sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a decent week. A few things didn’t go as smoothly and the start of the week was a bit bumpy with us trying to fall into a new routine now my boyfriend doesn’t have his job anymore. It got better as the week progressed. It’s nice to have my boyfriend at home and not have to worry anymore about him potentially catching Covid-19 on his work. The cases here are still rising.

I am busy with tour work and I couldn’t be happier. I put three new sign-up posts live this week, two review opportunities and one blog tour. I am keeping up with emails and confirming tour dates. A bookstagram blitz I organized was running this week so I’ve been busy with that too. Two new tours got booked this week that I hope to get live next week. I am also keeping up with my current assistant work. As well as prepping some things for the author for whom I’ll stop working in a few months to make the transition easier for her new assistant.

I managed to hurt my back this week. I was just crouching down to pick something up and suddenly my back started hurting badly. The worst went over quickly, but it’s been stiff and painful for days and hard to move around now. It’s doing better now, but I still have to be careful as it isn’t back to normal yet.

My attempts to fix my computer problems haven’t been going so well. After running into a weird error with the driver software I am using I decided to try windows it’s own driver’s update option. So I tried that and promptly ran into a new issue and it ruined an issue with my screen that another driver had fixed. I managed to turn that one back to the previous driver luckily, but that was again a bunch of time with no progress. We’re back to fixing the program we were using now.

I am sorry I haven’t stopped by blogs as much lately. It’s hard to find and make the time to do everything. Hopefully I’ll be back to doing some visiting soon.

I baked some chocolate buns this week. It’s the recipe I had for cinnamon buns, but instead I added a chocolaty filling from my Babka recipe to it. They turned out really well. These were delicious!

What did I read this week?

Bookbub Ads

I also finished Carol Van Natta’s Galactic Search and Rescue story that’s in Pets in Space 5. It was a awesome story with plenty of great animals as well as two likable main characters and a griping story. Bookbub Ads Expert was a great read. It was very informative and I loved learning more about ads.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Ghost of a Gamble by J.E. McDonald
Review: Seashells and Murder by H.Y. Hanna
Review: Maybe a Mermaid by Josephine Cameron

    • The chocolate burns turned out great, they taste amazing. I am happy to have been so busy with the blog tours, it’s been fun working on a lot of tours these weeks.

  1. Yay for lots of work now. Too bad about the ongoing computer drive issues. Your chocolate buns look delicious and glad to hear the latest Carol Van Natta was good. I have the latest Pets in Space antho on my Kindle. I’m trying to decide if I want to jump in on it since I haven’t finished the last one yet. 🙂

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I am so happy with all the work I have going on. The computer issues are so annoying, I just want it all to be fixed. I am glad the chocolate buns turned out well!

I haven’t finished the last pets in Space either, but I am thinking of just started the next one soon. I hope you’ll enjoy the new Carol Van Natta story too!

  2. Those Chocolate Buns look so good, I am planning on making Apple-Cinnamon Monkey Bread today. No Idea how it will come out but I am hoping it will be good. lol
I am glad you are getting busy and sorry your boyfriend lost his job. I am getting worried about mine since we are so slow.

I hope this week is a good one and your back feels better, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • The chocolate buns are great! I haven’t tried monkey bread before, but it sounds good, I hope yours turns out well!

It’s a shame he lost his job, but hopefully he can find something new. I am sorry yo hear about your work being slow :(.

  3. I’m glad the week got better. Having your boyfriend home must be nice because it can be nerve wracking worrying about someone getting Covid at work. Also, sorry to hear about your back! I hope you are feeling better…

Maybe A Mermaid looks like a lotta fun.

    • He got into contact with lots of different people on his work, so it’s nice to not worry about him catching Covid there anymore. I hope my back will be fully back to normal soon. Maybe a Mermaid was a lot of fun 🙂

    • Exactly that makes it extra stressful as I need my computer for so many things. My back is doing better, I hope it’s back to normal soon. I am glad the chocolate burns turned out well.

    • Thanks! The tour works is going great. I actually wished I had tried fixing my computer earlier or kept the drivers up to date so it wouldn’t have been such a big thing to fix now. Computer troubles are difficult. I hope yours will hang in there.

  4. Wow Lola, those chocolate buns look amazing. I am sorry you hurt your back. Back problems are the worst, my hubby suffers and like you when it happens it is just weird, a slight movement gets him. I do not miss Windows. Those updates and issues made me crazy. I bought a MacBook Pro two years ago because you can run anything on it, even Windows (shudders). It was expensive, but most Mac users keep their laptops for 6-10 years and I was replacing my old Windows laptops every 3 years. So it will pay off. Food for thought.

    • The chocolate buns were awesome. It was weird how such a slight normal movement caused it. It’s doing much better now and hopefully within a few more days I am back to normal. Sorry to hear your hubby also has back problems.

The windows updates sure can be a pain, I haven’t had much troubles until now. I just hope I can fix this issue soon.

  5. Yummy. Those buns look really good!
I’m glad to read you got some new tours etc. to work on. That’s so good to hear! And I’m glad you and your BF got in a routine.
It’s definitely getting worse with Covid here. The hospital is definitely getting busier every day I’m there. Sigh.
Have a great week and happy reading.

    • The buns were great, I am glad I tried them. I am really happy with the tour work lately.

It’s a shame Covid os getting worse. Sorry to hear you notice that hospital getting busier, must be tough working at a hospital in these times. I hope you stay safe!

  6. I am so glad that you are now busy again at work – I know that a few weeks ago, you were getting a bit concerned. But sorry to hear of the technical issues dogging your computer – the memory on my laptop is playing up, so I had to nurse it along while away. And it’s annoying how long such issues take! I hope you find the solution soon. In the meantime, take care and have a good week.

    • Yes I was concerned a few weeks ago as I had a few slow month and since then I’ve been very busy, which awesome and perfect timing too. I am so happy to be working on so many new tours.

It really is annoying how long those computer issues take. I’ve been dealing with this for weeks now. Sorry to hear you had trouble with your laptop while away.

    • I am glad my work is going so well these past few weeks. I hope I can fix the computer issues this week or at least make some progress.

  7. I’d been struggling to fit everything in too and ended up on an unofficial break! I had rescheduled posts and the odd one I decided to write (like ARC reviews etc) but for the most part I stayed off the blog, didn’t really comment etc and am only now trying to get back into the swing of things.
There’s only so much time in the day so we need to learn to be kind to ourselves. 🙂

I hope your back heals soon and you manage to sort your computer issues! Good luck.

    • It’s difficult to juggle everything sometimes. I hope your break did you well :).

My back is improving and I hope it’s back to normal before the end of this week. And I have a plan to work on the computer issues more this week, hopefully I can finally fix things.

    • I am so happy with all the tour work :). I never had this happen before, I’ll keep the heating pad in mind, that sounds like a good idea.
