sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

I am not even sure why, but this week didn’t go smoothly. It’s not even that I was more busy than normal, but somehow it did feel that way. There are tasks that I didn’t seem to get to. I also had a short headache early in the week and then a massive headache that lasted a whole day.

This was the last week of this month, so I finished up the assistant work for each of my authors this week. I also worked on a new sign-up post and media kit, but didn’t get to finish that, so that will be live next week. There was a blitz that ran this week too.

I went out for lunch with my mom, which was fun. It was a rare sunny day so we sat outside and enjoyed our bagels. I also got a delicious blueberry muffin.

Oh and small question, I noticed more and more people don’t use commentluv when leaving a comment on my blog. I was wondering why, is something not working correctly or are people purposefully not using it? I kinda like commentluv, but half of the time just click on the blog link if I go and visit and then pick a post to comment on.

Pirate ConsortObsessed with the Vampire

Pirate Consort was a great read, it had a bit of a slow start, but got better the further I got in the book. Obsessed with the Vampire was good, I liked how the plot got advanced in this book and there was one romance I liked and another one I had some issues with.

Book Haul:

The HarbringerAbandoned HeartBest in ShowImmortal PlunderThe Glass Princess

The Harbinger, Immortal Plunder and Glass Princess I got for review. I bought the other two. The Harbinger is the first book I accepted thanks to an e-mail review request this year I think, it sounds good. Abandoned Heart is a Reverse Harem contemporary romance and I liked the sound of this one. Bets in Show has been on my wishlist for a while now and I finally decided to buy it, it has a cat shifter, which sounds so fun. And how pretty is that cover for Immortal Plunder? It sounds totally awesome too. The Glass Princess in the first book in a spin-off series form the Guardians of Sky and Shadow series, which I loved. I started this one the day I received my copy. It’s so awesome to be back in that world!

What’s your favorite flavor muffin?

  1. Blueberry or apple spice muffins are favorites for me. I’m not familiar with the books you posted except the two vampire ones because you posted something about the before. But you got some interesting looking ones.
You’ve really been having a time with your bad headaches. I hope you get some relief soon!

  2. Oh man, too bad about the off-pace feeling week. I get that way and its only when I actually check that I see that things were fine and it was just me who was off.

Yay for one more read than last month. You got to quite a variety with the romances, sci-fis, and mysteries and with the types of romances they were. I’m hoping to start the sci-fi series of Carol von Natta’s this week and I do have that Carysa Locke one, too. Did you see Pets in Space 3 has a title and cover now (it was on Cara Bristol’s newsletter)?

Glad you got to visit your mom and get your work wrapped up while having a good reading month. Enjoy your September, Lola! I like commentluv, too.
Oh, and I’m a Spice muffin fan (though I will eat most kinds).

    • Exactly, things were fine, but it was just me who was off.

Yes it was a good reading month and I like how I read around the same amount of books each month, it’s always fun when I read one more than last month.

I am really curious to hear what you think of Carol Van Natta’s book. And the second Carysa Locke book. Yes I saw Pets in Space 3 is releasing next month. I have it on my wishlist and had multiple authors newsletter that mentioned it. I am looking forward to reading it!

I had to google spice muffin as I don’t think we have those here.

    • I think it’s more complicated or maybe even impossible to get it on blogger. Thanks for your comment, I realized I forgot to double check my post and that line about commentluv was a bit confusing. I was actually curious if it was still working on the comment section of my blog.

  3. I like all muffins honestly. They are carbs so what’s not to love lol?!

I’m sorry your week was off. I hate when that happens, especially when it doesn’t make sense. But having a bad headache really can explain it, headaches can be so awful and really screw up your productivity.

I like comment luv, but it wouldn’t bother me if it were gone either. Have a great week Lola!!

    • I like most types of muffins, but I do have my favorites.

Yeah I really hate headaches and they can really mess up your productivity.

I just wanted to make sure everything was still working as it should be as I noticed less people are using commentluv when commenting. I think I’ll keep it for now.

  4. Sorry it wasn’t the best week. It looks like you had a pretty good reading month in August though, all things considered. I love that cover of Fly Me To the moon.

Immortal Plunder does look pretty awesome. πŸ™‚

I think a good chocolate chip muffin would work for me!

    • It sure has a great cover :). And I am glad August was a good reading month.

Immortal Plunder sure has an awesome cover.

Chocolate chip muffins are great too!

  5. Sitting outside eating bagels with your mom sounds nice πŸ™‚ I just rarely use commentluv because it’s more work, more things to click. Immortal Plunder does have a nice cover! But wow, you’ve never accepted a review book from an email request? You must be even pickier than me πŸ˜›

    • It was nice to sit outside and eat bagels with my mom. We had some colder weather lately, so it was nice to have some sunshine, without it being too warm or cold. I guess that makes sense, I was just noticing it seemed fewer people were using it when commenting.

Oh that should’ve said the first of this year. When I just started blogging I accepted lost of review copies through e-mail request and at least a few that I remember that I accepted this year, but this is the first one this year.

    • It was fun to go out for lunch with my mom. Pirate Consort was a great read, but I had some trouble getting into it, probably as it’s been so long ago that I read book 1.

Good to know people are still liking commentluv.
