The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week we got hit with some very warm weather. And as we don’t have air conditioning, it’s hard to cool down. Besides that I got the flu, although that almost was a blessing in disguise. As I had a low fever the warm weather didn’t feel as warm as normal. Until later in the week when I started feeling better and the weather only got hotter. It made it hard to sleep as well. So most of the week I spend sneezing and sniffing. And then sweating away thanks to the heat. I tried to go for some small walks, but with this hot weather it quickly became too hot. I think it’s finally cooling down a bit, today it was nice outside, but inside the house it’s still pretty warm and humid.
Besides that it actually was a pretty good week mostly. I got most of the work I wanted to do done. A new sign-up post went live, I did some other Lola’s Blog Tours work, sent out a media kit for a tour that starts next week and did some hours of assistant work. And some new events got booked, I am glad people seem to like the discount.
And for those who follow my mildew struggles, I am still working on the mildew. It’s very slow going with the vinegar, but I am seeing improvement. Especially the lighter spots are almost gone by now.

What did I read this week?
Last Command was a free prequel novella in the Fallen Empire series that was prat of the box set, it was a fun novella that gave some extra background information about Leonidas. Hidden gem was a DNF for me, it did grip me and then there was some dark stuff and I figured I wasn’t in the right mood for it. Mimic and the Space Engineer and Mimic and the Journey Home are the first two episodes in that series. They were both fun, fast paced sci-fi reads.

Book Haul:
Broken Flyght I got for review from the author. I love this author’s books, so I started it as soon as I finished my current read. Murky Waters and Cleon Moon I bought. I enjoyed the first mermaid cozy mystery book, so decided to buy book 2 too. And Cleon Moon is the fifth book in a series I am enjoying so far.
It’s been too dang hot here in North Carolina, Lola, and like you I’ve been suffering through the blazing heat with a cold that just won’t go away. So I totally feel your pain, and hope you get cooler weather and feel better soon. Hugs, RO

It’s no fun having a cold while it’s so warm as well. I hope you feel better soon! I am doing better already since last Sunday 🙂
It’s been really hot here too. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be 111F (43C) but at least we have AC.

That’s really warm, I hope you don’t have to go outside so you can stay in inside with the AC.
mildew…ugh…a constant problem here in the florida panhandle.
sherry @ Sunday Memes
I can image in Florida you have the same problem with mildew thanks to all the heat and humidity.
I saw how awful the heat was in Europe this past week and I know most of you don’t have A/C. And, sick? Poor Lola! Hopefully, this week will be better.
Glad the Lindsay Buroker prequel was good and yay for a new release from a fav author for you.
Have a good week, Lola!

The heat was really bad last week and even worse with no AC. I was happy when i went grocery shopping and could enjoy their AC for a bit.
I’ve been enjoying Lindsay Buroker’s books so far and I already finished the new Pajonas book 🙂
Sorry to hear you were sick this week.
Our weather has been crazy hot and air conditioning in homes in the UK isn’t a thing so it was a struggle. Thankfully this coming week seems likely to be cooler so I’m happy with that!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books recently posted…Weekly Update #70
I heard it was just as hot in the UK as here :(. We don’t have AC here either and that makes the heat harder to deal with. I am glad this week was cooler.
Its been so hot here too! We have one of those portable window a/cs that we keep bringing up and down the stairs haha
Molly @ Molly’s Book Nook recently posted…The Sunday Post: Is Baby A Boy or Girl?
If it continues to be that hot we might have to invest in one of those portable window AC’s, that sounds handy. Luckily this week it’s back to more manageable temperatures.
I don’t know how all of you in Europe are surviving the heat without AC. I would go crazy. It’s been a mix of weather around me – pretty hot lately, but I think we’re getting rain tonight. I’m glad you are feeling better – having the flu is no fun!

Luckily the extreme heat only lasted for a few days, but it was a tough few days, especially as even in the nights it didn’t cool down so opening the windows didn’t help. This week was a lot cooler again luckily.
