of the Flyght Series! Hopefully it gives you lots of memories for the Amagi Series. 🙂

    • I wake up a lot easier with sunlight and it definitely helps with my mood too. Although I am not a fan of summer either as that’s too warm for me. I just wish we would get a few more sunny days as all the grey days are getting to me. I am taking it a bit easier these days, which seems to help.

I am so glad I got to re-read the whole Flyght series. I love this series and I look forward to the next book in the Amagi series. It’s nice to have everything fresh in my head again.
