sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was quite busy and full. Some little things popped up and I had another long visit at the optician for another eye test. It also was quite the busy week work wise. I do feel more settled in the new schedule and my boyfriend at his new job, so that’s good.

I had another visit to the optician this week. I had to go in for another eye test and this one took so long. It was a test for a prism. It seems I need a prism correction in my glasses. My glasses are now being made and should be ready in two weeks. We’ll see how it goes then.

It was a great week for work as well. I’ve been working on some new tours this week I got some new tour requests in as well. I sent out a media kit for the tour starting next week and did the usual email checking and tour sign ups checking. I did a good amount of assistant work as well.

I haven’t done much blogging this past few weeks. Luckily I still had plenty of posts scheduled ahead, so I only went in to write and schedule these Sunday Posts. I should really do some new posts scheduling next week as I only have a few left now, but I have plenty of reviews written that I just have to schedule. I haven’t done a lot of blog visiting and commenting either, I am sorry for that. I am hoping soon I can do a bit more of that.

What did I read this week?

The One and Only Crystal DruidLost Flyght audioSilver Dawn Afire

This was a pretty solid reading week. It started out less so as The One and Only Crystal Druid unfortunately didn’t quite the spot for me. I really like this world and was excited for another story set there, but I didn’t like the main character, she’s too violent and stabby for my taste. The romance wasn’t really my type of romance either, but they did seem to be a good match. I did like the story and seeing the directions it took as well as the twist at the end and seeing more of the fae, druids and witches.
I finished my re-read of Lost Flyght and really enjoyed it. It’s awesome being able to re-read this series. I liked experiencing this book again and being able to spot the foreshadowing and hints for one of the twists late in this book. The AI narration is pleasant to listen to.
Silver Dawn Afire was another great read. I really enjoyed the world the author build here and the way it’s build throughout the story. The characters and likable and interesting. There are plenty of surprises and twists and turns story wise.

My current reads
I also started three new books this week. I started reading The Unicorn Herd and while I’ve only read a few chapters so far, I am really enjoying it so far. I love the idea of a sanctuary for magical animals and the way the author describes the animals and we get to elan about them is a lot of fun.
After finishing The One and Only Druid I needed something comforting so I picked up Entitled to Kill this is the second book in this cozy mystery series and I love this series so far. Definitely a good choice to pick this one up as it’s exactly the cozy comforting read I was looking for.
As for my audiobook, the 5th Flyght book wasn’t out yet, so I started listening to A Gilded Cage. Not far into it yet, so I cna’t say a lot, but I was familiar with the narrator already and that sure helps. I also like the Irish accents she does.

  1. Glad things are settling down for you and your glasses are being made. Hopefully, you’ll get a bit of time and can get your posts built up again. Too bad your new series book wasn’t one you match up with, but glad the rest of your reads were pretty good. The Unicorn Herd does sound fun.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I did some posts scheduling this week, so it’s been nice to have a bit of a buffer again. The Unicorn Herd is so fun! I keep looking forward to read more.

    • Seems I listened faster to the audiobooks than you were creating them ;). I’ve been listening a bit more lately, so i went through the last 2 books quite fast. Luckily I had a few other audiobooks lined up to listen to before the next book is ready.

Apparently I see everything slightly twice, I never noticed as I thought the way I see was normal. And the prism allows me to see more depth as the vision from my two eyes fuses better than it does now. That’s from how I understand it from looking it up. It sounds weird as I am so used to the way I currently see.
