The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a pretty decent week. Still pretty busy, but also some good things that happened. My newest screen arrived and it finally is a good one, at least so far. I am still afraid something might go wrong with it any second now as I’ve had such bad luck with the previous ones, but so far I haven’t noticed any things I can’t live with. I am really happy with the screen so far. It’s very comfortable to look at and comfortable for my eyes, which I find very important as I am looking at it the whole day. I know more about computer screen than I ever wanted to know, but at least I have one that works good now.
I also got some work done. A new tour went live and I sent out the media kit for a tour that runs next week. I also got some assistant work done.
We started watching Dark Matter this week. So far it’s enjoyable, but it’s not really gripping me. Everything is just one big question mark, which actually makes for less tension somehow. I don’t know. The android is probably my favorite character so far. I kinda like the kid, but the gun obsessed guy is really annoying and the Asian one hardly ever talks. And now someone lied about something, which felt really out of character and annoyed me. Anyone watched this and can tell me if it gets better?
And one of my birthday presents arrived early. My boyfriend bought a new keyboard for me, it’s mechanical keyboard. We assembled it this week and while it takes some getting used to, it looks really pretty and is comfortable to type on. My old keyboard was really old and I had multiple keys that were stuck in the down position, so this is a huge improvement. And the new keyboard is really pretty too, I picked some keycaps with green and blue and some nice art on it. Below is a picture :). It looks even better in real life.
What did I read this week?
Jumper’s Hope was really good, one of my favorite books in the series so far and I can’t wait for book 5. Fly me to the Moon was a fun read with how it combined sci-fi and cozy mystery, but I had some trouble warming up to the main character and the pacing felt a bit off at times.

- Shepherd’s Pie

Book Haul:
What a coincidence they all have 3 word titles that start with The. I got The Raging Ones once it released as Kristen’s review got me really curious about this one. The Simple Wild I bought thanks to Lexie and Lorna ‘s reviews, once I read those reviews I knew I had to read it. I linked to their reviews so you can check them out if you want to :). The Lovely Deep I discovered a while ago, signed-up for the author’s newsletter and I received an e-mail that the book was out and as it was only 99 cents
I LOVE the keyboard! That is just so pretty! Also glad the monitor is better especially if it’s something you need to look at all day.
You sound like you have been busy! Which is a good thing. 🙂
I love The Lovely Deep Cover. I haven’t yet read a good mermaid book. I need to find one, you read another one that I had on my TBR. I can’t remember the name.
I hope you have a great week, Lola! Missed visiting your blog! Happy Reading! ox

Thanks! i am so happy with the new keyboard and it’s so pretty! I never realized how important a good monitor is until now.
I am really curious about the Lovely Deep. I hope it’s a good one.
Maybe you meant Kellie McAllen’s RH mermaid series? That’s the only mermaid series I read this year I think. It’s really good.
I saw the keyboard on social media. It really is cool! I am glad the new monitor is working for you. Happy Birthday.

Thanks! I am really happy with my new keyboard, it’s so pretty and types very comfortable as well. I am glad my new monitor is working :).
I saw your keyboard on fb and thought it was a really nice one. Dark Matter really does get better. 2nd and 3rd season is better than the first season. But beware, it did get cancelled after 3 seasons.

Thanks! I am really happy with the new keyboard.
We decided to stick with Dark Matter for now and it’s slowly getting better. Too bad it got cancelled after 3 seasons.
Ain’t that keyboard pretty? LOL Oh and The Simple Wild gets many many good reviews so I would say enjoy your read, your new girly keyboard and screen ;-)))
Thanks! The Simple Wild is getting great reviews indeed and I hope I’ll enjoy it too.
Yay for a screen that works. Your keyboard is so cool. I didn’t know about those and you did it up so pretty.
Glad your reading was good this week and look at that lovely haul. I’m convinced that I want to read The Simple Wild, too.
Enjoy your week, Lola!
Yes I am so happy to have found a screen that works, lol. The new keyboard types really good.
The Simple Wild sure sounds great.
Finally a good screen! Your new keyboard is super pretty 🙂 I get really frustrated by shows when everything just brings up more questions and you never get answers :-/ That is funny that all your new books have three-word titles like that!
Thanks! I am so happy to finally have a screen that’s good and a new keyboard. I think it’s finally getting a bit better now as we get a bit more information. It’s actually much more mysterious when you do know a few things opposed to nothing.
What an awesome keyboard! I miss the feel of actual keys to click. And yeah for the new screen. I know what you mean about waiting for something to go wrong. Heres to hoping nothing does:)

The keys of this one feel very nice and they have a small bump when you click them. I am glad the screen keeps working great so far. After all that bad luck with previous screens I just keep hoping something wont go wrong with this one.

Awesome keyboard. It looks cool. Great book haul. I hope you enjoy the new books. Have a great week!
Thanks! I am really happy with the new keyboard.
Ooh cool keyboard! Love it. The color caps and the artwork are a nice touch. And glad you got a good screen too. That can make all the difference. My screen went out a couple years ago and now I’m always afraid this one will. 🙂
Dark Matter does get better, I think- I really liked the show, I was majorly annoyed when they canceled it. And on a cliffhanger no less. But it does have issues. The gun guy does get better, and even develops a backstory and sense of humor. Sadly the Asian guy never grew on me because they never developed him? I mean he gets a backstory (a pretty big one) but it didn’t do much for me? Loved Android though, she has some awesome moments, and I really liked the girl and Two as well.

Thanks for your comment about Dark Matter, that’s very helpful! We decided to continue for now. We’re a few episodes further now and we’re finally getting some answers, which makes it much more interesting. I am glad to hear the gun guy gets better. Too bad the Asian guy never grew on you, but at least the other characters sound like they become interesting. And I am glad to hear the android has some awesome moments, I really like her so far.
I hope the new screen works out. The keyboard is pretty! Mine is just black. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

Thanks! I had a simple black keyboard before this one, that was so old the keys felt weird and multiple keys were permanently stuck downwards. So this sure is a big change 🙂
I love your keyboard! It’s really really cute. I bet it looks great in person and is nice to type on. I have a mechanical keyboard now too and I’m happy with it. It’s comfortable to type on, and I can get in lots of words on it.

It really looks awesome in person and it’s really nice to type on. I don’t think I can ever go back to a normal keyboard now, this mechanical one types so much nicer.
I’m in love with your keyboard – I, too, have a mechanical keyboard and it’s wonderful. It is very comfortable, but my keyboard isn’t nearly as pretty as yours. I’m delighted to hear the new screen is working – fingers crossed it works… I hope you have a great week, Lola:)
Now that I know how nice a mechanical keyboard is, I don’t think I can ever go back to a normal keyboard. It really is wonderful to type on. And I couldn’t resist picking these keycaps as they are so pretty. Which type of switches do you have for your keyboard?
