The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Itβs a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a pretty good week. I got some work done, it was a bit quieter with Lola’s Blog Tours work this week, so I mostly focused on getting some extra hours assistant work done. We visited the gaming museum again this week and spend some time playing games there which was a lot of fun. I did a have a bad headache sadly, but I am feeling better again now.
I used my audiobook credit to get the audiobook of Overload Flux by Carol Van Natta and narrated by Nicole Poole. I listened to the first 2 chapters so far. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I am actually quite enjoying it so far. And the narrator handles the different characters and accents really well. It’s a great way to experience the story again in a different way.
I hope those of you in the US had a great thanksgiving!
And I wanted to announce my participating in two upcoming reading challenges.
I’ll be joining the 2019 version of the New release challenge again as I usually read a lot of new releases, this is a great way to keep track of new releases that I read.
And I am joining coyer again for the winter edition. I always have fun with this challenge. For this edition all free or cheap books you read count.
What did I read this week?
Witch Undercover in Westerham was another great book in this series, it had quite the good mystery if a bit sad. A Midwinter’s Tail was really good, I had a lot of fun reading this one and trying to figure out the mystery. It’s one of my favorite cozy mystery series.
What did I cook for dinner this week?
- Spinach Pasta
- Lentils Stew
- Japanese Curry
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Let’s Get Digital by David Gaughran
– Review: Witchnapped in Westerham by Dionne Lister

I got the audiobook of Overload Flux with the audiobook credit I had won in a giveaway. Pillars of Six I got for review.
That’s good about getting your tour work done and some assistant work. Too bad for the headache. Fun times with the games.
Oh yay, glad you enjoyed Nicole Poole’s narration of Overload Flux. I feel her accent work is good, too. I’m listening to Pico’s Crush right now.
Looks like your second witch cozy and your holiday dog detecting cozy hit the spot.
Thanksgiving was nice. We went to my husband’s mom and step-dad’s house. Three of my husband’s four sisters and their families were there so it was a boisterous crowd now that the grandkids are bringing their boyfriends and girlfriends and babies along. We each brought side dishes and desserts and my mother in law did the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy. Everyone enjoyed catching up on each other’s lives. π You’ve got your holidays starting soon, too, I remember.
Have a great week, Lola!

It was a good week mostly, except for the headache.
I am really enjoying the audiobook of Overload Flux and plan to re-read the rest of the series in audio too.
I was in a big cozy mood, so I was happy to get two cozies read this week.
Sounds like you had a fun thanksgiving and that sounds handy how you all made something. Yes we Christmas coming up here in December :).
I will be getting you your banners, I am hoping this week. Glad you had a quiet week and sorry about the headache, I keep getting those on and off for the last two weeks, no fun
Seriously need start the pirates of felicity. The covers are just gorgeous!
I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox
No rush :). I am looking forward to see the banners. Sorry to hear you’ve been having headaches on and off these past two weeks.
I hope you’ll check out the pirates of Felicity series. I think book 1 was discounted to 99 cents this week, but I remember you said you would probably get them in KU. The covers are awesome indeed.
Two reading challenge??? You see big Lola! I can’t even do one challenge LOL. Happy Sunday!
These are the only two reading challenge I ever do and I read what I normally do and read enough to count for these challenges.
I won an audiobook a couple of months ago and tried to listen to it but it was taking forever and I just couldn’t get into it at all. I can read a 400 page book in 2 hours so it’s much easier just to read it to me. lol

Wow you can read a 400 page book in 2 hours, that sure is fast. I can imagine that audiobooks feel slow then. I do think audiobook take me a bit longer to listen to than read the book, but I don’t mind as I enjoy the experience and I can listen to it in times when I can’t read a book, so it still makes me read more in total.
I’m glad your first audio is a good one π The gaming museum sounds like so much fun! I didn’t do much for Thanksgiving, but I’ve been visiting with my grandma a lot since my grandparents are in town π

I am so happy I picked a good one for my first audio. I am enjoying it a lot and plan to get the rest of the series next.
That’s nice you got to visit with your grandma a lot now that your grandparents are in town.
I’m glad to read you had a good week. Sorry to hear about your headache though. I used to have a lot of headaches.. I hate those. Blegh..
Those sound like some great reading challenges. Have fun! π
Have a great week and happy reading.

Same here, I hate headaches, they’re the worst. Those are the only two challenges I join each year as they are so fun π
Sorry to hear you had a headache! I feel your pain since I had a migraine on Thanksgiving day that was so intense! No fun.
I’m so terrible with reading challenges. The only one I liked doing was one we had on the blog a few years ago. A sort of chessboard where we picked reads to fit the square. It got me to read books I wouldn’t have normally picked up. Good luck on your challenges!
Sorry to hear you had a migraine on thanksgiving.
I like these two reading challenges, but besides these I don’t join any usually.
The gamer museum sounds like great fun! Hope you enjoy your week, including the rest of your audiobook!

It was great fun, this was the second time we visited :). I am really enjoying my audiobook so far.
I had a good Thanksgiving. It was quiet, but there was lots of food. Good luck with your challenges! Have a great week!

Glad to hear you had a good thanksgiving!
We had a nice Thanksgiving! We traveled out to Long Island to see my in-laws, and we ate a lot of food and had fun. It was a long weekend and we got a lot of rest. It was a great way to spend the time. I’m sorry to hear you had another headache! What kind of games do they have at this museum that you like to play?

That sounds like a fun thanksgiving you had :).
They have a lot of games at the game museum, they have a few old computers with old pc games, a lot of arcade games machines from varying ages, a lot of those Japanese/ Asian rhythm games and then some more modern games. They had a maria kart game we played for a bit, some sci-fi ish fighter plane pilot type of game, a puzzle like game with blocks you could assemble and the screen registers where you place them, we played a few rhythm games, a fighting game, some of the arcade ones and even a game where you had to pedal on a bike and steer and collect balloons. They have so many different games we now visited twice and still haven’t played everything.
I’m happy to hear you had a nice week other than the headache. With the holiday, I feel as tho I didn’t get much accomplished altho I did. The weather was pretty good too. I hope you’re having an even better week now. Anne – Books of My Heart

That makes sense you got less done with the holiday, but I hope you had a great holiday at least.
