sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was quite busy. With some meh moment, but also some good bits. Some thing popped up that we had to deal with, I had a tour running and I was quite busy with assistant work as I picked up some extra work for this month (yay for the extra work!). I also worked on some social media posts that an author booked and got those done this week. I always like doing those. It was quite productive week, but also a bit too full with things that needed to be done. I am just happy most of the things have been dealt with now, so hopefully next week is a bit quieter with only work to focus on.

Last Sunday we went out for a nice walk when the weather was still good. The rest of the week was quite windy and we had some rain too. I made cookies last weekend as I suddenly had the urge to bake. They turned out delicious and I might bake some again today. I also am making some good progress with my puzzle and audiobook.

We had lunch with my boyfriend’s mom this week. We had some great lunch and then ate some delicious scones afterwards at the same cafΓ©.

And I finished 2 books this week as well. I also finished my second 5 star read of the year, Summer Haikus, which was a re-read. I loved it! It’s such a great story and I really like Isa, the main character, and it has an awesome friend to lovers romance. And the setting in japan is so well done too. Having a good book to read during a busy week really helps.

What did I read this week?

Two Witches and a WhiskeySummer Haikus

I finished Two Witches and a Whiskey in time for release day. It was a great read and I am really enjoying this series. I loved Summer Haikus, it was a re-read. This is till one of my favorite SJ Pajonas reads and I can’t recommend it enough. if you’re looking for a fun romantic read set in japan during the Olympics, you please check it out. The cover of my edition is an older one that I displayed her,e on the author site you can see the new cover.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

Review: Lera of Lunos by Alex Lidell
Review: Two Witches and a Whiskey by Annette Marie

Book Haul:

Spell CasterQuakeLove Lies and Hocus Pocus BetrayalFractured StarsDead as a DoorknockerLove Potion

I went on a bit of a buying spree. there is nothing more satisfying than buying new books when you’re feeling a bit down. Spell Caster sounded like a fun paranormal romance with a mystery, so I bought a copy. Quake was discounted to 99 cents and I liked the sound of this one. Love Lies and Hocus Pocus Betrayal I got for review from the author, yay! I can’t wait to read this one as it’s such a great series. Fractured Stars I had seen on SJ Pajonas’ blog a while ago and I decided to buy it as it sounded like my kind of a read and a great sci-fi romance book. I’ve been in a bit of a mood for a cozie and Dead as a Doorknocker caught my eye, so I bought it. Love Potion has a story by Annette Marie and Pippa Dacosta in it that I was curious about and was only 99 cents.

How was your week? Did you eat something good?

  1. Sounds like a week that gave you a little of everything with a nice winter walk day, a visit, baking, extra business, and books to read. Summer Haiku looks cute.
Looks like you bought and got for review some fun ones. I did up some cinnamon rolls and then enjoy one of my library books this morning.

    Have a great week, Lola!

    • It was a nice week with a bit of everything. I love Summer Haikus, it’s such an awesome read.

Oh cinnamon rolls, that sounds delicious. Haven’t had those in a while.

  2. I have also got hold of a bunch of Lindsey Buroker books which I’m looking forward to read.

Glad that the week was reasonably busy and not too stressful, Lola and I hope the coming week is a good one and you enjoy your new books:)

  3. Good looking book haul! I did not eat much but leftovers. I’m trying to not eat anything extra so I’m living vicariously through others yummy posts. We did try out an Italian place that has lots of GF choices which we had been wanting to try for awhile. I got an Eggplant dish with tomato, basil and fresh mozza which was delicious. Have a great week!

  4. I’m so glad you enjoyed your re-read of Summer Haikus! I loved writing that book. And I hope you enjoy Fractured Stars when you get around to reading it. It was an enjoyable book and now I’m looking forward to reading the free novella Buroker released that’s about the heroine, McCall, finding her dog, Junkyard.

    • It’s still one of my favorite books by yours. I love the characters and the romance. I was talking about it with my sister again too when she visited a while ago.

I have both the novella and Fractured Stars on my ereader now and hope to get to them soon. It sounds like a great series :).

    • No worries, thanks for visiting. I am glad the cookies turned out well. And I am happy with another 5 star read, both 5 star reads this year were re-reads so far.
