sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was an okay week, still had some meh moment, but also some good ones. I finished up my assistant work for this month for all my authors and started on some work for February already. And there was a blitz I had organizing running this week.

I also went out for a walk again this week, it was cold, but with a bright sky and not too much wind. It actually made for a pretty nice walk, although I was also happy to get home again and warm up after being outside for a while.

My sister stopped by for a visit, which was a lot of fun. We talked about books, her most recent vacation and more. It’s always nice to catch up with her.

I am working on another jigsaw puzzle. And I found out that listening to an audiobook goes well with puzzling. It’s very relaxing to combine the two and extra fun.

I skipped last month’s stat summary, but this month I wanted to get back at doing them, so let’s have a look at what I read in January.

  1. Fun that your sister could stop by for a visit. I should have thought of doing audios with puzzles since I already watch movies or TV while doing a puzzle.

Neat to see your January stats. Yay for a five star in there. Nice spread of genre varieties and sources for your books. Definitely best to DNF and move on if a book or narrator isn’t working especially when its a book off your own shelf or through a subscription service.
I know you liked the first book in that Ford series. Hope this one is good, too.

    Have a great week, Lola!

    • It was fun to have my sister come for a visit. I really like puzzling and audio, it’s such a god combination.

I am glad I had a 5 star already this year. It’s always nice to see the variety of genres and sources. I am sad about the two DNF’s, but in both cases I decided it was better to DNF than splutter through.

I am almost done with the second Ford book and so far it’s a good one too :).

    • It really is a nice combination to puzzle and listen :). It was fun that my sister came to visit. I am sad about the two DNF’s, but I struggled a bit with my reading mood this month. I am glad I had a bunch of good reads too at least.

  2. All in alla good month LOla! And I love walking when the weather is cold. Not like Minnesota cold mind you! I also read 12 books this month to my utter astonishment 😉

    • It was a good month for reading. I also like walking when it’s a bit cold, but preferably not freezing cold. Neat you also read 12 books this month :).

  3. Fun to have a chance to sit and chat with your sister. My sister and I really have nothing in common, so when we see each other we chat but not about fun stuff like books 🙂

Have you seen the painted diamond puzzles? I have wanted to try one and you use these little things to create the image. They say it is a puzzle but I am not sure. When you are finish with the puzzle do you glue it or do you put it away, like back in the box? I want to do a puzzle but I never know what to do with them. I used to do them a long time ago and I can’t remember what I did! lol

I hope you have a great week, Lola! You did awesome in January, hope this month is just as awesome!
    Happy Reading! xx

    • It’s fun to be able to talk with my sister about books and we even have some overlap in tastes and books we both read, which is awesome.

I don’t think I heard of painted diamond puzzles before, will have to look that up. I actually just pull the pieces apart again when I am finished with a puzzle and put it back in the box and maybe make it again in a few years time. I know you can also glue them together and hang them as art, but I always thought it would be a shame as I rather would keep them so I can make them again someday.

I hope February is a good month!

    • Oh doing crosswords sound like it would go well with an audiobook too. I really liked doing a jigsaw puzzle and listening to an audiobook. It was fun to spend some time with my sister 🙂

  4. I’m glad you are getting audiobooks incorporated into your routines. I am thinking I should start walking while waiting for my daughter at her class instead of sitting in the car this week since the weather is going to be so great.

I am grateful to have had many 5 hearts reads in January. Oddly all audiobooks. Freefall by Jessica Barry, Watcher in the Woods by Kelley Armstrong, Just for Fun by Erin Nicholas, A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas, and What I’ve Done and Bones Don’t Lie by Melinda Leigh.

Have a good week with some great reads!

    • It’s fun to find another activity I can do while listening. I like walking when the weather’s nice.

Thta’s awesome you had so many 5 stars reads already. I want to continue that Kelley Armstrong series soon as I liked book 1.

  5. RO

Isn’t it great to spend time with family and catch up? Glad you were able to do that with your sister. I had a friend who was so good at jigsaw puzzles, and he always put them together so quickly. I was still trying to fit in the pieces(lol) I love potatoes, and adding some veggies sounds like a new way to try them. Kudos on your stats for the month! Hugs…RO

    • I hand’t thought of it before, but now that I discovered this, I am almost always put on my audiobook while puzzling. I really am enjoying audiobooks so far. I really like going out for walks when the weather’s nice and exploring my neighborhood.
