sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty decent week, as usual it had it’s ups and downs, but lots better than last week. I got some good sleep in this week, which really made a big difference compared to last week. There were less things going on, so I could focus a bit more on work this week, which was nice.

Sadly it’s been again a difficult week for reading. I just seem to have the most difficult time finding what I want to read. I think I might have to ignore review copies for a while and just read what I want in hopes of breaking this half slump. A Stitch in Time that I am currently reading is great at least.

I got a good amount of work done this week. I put a new bookstagram blitz live this week. I had 3 tours I organized run this week. I did some hours of assistant work and then wrapped up this months works for my authors late this week. I also got some of the usual email replying done and did a bit of work swapping out graphics on my website.

And I got my new graphics for Lola’s Blog Tours that fit the new design. These are graphics that fit the new design that I can use on social media and such and they all look amazing! As well as some buttons and such for use on my website, now I just have to swap out all the old graphics that are remaining for the new ones. I’ve done some already, but there’s still more that needs to be done. I can’t recommend Limabean’s Designs enough, she does awesome work. I included one of the new graphics below.

I also got some baking done this week. Early this week I made these awesome blondies with chocolate chips. These taste like brownies, but then different with the chocolate being in chips instead of molten and mixed through the batter. Definitely a great twist on the normal brownies recipe.

And then later in the week I made these mini cheesecakes. They have white chocolate in them as well as some cardamon, cinnamon and nutmeg. They taste amazing! And a fun variety on the normal cheesecake flavor. I made them in mini sizes as I like eating them this way, easier than baking a big pie and slicing pieces.

  1. Good luck with the slump! My reading has been down quite a bit too but I’m hoping to rebound. Brownies plus chocolate chips sounds pretty good. 🙂

Hope you have a great reading week!

    • Thanks! It’s been hard figuring out what to read and I had so many 3 star reads in January as well as a DNF and a 2 star read. I hope I can get out of the slump soon.

The chocolate chip blondies were really good!

    • Thanks! I agree Michelle really does amazing work. I am always excited to see what she comes up with for the graphics she designs for me.

  2. While I’m reading quite hard at the moment – I have found that I’m a LOT more fussy about what I want to read… I love the look of those little tarts – what a good idea if there is just two of you! Presumably you can freeze the others? I love your new graphic:)). Have a good week, Lola.

    • I just seem to go these moments where I am really fussy about what I read. I think I got out of the slump now as I am enjoying reading more again. I really like the mini size cheesecakes as they’re so easy to eat.

  3. I’m glad your week was better. Tossing over the review reading schedule is sometimes all you can do to get back on track and I’m sure the authors/publishers would rather have you in the mood for their book. Glad Stitch in Time is turning out so good. Your blondies and cheesecakes sounds delicious.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • It seems I got out of my reading slump this week. I fit in a non-review book and that seemed to have helped. And A Stitch in Time was a great read.

  4. I think I’d like blondies better than brownies. I like caramel (brown sugar) more than chocolate. I still have 2 of the 12 mini cheesecakes I made around Christmas. We aren’t eating meals as timely these days. I LOVE your graphics and the greens / purples colors. I have Stitch in Time on my list to read if it is the Kelley Armstrong one.

    • This is the first time I tried blondies and I really like them.

I am glad to hear you like the graphics. I really like the green and purple color scheme :).

I just finished A Stitch in Time and it was really good. Yes it’s by Kelley Armstrong indeed.

    • The blondies and cheesecakes were both so good! And I am so glad I am sleeping better again.

I hope I am crawling out of the slump, but we’ll see how this week goes reading wise. Sorry to hear you have a lot of reading slumps, they’re so annoying.
